- 4k 120fps can look amazing from the 10bit cDNG Raw on the Sigma fp! AI algorithmic upscaling makes the original HD120 footage look even better.
p.s. apologies for the re-post I wasn't happy with the original grade - still learning to control the power of 12bit cDNG raw! Here’s the original (unlisted) if you want to see where I went wrong on the first grade: • Cornwall Park - Sigma ... (maybe others can learn from my mistakes too).

This awesome park used to be our backyard until we moved last year so it was nice to revisit on a sunny winters day and let Millie roll around in the grass! p.s. spot which shot my daughter directed me to include! 😉
Shot on with my Sigma fp, shooting 12bit cDNG UHD raw at 25p & 10bit HD raw at 120fps, all handheld using only my Lumix 24-105 OIS (stabilized) lens. Some shots with a little extra stabilization in post (Davinci Resolve).

Haha yes that R5 can certainly produce some stunning shots... but theres always a catch! 😄 One thing I wish the fp did like the R5 and that's the 4K60 or 4K120 👍

It's $600 off right now and a steal for the 45mm lens and body and 12bit CDNG in such a small package! I'm assuming they added 10 bit 120 in a recent firmware?

Did you pay for Topaz for personal use? Or free trial?
Is the video always super35 or Full Frame or is there a setting to toggle?
Hi Nikil, yeah I was so impressed after trialling it I paid for it. I think I used all full frame on this video but yes I sometimes use the crop mode when I want a tighter shot on the same lens and the quality is equally as stunning from the fp in crop mode (super 35). You simply toggle via a quick menu (but no programmable button on camera).

Very beautiful footage! I would like to know how do you expose the SIGMA fp. Because of it’s Rec.709 waveform monitor, something that shows up as overexposure on the waveform but actually isn’t when you put into DaVinci Resolve. I was a little confused when I was shooting shots in large light ratios environment.
I think he just know that he have some stops above and under to play with :)

I love the sunset of the final of one of the other of your video. I would love to know with which lense it was shoot and Which setup on the camera ?
Hi Eric thank you so much 👍 Yes I record almost entirely 12bit cDNG raw 4K direct to the Samsung T5 SSD. I only use the on camera screen and you don't need an external recorder/monitor at all. Atomos and Blackmagic have recently launched ability to record Braw or ProRes Raw to their recorders from the fp but honestly I would only do that if you already have one of those recorders. The quality of the uncompressed 12bit raw direct to the SSD is unmatched and is what makes this camera so special for it's size and price point. I know the sunset clip you mean... it was shot on my Sigma 35mm F1.2 (shot at F1.8 - not sure why it wasn't wide open) and at iso 100 wwhich on this camera allows an incredible amount of shadows detail to be recovered without introducing noise. I would like to ask you if you tried the superscale option from Davinci ? apparently it's create the same effect as Topaz Labs 'Video Enhance AI' , I'm thinking to invest on topaz or Davinci full version to be able to reach your image quality :) for slow motion
Eric Chambre - it’s worth doing the trial of Topaz Video Enhance AI yourself and compare. I don’t have the paid version of Resolve but still tested the super scale (just with Resolve watermark on it) and from what I saw didn’t think it was as good as Topaz. But Topaz is much slower, it seems to analyze each frame more thoroughly compared to Resolve Superscale and has more options.

Apparently with firmware 2 you can now record 10 bit 4K 100fps in raw...this would make this camera a must-buy for me, especially now that it supports Blackmagic raw.
where did you get that info? 4k should be max 30fps

Use stabilizer or stabilize in post? Digital stabilizer internal turned on or off?
zh4k - both, the internal lens OIS of the LUMIX 24-105 is really good on its own but on a few shots I’ve just added a little extra stabiliser in post (Davinci Resilve) 👍
what are you using for the upscale?
I used some dedicated upscale software called Video Enhance AI by Topaz Labs. It’s really slow per frame but much more effective than the Resolves Superscale. For a few short clips like those in here it’s ok but I wouldn’t do a long form video upscale like this.
nothing well ever beat CInema DNG. a have a sony a7s iii i record in Prores Raw and it still dosent compare to my olf FS700k on Cimema DNG.
