Because they want to copy intels naming scheme which is dumb and that started actually with Ryzen with their R3, R5, R7 and R9. As crappy as the FX series were at least they had their own naming scheme.
My pick for the cheapest way to get an AM4 set up that would be pretty decent for gaming and would last awhile would be a 2600 paired with a Chinese A520 board, my grandson put one together in the spring for one of his friends that wanted to get into PC gaming and for the CPU, board, 16GB of RAM and an RGB CPU cooler it was around $120 and paired with an RX 580 2048 it is pretty decent at 1080p gaming.
The Athlon X4 970 is a beast! I'll build a pc with the Athlon X4 970 and pair a 4090 with it which won't be bottlenecked at all! I'll be the envy of everyone in my neighborhood!
It's not a Dead iGPU. These FM2 originally CPU-s were made in A-something and Athlon x4 configuration. Respectively having and not having iGPU-s. Athlons were quite a bit better and could even get crazy overclocks, all core, when it comes to numbers. But not really performance. I used to rock an Athlon x4 760k base is 3.8 with a Single core boosting to 4.1. Sometimes... But With a really good MB I had it on 4.7 stable ONLY on Kingston HyperX Fury 1866 boosted to 2333Mhz I also didn't need a heather in the room, but it gave about 7-10% gains in Fps in War Thunder or similar games. It was Reeeeeeealy sensitive to Ram speeds like Ryzens. But it also can't really go to really fast Clocks like intel could.
Feels like a whole different price class to go Ryzen 5500. I understand this didn't work out, my daughter's FM2 A10 system with gt 1030 works pretty well (no AAA obvi). I think next step economically would be a whole system purchase of a xeon or 6700/7700 ebay system starting at 100. If you did go AM4 right now, best budget buster is the Ryzen 4500.
lol I have the 2 fan version of that cooler, bought on Aliexpress for 8$ during a sale, tried it 1 time but it didn't have enough room for that clip mechanism because of the motherboard VRM heatsink so went with a spare NHD 12 instead I had.
He should have at least got a R3 1200. It wouldn't have taken 4 motherboards to work and may have been competition. That CPU was dead on arrival. I think it was only created to prove it could be done, not to actually be used. It was kind of a bullshit detector to prove Intel didn't need the motherboard changed with every CPU gen.
@@phoenixfireclusterbomb R3 1200 was the low end of Ryzen first gen. I think seeing that one would have been more interesting and fun. Bulldozer on AM4 is so bad it couldn't run games. Sorry if I didn't find that fun.
Didn't AMD send these out as loaners so people could flash their BIOS forward to support better processors? I thought that it wasn't meant for anything past that lol!
Next video: "Could you game on an Athlon x4 970 cpu in 2014?"
Video after that: "Could you game on an Athlon x4 970 cpu in 2004?" 😁
Lol fair. Yeah they've always kinda sucked.
Pre ryzen naming scheme was a disaster. Then was good. Now its a disaster again

@@RhinoXpress it's not dumb if it makes sense. Ryzen made sense until 9000
@@radradR0bot so would you rather look like a follower or a leader?
@RhinoXpress rather look like a company that can communicate product models effectively.
@@radradR0bot so you're saying the only way to do that is by copying other companies naming scheme? lol
Love watching those graphics load or NOT as the case deemed to be!
Glorified e-waste. Man the truth hurts. How is manufacturing real in 2023?
100% cpu use in the menu…
oil pan damaged 😂
😂
I never heard of a newer bios not supportong older CPUs only the other way around, that's wild
Yeah those CPUs were so bad
Congratulations on 1.6k subs i still remember when you where only at 800

Severely underrated channel imo. Subbed 🎉
Thanks !

that 1030 gt not made for gaming .
honestly, for being emergency levels of cheap, it works. that's kinda cool, even if i could find a complete pc with a better cpu for ~50.
Great video, love that air tunnel cooler

Can it power the simulation that we live in?
Oh FFS... I have an i5-7600t that stomps the shit out of this landfill candidate.

@NoMastersNoMistress bro, a 3770k will stomp any, and that's pre ryzen
I didn't know any athlon on am4
