Musk has ruined the Tesla brand and sales are proof of that
He is also risking the company on a bet/gamble (Just two more weeks) that FSD/Robo-Taxi will work, get regulatory approval and oh yeah be able to be insurable in all 50 states (only 12 states to date allow Tesla to insure their cars)
We need to hold Musk accountable for the lost wealth and reckless direction he is leading the company

First attested in the 1960s in the context of aviation, in reference to ball-shaped grips on an aircraft's engine controls (typically throttle, prop pitch and fuel mixture). Pushing these "balls to the wall" would put the engine at maximum power. Analogous to pedal to the metal.

It is a reference to a 1970s movie called Soylent Green about big monopoly food conglomerate. There were different colour Soylent products (like cat food).
The green one was the popular one (causing riots when in short supply), turns out that one was made of people.
Society as portrayed is very Trumpian and brutal.

This was done quite obviously as stated by the documents available to the public in an SEC filing. There’s was no trickery or gimmicks. The Tesla shareholders were not held at gun point or fooled into voting for this proposal, which was deemed laughable by the public as impossible.
The fact that a judge can act as juror and executioner on something AFTER THE FACT is absurd. Everything about this stink a of corruption and personal vendettas intervening, as well as plenty to speculate on in terms of political treachery and behind the scenes pay.
No matter how you cut it, this is absurd to have to deal with.
If you can’t fight for your “enemies” rights than you deserve none of them either. You don’t get to pick and choose who gets to be treated fairly and legally and who doesn’t. Or are we wanting to bring back things like Jim Crow, how very progressive.
At least no other company in the United States is having to deal with something like this, awfully convenient isn’t it?

Dillon, you cannot just "borrow" your employees to another company like this when you're a publicly shared company. Such needs the BoD's approval and that was only given in retrospect. Another example that Elon doesn't care about corporate governance and the Board does whatever Elon wants them to do. Far from being an independent controlling instrument.
As I said on X, you mentioning the original timeline for Mega Shanghai shows the difference between yourself and other bullish Tesla stockholders. You're also calling out the bad, they never do. Thanks for that, also for the advice given on what stockholders should do with the proxy statement before they vote. Again, setting a difference from any other RUclipsr or Social Media person I read/heard on that topic (none said something along your lines, all say just vote "Yes" to the move and Elon's package).
Appreciate that you invested a full day going through the proxy statements and showing us the highlights!

GM is Board is controlling and independent. Why isn't GM selling more EVs than Tesla? Why is GM failing? All they need is an independent board! They don't need leadership, the company can be run by committee! That is the only way to do anything in this world. Look at congress! Do you think we would have the great country we currently have if congress was not made up of a thousand entitled people looking out for themselves and not the people they work for?!
Why do publicly traded companies have a board or CEO? The share holders should just vote for what they want done. Remove the board and the CEO. It would save billions.

@@davidbeppler3032 don’t move the goalpost. How many EV’s one is selling has nothing to do with the BOD being sold independent or not.

These are theories are new substitutes second guessing future value which in other cases justifies current failure for political ends of the judiciary. I am pretty sure we voted on BOD and we voted on the compensation package and a judge gets to come along and throw both out. This pay package was do or die, with no compensation for failure. I talked about corporate governance and that the BoD has to be independent. So yes, you guys move the goalpost.
The Delaware court has ruled that the BoD isn’t independent. That’s a fact. This was the major reason why the compensation plan was canned. Shareholder voting was taken into account by the judge but the gravity of the missing independence of the BoD and not negotiating properly on behalf of the shareholders is the main reason.
Hard to accept guys but reading the judges ruling will help you.
So like the counting of votes in your last election was declared as legal and correct, you have to accept the law that was ruled by the jurisdiction. Moving to Texas won’t change a thing, Bod has to be independent there too.
Has nothing to do with your political view, BTW, so keep your conspiracy theories to yourself or post them in your echo chamber.

At first blush, I thought the 2018 compensation package for Elon was out of line, but then I ran a few numbers. The stock price has gone up a multiple of 7 in 6 years and TSLA market cap has gone up a multiple of 10 in 6 years. The compound growth rate on the stock price works out to about 38% as of today and if Elon is give his 40+ billion and simplistically removing that from the value of the company, the share rice would be lessened by $13 (~$40B). The compounded growth rate would be lowered to 34% with a 6 times multiple in stock price and a 9 times increase in market cap.
So, if you consider that Elon was key in the performance of the company and accounted for a big percentage in the fabulous compounded growth rate, slicing him off 10% of the compounded growth (38% to 34%) doesn't seem so outrageous and in fact it seems actually reasonable. Elon's biggest problem at the moment is stockholders' sense of what have you done for me lately and what is the real current value of the company as it currently still has an elevated PE ratio. TSLA reached its current stock price first in 2020 so that is no increase in the last 4 years, and TSLA is currently in a challenging environment facing increased competition and economic macro effects putting pressure on its current stock price.
For the future if TSLA goes up $150B by 2028, Elon would get another $16B($5 or 10%) out of the $50/share increase in stock price to about $200/sh. That is capped, so that if TSLA was to return to say a $300 stock price by 2028, Elon 16B share would only represent 5% in a 18% compounding environment.
Bottom line, these numbers seem like a lot, but not so much when you consider the context of the original 2018 share price/market cap. If the stock price plummeted so would Elon's compensation, but I doubt anyone owning TSLA would want that to happen.

I’m still of the opinion that being techies, the Tesla management overestimates the acceptance of driverless vehicles by the average person. I think an inexpensive electric vehicle would generate more sales and income than driverless cars. Plus driverless cars are really only viable in large metropolitan areas. The majority of the country will still need the flexibility of a personal vehicle.

If you need Tesla to stock to perform in the next three to six months, get out. If you have a six to eight year horizon, It's pure gold.

Going all out on autonomy is great. Do that. But the timeframe for that to come to scale and to fruition to where Tesla's business model and value will be supported by this will be 10 years. Could be a little less but it's still not going to be 2025 or 2026 or even 2030. Until then Tesla needs to continue to grow like wildfire in all their other divisions. They needed to be making the cheaper "Model 2" yesterday.
I don't really get why they can't do both at the same time. They have over $20 billion in cash. They could still build the new plant in Mexico and have Model 2s cranking off the line at the end of 2025 AND be working on the robotaxi. I just don't get why it has to be just the robotaxi development while freezing all other Tesla model growth. It makes no sense and guarantees Tesla's growth will stall in the short term. They already are at 2 million EVs with just 4 models, really only 2 high volume models. The Model Y is already the best selling vehicle on Earth. They aren't going to double Model Y sales from here. They need new models or Tesla is going to stall on growth until 2030. It's really stupid.
In fact by the time robotaxis are a functional reality with a solid operating business model globally and manufacturing is scaled up to where it can replace Tesla's standard EV revenue the Model 2 platform will have come and gone. The Model 3 has been around 6 years and has been refreshed multiple times. By 2030 the Model 2 could have already have seen 5 years of 1.5 - 2 million sales annually. That's potentially 10 million EVs or 50 billion in net profit that will be flushed down the toilet just because Elon is putting the cart ahead of the horse.

It's not really "going all out" if you dont do it, so why are you complaining? People think that making Model 2 is a good move? I think its and awfull move. Waste of time and resources if you believe autonomy is the future. For some reason everybody thinks that a 25k Tesla would be as awesome as Model Y, 2 times cheaper and have 30% margins. Wake up idiots! Tesla investors are looking for 10x returns in next 10 years. No other car company in the world is valued at over 400B and we are talking about 3-5T valuation? You must be retarded if you think that Model 2, or making cars for that matter, is going to get you there. If Tesla goes all in on robotaxis and AI and gets bankrupted, I would not mind loosing my life savings at that point, because at least they tried. Nothing would be more sad, than Tesla gradually going down to 50usd/share by being a normal car company with electric flavours.

    • @yourcrazybear
      @yourcrazybear 26 дней назад +1

The only reason for delaying the model 2 would be that FSD is really close to be solved. But I agree that Tesla should be able to base both the model 2 and the robotaxi on basically the same platform. They should at least be ready to start massproducing either one of them depending on the circumstances.
Luckily their energy business have started to grow now, so it will be a growth factor to count on after a few years.

Rivians are horribly non-profitable, and a massive liability when they get a hint of body damage. Also, their whole company was built around trucks, which won't survive the Life Cycle Assessment regime we will soon enter. Rivian R1T has 3x the production emissions of a midsized EV sedan like an i5, and requires twice the energy to cover the same distance. EV pickups are a disaster for EV rollout.
