Wow. Thanks! I just paid for a repair guy to come and he told me it was the panel and to buy a new washer. The test just fixed it (it was stuck between cycles). You are my hero (and I am the mom hero of the house)!
Thank you so much for the help. Perfect diagnosis assistant. I was able to figure out that my electronic speed sensor was bad. $50 and 4 screws is all it took to get back in business. My wife wanted to buy a new washer, but thanks to this video it saved me several hundred bucks and runs like a champ. Thank you.
Thanks Mugs! Our machine doesn't spin, we got a fault code of F7 E1. Now I have to perform a variety of tests with a voltmeter per manual (your included link) but that will have to wait till tomorrow, its bedtime. Its info like this that makes the internet so awesome!
Thank you! Very easy explanation. Had f7 E1 and F7 E7 errors. Having trouble initially getting into diagnostic modes, actually rotating clockwise too fast. Make sure you are more deliberate with that step after the initial counterclockwise rotations. Replaced drive hub (fixed F7 E7 error) and turned out my belt was loose due to a loose splutch nut causing my washer not to spin. Tightened it up, recalibrated based on your simple directions and no more errors and great washing results. Have a Maytag Bravos X Model #MVWX700xw2 washer/
THANK YOU!!! Your video was EXACTLY what a girl like me needed in order to fix my washer...Easy, precise, clearly explained in a step by step manner. You've got a follower for life! Thanks again. 😁
Mugs, yours is THE most helpful talking hand on RUclips. I only ran my washer through your test cycles and that auto system clear (@dial #2 position) and the spin cycle came back full strength. I can't explain it. Thank you, sir!
Your video, is one of the most helpful, useful knowledge, being able to learn the codes, it becomes a do-it-yourself repair, instead of calling a repairman, kudos to you thank you
I just wanted to say Thank You. Very informative and well done. The link to the technician guide has proved to be very useful. Have not figured out my problem yet but I'm on the right path. Again I say Thank You for your time for posting this.
Thanks for the video it helped me out greatly now l need to figure out what to do next ,the code l have on the first setting is F2 E1 that is the only code all the other codes are F0 E0,any suggestion?
I am in deep right now thank you. Mine is stuck after fixing my water heater. And seemingly of balance. This will help me diagnose. Thanks for the tech talk. If you need fish advice let me know.
Thanks for already being more help than Maytag and Sears combined. I pulled the following codes: F9, E1 and F0, E0. Sears said it was the main control board, $195 later, brand new control board, same problem. The codes say F9, E1 = "Long Drain". There's nothing wrong with the drain, I check all aspects of it and the pump is clear. To wash anything, I have to unplug for 5 min, plug back in and it will run up until the 'drain & spin' then it runs the pump for 10 min w/o removing water and shuts off. I then unplug, wait 5 min, plug back in, turn dial to 'drain & spin' and most times it goes right to drain & spin and finishes the cycle. Extremely frustrating with almost no known cause. I don't feel like it's the pump because it works perfectly on the drain & spin cycle after I unplug, wait 5 min, and plug back in. Any ideas?
Let me know when you resolve the problem. Mine is basically doing the same thing. I need to get it fixed soon or my wife is going to insist on a new washer. And I'm not ready to drop about 6 or 7 hundred bucks for a new one.
@@philsimmons3829 can you let me know what solved yout problem. Im getting same signs and my washer only works when i unplug it and plug again later to finish the cycle on spin/rinse cycle
Sadly, dont waste your time, drop this machine in a deep dark hole and go bleed money for ANY other machine than a maytag/whirlpool. Nothing you will do or 'fix' will make this machine effective, IMO
I saw a video showing contacts needed to be cleaned of corrosion under board. I'll see if I can find the link. He also used a clear coat to prevent new corrosion from forming again
Hey there everyone great news my Bravos model # MVWB300WQ0 is up and running, on my previous post I mentioned that I couldn't get my machine into test mode and I wasn't able to extract A legitimate test code and that's still the case however upon physical inspection and the great information provided by everyone and to you Mugs132 for the informative video I was able to repair my Bravos. I'd like to share with everyone the issue and the simple fix. First of all I have A direct drive motor and the casing is actually A large weighted plastic cover roughly 3 inches deep and maybe 10 -12 inch diameter it's hallowed out so the motor sits recessed down inside and is attached with A single bolt in the center, the bolt loosened up and worked out enough causing to motor to vibrate and the machine to shut down, i don't know what the code would have referred to but if you have A similar setup just tip the left side down soas to access the bottom right side looking from the front reach under and check if it;s loose, if so grab A hex wrench 3/16 or 1/4 inch and snug it up, thanks again everyone and I hope this helps .
That worked perfectly. Had the same basket error, so printed out the service manual you posted and will give it a shot before calling in the big guns. Thanks for this video, it was spot on...
OMG you saved my life! I just fixed my washer because of your video! And it was just a water pressure issue!!! Thanks so much for the EASY video and link! Much appreciated!
Nice got a call on one tomorrow won't spin seeing this is will probably be junk so i will recomend a good direct drive washer. It is not maytag it is the design and hardware. Whirlpool bought out maytag so it's actually a whirlpool washer. I've been a tech for over 10 years watching some bad designs hit the market. Good job on the video and the codes most importantly so u know what your looking at.
Great video, I have all F7 E0 , which is great, however the agitation isn't working, so it looks like I need to change the hub, since I did the impeller a year ago for the same issue on my Maytag Brovos X
Hi. You did an awesome job explaining. It appears I have a clogged pump or too many suds. Any suggestions how to fix either? I’m not sure how/where to check for a clog. Thank you.
Thank you!! Very helpful video!! Great Job!! Has anyone every run into the problem of their washer finishing a full cycle on one setting like "bulky" and then starting a whole new cycle on it's own with different settings of "normal"? So basically the washer runs twice. Has this happened to anyone else? I followed the steps on your video and got F0 E0 for all 4, so I'm still at a loss. But maybe doing the test will fix it.
I ran the diagnostic 2 more times and got the code F5 E4 and followed the tech manual you included; thanks so much for the secret link; really wish they would include those when you buy the machine.
Great video. Extremely thorough. I was getting an LD error code on my washer. I took out the drum, removed a hand towel from the tub and cleaned out all the hoses, checked the pumps for obstructions, and while at it, replaced the bearings and shaft since they were rusty. I'm still getting an LD error and when running diagnostics, I get an F32 and F70 code. Do you have any idea what may be going on? The washer is not draining and making a gurgling sound.
Big thank you! Went through the process and came out with the F0-E0 code. We are installing our washer right now at the cabin and cant get the washer to fill, it drains as fast as the water is coming in. Any thoughts?
Ours was NOT SPINNING last night... Thank you for this video as I ran the diagnostics to get the code and it started spinning again! I did get code F7EI which is Basket speed sensor fault! Thank you so much ... I was able to give my husband "his line" when he asked HOW DID YOU DO THAT? ... my reply, "if I told you, I'd have to kill you"! Thanks so much!
I went through the diagnostic and I get F7 E1 followed by F7 E5 followed by FO EO and then FO EO again. On another video I watched it led me to believe the switch actuator was bad and it was replaced another video suggested changing the motor capacitor which was also changed. Problems still exist, it does sound like an airplane and sometimes I have to boost it. Is the bearing easy to replace ?
for those codes ..2 1/4 inch screws in the back lift top and like magic it's a nice small book in a plastic bag stick to the inside of that front housing all codes are the..most important don't forget to place it back in that bag
Where are these two screws you speak of? I can't find them on my Bravos 300 model MVWB700VQ0. Are they on the back of the machine or am I looking in the wrong spot.
My machine is an older Maytag Bravo's quiet series 300 model : MVWB450WQ2 and it has LD screen bottom. The machine has been spinning during Wash mode it goes fast while washing mode. I've unplugged the machine but didn't ran the codes and the issue still there. Maybe I have to try this next. What it could be? Stuck in a specific wash?
Thanks a ton. Saved me. FYI.. You might add that the technicians manual is taped to the inside of the washer in a bag (At least it was for mine). It wasn't as helpful as your video though.
I'll NEVER buy anything from Maytag again. Our Bravos has been the biggest turd we've ever owned. The bearings blew just after the warrantee expired and the thing is constantly unbalanced. JUNK!
Yep me either. That is because Whirlpool makes these as cheaply as they can. Name brands mean nothing anymore. If your smart you will buy a Speed Queen. They have a 20 year warranty.
Oddly enough our machine had to have service just days after the warranty lapsed. It's a piece of crap, one by one all my depensers went out so I have to use dryer sheets and can't use bleach.
Had the motor replaced 30 days after I bought it, luckily still made the warranty. I hate this machine I’m never buying a Maytag again. It’s been a source of frustration for 5 years. Each time I did a load of clothes I was praying for it to finally die. Getting an LG next week, Maytag finally guilt spinning not even calling a service man on this, ugh 😣.
I didn't have time to read through all the comments so I'm just going to throw this out there. I can tell you where the code book is and its in your washer so you'll always have it on hand. I'm not stepping on anybodys toes so I'm not going to make a video I'll just tell you. First stand facing your washer and raise the lid. Push your washer drum back and slightly to the right, its really hard to do but slide you hand into the left front between the drum and the front of the washer alone the front inside wall and you will feel a bag taped to the front inside panel. its really hard to get a good hold on it bad when you do then pull it out. Your code book is right there in the bag. now so I wouldn't lose mine I put mine in a zip lock bag and tapped to the back of my washer so I'll always know where its at and don't have to fumble through tons of owners manuals and papers. Its really hard to get out but its there I promise.
I couldnt get this to work for my model. Maytag Bravos MTW6600TB0. I tried many times but with power off, there is no dispaly "activity" when I begin 4-5 counterc-clockwise turning.
i have NO power on my bravos XL....cord is plugged into a "set/reset" adaptor....saying my machine has been recalled and not to use it without the adaptor (just noticed this after a few years...) is there a "reset" somewhere to allow power to resume?
Thanks for this video! But all my codes were the same. All of them read FO EO for all of them! I'm supposing it won't spin, when the cycle is done the water is drained out but clothes are soaking wet. Even if I run drain/spin. The lid lock light flashes during ...help?
Does this work on all Magtag Bravos, Mine is Maytag Bravos MCT(Maytag Comercial Technology. Having trouble with mine, truly appreciate your input. Mary
Two questions.....1) How do you recalibrate a newer model Maytag MVWX700XL2, after replacing the actuator (It shows the error codes on a digital screen). I can't seem to find instructions to recalibrate a newer Maytag after a repair. 2) I've done everything to remove my Maytag Bravos XL washer pulsator (some call it a washer plate)...it won't budge. It raises up about 1/2 inch and seems to hit something, like it's locked in place. I want to check for coins that may be stuck underneath. I don't know what else to try. I tried turning it from side to side, as if it's washing, but it won't move back & forth either.....not sure if that's possible with the power off. What could be the problem ??
Wow. Thanks! I just paid for a repair guy to come and he told me it was the panel and to buy a new washer. The test just fixed it (it was stuck between cycles). You are my hero (and I am the mom hero of the house)!

Best demonstration, after struggling with a half dozen others, and thanks for link to codes, they are hard to find.
Outstanding, I took me a few hours but i went through everything in the washer, it runs like new......Thank you

Thank you so much for this video. So well done! It was exactly what I needed.
This is great. Pretty sure my pump is a goner but it is worth checking all the problems before spending anymore money on this machine.
The advice was great, I was able to find what was wrong with the washer by using the codes thanks.
How to take the washer apart the agitator does not work
Great video for debug the Maytag Bravos MCT model issues. Thanks for the great video.

I can't get the diagnostic test to run on my Maytag bravo XL top load washer.
Thanks. Easy to understand. Will try this.
Is the a separate video for the matching dryer that's what I'm looking for
Curious to whether you fixed your machine and if so which part?
Good video. Very helpful.

The brand new whirlpool washer has a wire harness that comes bad from the factory now 😅

Had to push the drum down and to the back right to get a hand in there. Saw the bag with a flashlight, reached in and grabbed it. THX!
great vidio great detail, thank you
I couldnt get this to work for my model. Maytag Bravos MTW6600TB0. I tried many times but with power off, there is no dispaly "activity" when I begin 4-5 counterc-clockwise turning.
Great informational video. My code referred to bearing actuator how do i fix this?
I have the same F7 E1 Error. Do you have a video showing how you fixed yours?
fantastic video man really saved my ass!!!!!
Thank you very much. I follow along and my codes are F0 and E0 so no fault. Still no agitation except during the diagnostic cycle. I’m so confused!
Thanks, this helps a lot
Great video! Thanks fixed it myself :)
i have NO power on my bravos XL....cord is plugged into a "set/reset" adaptor....saying my machine has been recalled and not to use it without the adaptor (just noticed this after a few years...) is there a "reset" somewhere to allow power to resume?

Will this work for a BRONCOS quite300 series machine? Does the truns are the same?
@mugs123 did this on our washer and it stopped at 11 and went to double zero with the lid lock flashing. Do you know what could be causing this?
You are the best
Does this work on all Magtag Bravos, Mine is Maytag Bravos MCT(Maytag Comercial Technology. Having trouble with mine, truly appreciate your input. Mary
Did your washing bravos spin out the water mine is not spinning out on the spin cycle
great video and help thanks
