I actually ended up doing an F2 sim season to get the hang of it, with the assists all turned up pretty high. I thought the braking was pretty easy...those distance markers are there for a reason! Biggest challenge for me was the steering. In true F1 form the wheel only moves 360deg lock-to-lock, so its way more sensitive than a road car. It makes it much easier to understeer and skid out of corners and into the grass or gravel!
I am crying laughing 😂 13:00 3 hours of footage for that 90 seconds of footage with no continuity problems. May or may not have been there once or twice haha

Cool to see man. I love seeing someone else into the hobby. I was surprised at the play seat and I’m curious how long it lasts before you see wear on the mount for your whee base and if you also have it break in you, and the other pieces make a lot of sense. Which was another thing I was wondering your opinion on. I saw a lot of wobble coming out of that single pillar stand and I know your loosing a good amount of ffb from it. Any plans for reinforcement or do the offer a replacement from play seat? Anywho, loved the video and can’t wait to see more.
theres already a racing line and a 3d one, you can atleast press break in red. i watched the whole video and didnt even get to watch a single hotlap or even a few lap race. the setup is excellent for a f1 experience though its super expensive, but i think its worth it.
I have an idea for you for your chair. Packing companies and PC building companies have this special packing bag that once removed from it's container, starts to expand. And when you put it into a box with items you want to ship, it conforms to that shape and surrounds those items. You should buy a few (3 or 4) of these special packing bags. Activate them, place them on your chair, and then sit down on them and get comfortable. This way when it hardens, you will have a cushion that's the exact shape of the backside of your body. From there you can use the cushion as a negative template with resin or silicon, to create a positive template. Then put a layer of plastic over the silicon and start adding the cushion of choice to it. Then when you remove the silicon, you will have a cushion perfectly shaped for your body.

Very well put together video. Unfortunately, that cockpit is not strong enough for the Fanatec wheel base, if you look closely you’ll see the movement against that centre support which leads to warping (I had mine replaced by Fanatec). I have a similar setup and had to build a custom frame to secure it properly. I see some other comments about VR which really does take this to ultimate immersion. Subscribed!
Just an idea, maybe watch a track guide or several…then drive the track at a speed you can manage for a few laps. Turn off the race line. You can see the braking zone by the rubber left on the track, (the dark patches) and the line (just darker than asphalt). Go slower, when you know the next 5 corners in your head without thinking, then go fast. I doubt you read this, but it’s solid advice. 🤷🏻♂️
Good choice on hardware. Sim racing is mostly pain and suffering but every now and then you get some satisfaction I promise lol. If you want to push your hardware even further, I’d recommend Assetto Corsa. The F1 cars in Assetto Corsa they say are even closer to what’s it’s like to drive them in real life. Ever since the $80,000 Aston Martin X Curv Racing Simulator started making its way around the web I've been thinking to myself that you could do a similar rig for "way less $$" with a Playseat F1 and a Samsung G9- and here it is! I plan to do the same thing someday soon, all white to keep things clean as well. For a while the trick seemed to be finding a GPU that can push 240hz on the G9, but now that prices have come down a bit and 40 series are coming out by the end of the year, I would think it'd be a little easier now.
