I’m playing this solo this weekend in Paradise, CA twice on Sunday in the Paradise Performing Arts Center, with the Paradise Symphony Orchestra which I’m the Principle oboist.
The community is attempting to rebuild after the Camp Fire. It devastated all of us. It’s been one year.
The concert performances are on 11-10-2019.

Dvorak and his orchestrations for winds are one of a kind, how he uses color for expression.

I just bought an English horn for my school band program. I'm so excited to show this to our oboist!

Me da mucha felicidad ver que las cámaras enfocan a los instrumentos importantes en el solo!
Me he hartado de ver conciertos de prestigiosas orquestas donde tardan largo tiempo en enfocar al solista 😢

Beautyful indtrument . Its sounds most like an oboe than a clarinet

Probably the most iconic passage in the relatively modern classical music repertoire - at least to the mostly musically uninformed masses - where the English horn is allowed to take center stage, aside from the beginning of the Carpenter's top 40 tune "Superstar".

Because this is his technique. See how Albrecht Mayer holds his oboe. I would say these guys are entitled to hold the instrument however they want :-)

What! For once It’s not dragged out. I love this tempo. It also makes the clarinets answer more melodic as it’s not just long notes. Also the end of the phrases are held perfect with the tempo it’s played.

The tempo didn’t seem any faster than other performances that I have heard. But I am no expert. But we agree that it is a great performance overall
