In school they told me that the oboe was really hard to learn.
That's not Stefan Schweigert, that's Simon Rattle.
Morning Song of the Jester!!🃏
Denne versjon er bedre en den med A Mayer…mye bedre!!!
Amo la música de cámara y orquesta
Браво
To the people that rhink that it is not to be hard to stand iron bullets felleeing hungry and scascelly dressed
Me da mucha felicidad ver que las cámaras enfocan a los instrumentos importantes en el solo! Me he hartado de ver conciertos de prestigiosas orquestas donde tardan largo tiempo en enfocar al solista 😢
I just bought an English horn for my school band program. I'm so excited to show this to our oboist!
Beautyful indtrument . Its sounds most like an oboe than a clarinet
Junto a las fronteras de Israel es volver a comenzar el ciclo vicioso...
The sudden drums made my dog jump 😅
I want this played at my funeral. “Goin’ home, goin’ home, I am going home . . .”
The OBOE ROCKS !

😂❤
sooo sexy
Sorry. Didn’t like his phrasing or his rhythm.
What instruments are those at 2:43? A clarinet?
Clarinet, flute, and oboe
This is the greatest opening to any piece I’ve ever heard. Stravinsky was definitely on a different level. I’ve heard that when the Rite debuted, most people didn’t recognize what instrument it started with bc they weren’t used to the bassoon’s high range. So from the start there was something mysterious about it. Above all, this piece feels beyond music. All of the unusual voicings don’t sound traditional at all and they’re hard to pinpoint. Though the bassoon plays a very tonal phrase, the parts under it make it feel alien and sinister. It’s actually a really frightening opener and it makes sense why the piece was so controversial. Stravinsky was making something that didn’t feel like music and couldn’t be easily grasped.
You're right, it sounds beyond music and unusually beautiful because Stravinsky took the bassoon solo from Lithuanian pagan folk song and melody. Although he didn't create it he surely made it eternal and added bassoon instrument to it, if you are interested to hear how it sounded original when singing I recommend this video ruclips.net/video/3JqocSaArAg/видео.html
Probably the most iconic passage in the relatively modern classical music repertoire - at least to the mostly musically uninformed masses - where the English horn is allowed to take center stage, aside from the beginning of the Carpenter's top 40 tune "Superstar".
The bassoonist even looks like Stravinsky
This bop made the conductor intensely 🔩 in his👖for the duration. My man was feeling that one!
Nice !
Lord of The Rings, Hobbits leave the village
Mozart would have delighted in dropping a fart at just the right spot, the cheeky li'l joker 😆 Stravinsky is glorious, and Rite of Spring is exquisite...
English horn is my favorite instrument sound after the GOAT of instruments the saxophone.
Every hair on my body is standing, artic chill through my veins as I’m listening. Eternally legendary
❤❤❤ just amazing!! Bravo Mr. Kelly!
Kelly is a great oboist... I don't understand, why Mayer is so more considered...in my opinon there isn't comparison....Kelly top player, Mayer good player
And he's using a thumb plate oboe!
Every single note is full of life ... how wonderful. There is a singer in the phil
When I was a bassoonist I gradually noticed that EVERY oboe solo is just beautiful. I figured that composers knew that since it was certainly going to be very clearly heard, they'd better make it good.
Did you also notice that you could play most of them on your bassoon just as beautifully? :)
@@NicolasConnault Somebody might be able to play beautifully, but it certainly wouldn't sound the same. It wouldn't have the crisp penetrating sound of the oboe. Which is probably why composers select it so often. It can play "on top" of the orchestra in a way that is difficult for a bassoon. Of course, the bassoon solo in Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" might be an exception. But it is played in such a high register that the tone is starting to approach that of the oboe.
MakaiMauka 0 seconds ago Oboe, violin and cello most closely mimic the human voice. I would add Bassoon on to that list based on the solo at the end of this same movement
I think the music it's presented beautifully
bravo
He's not doing half-hole on the middle notes! He's lifting 1st like a flute player. Is this a British thumbplate system?
Stunning. Absolutely stunning.
Wonderful to hear this
So stunning, gives goosebumps. Music is a gift.
Gift from God
When does he breathe?
0:34 right after the A
my mother has played bassoon professionally for over 30 years and jesus, the amount of times i've heard this exact bit is stained into my brain from her practicing. still love it
beautiful!!
Incredible

f for this musical
As someone who knows nothing about Stravinsky this sounds like Tom and Jerry
when the EH line is lower than the Bassoon solo...
EHで彼の右に出る者はいないと思っています。ブラボー!!
