Wow this was a while ago (seems like yesterday almost!), yes I'm doing more photo stuff these days but I have more Nitecore stuff coming in very soon! I'll still do some videos as and when with items like this.
Hi Mr Baz, another very nice review. You mentioned this light is only splash proof and nite core also says that on their website, but I found videos here in youtube. The light had been submerged in water even in sea water seems like its not damaged.
It's probably the official IPX test is for 1 metre depth for that rating (ie the one above it), so they rated it one below. It might be fine, or it might not be ideal for anything near 1 metre, the next rating has a specification about depth. It might last, but might also not have met the rating for the depth. Either way it's not likely an issue normal use
too bad it doesn't have the strobe-ready function like some of the other nitecore flashlights (like the iP20), which is kind of a bummer because - at least is my understanding - this is kind of a patented nitecore feature (but I might be wrong)? As I understand, with this specific flashlight, the only way to kinda have this function is to go cycle all the way to strobe and then switch off the flashlight, so that it memorize strobe mode, am I correct? Is there no way to "program it" so that it goes to strobe with half press and normal light with full click?
@@frank-castle It shows you, access to strobe just hold the main button in when on. That's kind of easy strobe at least to me. And the memory Unless you want the paddle switch type access instant on or off, in which case something like the recent JETBeam I looked at (similar ones from other brands), would seem to be better?
@@MrBazReviews yeah I was thinking more something along the line of the JETBeam TH10R that you reviewed (I watched the video) where you basically - with the flashlight off, you press and hold the mode button/paddle and goes instant strobe. Thanks :)
Hi Mr Baz, can I chk if the main button has a ‘resistance with a soggy feel’ (mine feels like an O ring is rubbing along the side of the the button causing it to feel soggy when being pressed) or a ‘resistance with a smooth pressing feel.’ Thanks.
Surely to God Olight can't have a patent on the only solid reversible pocket clip worth a damn. Why do even high performance manufacturers choose the same cheap pot metal universal clips as the sweatshop 5 for $10 ebay specials! I found one budget light with clip facing emitter side, all the rest are a gamble as to what happens if you try reversing the standard clip, 9/10 dont work. Olight system of double sided, 2 layer clip by far superior solution. Call me fussy but as a baseball cap wearer, the ability to have a temporary head light without a band is a no brainer
It might be a bit heavy for a cap, but I can see your point about the clip. Saying that, some folks don't like the Olight double clip as it's not as low profile
@@MrBazReviews I’ll take that as a yes. I’m not too familiar with battery terminology but if it is then awesome, I have so many flat tops lying around that would be perfect for this light. 👍🏻
@@250rapid A lot of people wear hats, in particular baseball caps. They might not watch baseball or play it, doesn't matter it's a common head wear for many. Hence I do sometimes clip a light onto a cap. Also about 25% of viewers are from the USA, they also wear these caps quite a bit!
If you wear headwear with visor, i.e. baseball cap anyway, the choice to have a temporary head torch without faffing about with bands is a no brainer. Once youre used to it, you dont want to go without, especially as its such a simple technology to implement. Olight cant have a patent on it ffs. Its not just a gimmick

Very nice review,
At this rate, you might get me interested in cameras again:)

Sounds like an excellent short range flood light. Ideal for leaving in the car for emergencies.
It's good if you can get used to the UI

Very nice video I actually watched the hole thing
Thanks it's an unusual model that's certain!

It's not a clicky switch it's more smoother feel with moderate resistance
Looks like a knife inspired shape and design to me.
It does a bit def not the average style of light we usually see. Grip is quite good with the grooves
Its a very handsome light...
Some might like the look

So this light can accept flat top 18650’s?
This is shown right at the start 1:35

Lanterna fantástica e com uma boa potência luminosa só a luz vermelha que não achei necessária podia ser um Laser.

Good design.
UI takes getting used to but it is different
I hope NITECORE will produce a successor to the P18...
It would be interesting
Shame the red is no flash, useful for walking on backpack or bike in poor light or hazardous road . A flashing red really grabs your attention .
Fair point to make, should have though about that ;-)
Is it rechargeable using micro usb/type c?
Erm the video shows everything you see a micro USB or type c port?
For that price I'd go with Surefire Stilleto if going for a tac light
Been comparing the two, the removable battery higher output and aluminum body of the nitecore seem more appealing for the same price?
I'd love to try a few of their models
Now imagine this light, but with a 5000mAh 21700 battery and a different-preferably more aggresive knurling
Size would increase a bit, wouldn't bother some users though
@@MrBazReviews some of us just wants crazy runtimes😂

Would absolutely LOVE to see something like that. It'd be perfect.
Clipping it to a baseball cap? But why?
Some people do, it's not that rare need to use hands make shift head light
@Brad Dryden...Why? To play baseball at night 😄...This is what I call a dumb question 😣
