So based on the review, is it safe to conclude that the SRT7i is a direct upgrade from the SRT6i while not really comparable to the SRT7GT due to it not having different colors and an additional benefit of having instant access to "Strobe" and "High"? I think that also means that the SRT7i is a better self-defense EDC than the SRT7GT due to instant access to said modes. Would appreciate your opinion on this one. Thanks in advance!
I've not used the GT or the 6i, but from what I can see yes I would agree it's got more in common with the 6i. The GT range is a bit different, this is full on tactical albeit with the custom battery. If you can deal with that, I think most people will like the body design/style and the beam is just what I would want myself. Plenty of stuff out there 250-300m range, sometimes you just want a bit more
I have the Nebo 2k for work and their batteries are propriety also, unfortunately Nebo batteries are not available in the UK, so when they die so does your torch! At least Nitecore batteries are available in the UK. You get what you pay for, I have a number of torches with 18650 batteries but there is no overload protection, more expensive 18650 batteries with protected circuits are just the same price as Nitecore. My SRT7i is fantastic, I would rather spend more for safety on protected circuits.
I have this light, mine seems quirky though for some reason. If it sits for more than 10 min, the first click on the switch doesn't do anything, almost like accidental bump protection or something. Then the second click turns the light on. It will turn off and on normally after that, but set it down for 10 min and ya gotta double click again lol. The P20ix wasn't like that so I just chalk it up as quirky.
Hard to say both same LED this has more range, but it larger v the more compact P23i which is also a bit cheaper. I'd say you'd like both just find the one that works best, the beam on both is long range just this is a bit more focus

@@MrBazReviews awesome, strobe on my tm9k tac.. almost works on them, most stay away but some get too close for comfort.. think a more focused beam, good lumen and candela, should work.. seems I firstly bought wrong light🤣
I questioned the same thing. I messaged nightcore and they said the website specs are correct. I don’t get how the p23i is 30 min at 3k and this is over 180 min at 3k.
@@happyamerican3235 You see the results I had so obviously it can't run at 3000 lumens, nothing does without a huge body and additional cooling. The run times are based on theory, not reality.
How confident is Nitecore using metallic cover on their ports?? That would possibly lead to corrosion. I think the only ones with this feature is TM12K and this SRT7i
I'd be surprised if it corroded, if it's made out of aluminium alloy then it's probably not that likely to have this issue. This mix the metals, and heat treat it. Same as the body material and that's not something that has this problem
@@MrBazReviews water can get contact with those pins and I don't think it's resistant to corrosion unlike the cover that is made up of same aluminum of the body of the torch.
It wasn't charged, but it's a protected cell so it should not be "completely flat". As long as it's not really low voltage (say under 2.5V) then it shouldn't be a problem
Lol I thought you would like this one, good beam. Your holster probably isn't big enough (the tactical one you have) The supplied one is alright but maybe too bulky for some

I have switched over all my lights to Nitecore except one, which is a Streamlight that also uses a dedicated cell. All my lights are now the "i series" lights and bought a bunch of extra "i series" cells so even if I have to have back up cells or use a different light they all take the same battery. hello how are you, excuse me, could you make a video comparing the srt7 with the mh25 v2 please
Great review, thanks mate! All questions and concerns covered. I expected to see John Wayne appear with a 6 gun during the demo music. Love it.
Lol yeah sometimes I find some unusual free music on the Tube library!
Awesome review! Very nice clear beamshots!
Thanks a lot! I try to show it the best I can

I like the candela and the ultra low mode vs other Nitecore lights.

Nitecore SRT7i the king of 3 switch flashlights.
It's quite close to ideal for a tactical model, nice UI can't argue with the beam either. Custom cell might put some off

Nice light. Great upgrade.
I like it overall apart from the custom cell, the beam is great
Can I put the SRT7i tailcap on the P23i? This would be the best flashlight setup for me if possible.

Nitecore says it'd be 3h15m on turbo. It sounds to good to be true, so... what is battery life on single charge when using turbo ?
