Totally understandable, the prices they charge to just play games are outrageous. Porting kit (by paulthetall) is a solid alternative that is essentially crossover but a few versions old so performance will be worse than the current version of crossover. Whiskey, if you have an apple silicon mac that is up to date with the current version, is better then porting kit, though, as it has a more recent version of crossover bundled in along with with apple's game porting toolkit all for free. There is also VMWare fusion which is an excellent alternative to Parallels and is also free! I actually prefer it as it has lots of nice qol features.

Hello! Warzone, along with many other big online games like Fortnite and Valorant won't work on mac due to the anti-cheat. In the future, I would recommend going to this site: www.applegamingwiki.com/wiki/Home to check compatibility (Whiskey is crossover basically). Also, assume most online AAA games won't work as that is usually the case.

If you want to find it more easily just redownload whiskey, push create new bottle then push browse on the file path option and it'll take you there.

It looks a little confusing, but actually it is very simple. I think you will find "Symbolic Links" very useful; you can use them, for a lot of things. I hope I did not forget anything. Kind regards."
Essentially, move your bottle to the external drive then create a simlink. Let me know if you have any more questions!
@@MacGamingRevolution thank you
I used your tutorial to install some windows software (RF explorer) it works perfect. However this software works with an hardware device but the software won't find the device when I connect it. Any advice?
Hello! just to confirm, is this the aforementioned software? j3.rf-explorer.com/
Yes its the rf explorer suite for windows (the Mac version is not good)
@@Leo-Benjamin Looking more into the topic, I can't find anything on actually connecting it. Is the device connected via bluetooth or USB? Also, in my research I found some alternatives if you're interested that are apple silicon mac native: nutsaboutnets.com/touchstone-standard-rf-spectrum-analyzer-software-for-rf-explorer/ and rfexplorer.com/clearwaves/
@MacGamingRevolution Thanks for looking into this. The hardware device is the actual scanner, and it’s connected via USB. I own the 4G Combo PLUS. I’m aware of the other Apple-native options, but the RF Explorer Suite for Windows is by far the best option, which is why I’d like to get it working.
Thank you so much ! But is it normal to have two "Pre-loader64" opened in the dock while i'm running steam ?
I'm glad I could help! Also, it is completely normal to have Pre-loader 64 on your dock when steam is open and it should close when you close steam.
Thanks for your fast reply. Normal to have one yes but two ?@@MacGamingRevolution
@@valentineries 2's a bit odd but not out of the ordinary, I wouldn't worry about it.

How does modding work when doing things like this? Like can i access the files as if it was a PC? I don't know much about this but wanted to play with my girlfriend some lethal company with mods and she has a Mac.
Hello! Modding is quite simple with whisky as you can access the C: drive from the whiskey main menu and place mods in the appropriate folder. Let me know if you have any more questions!
Is there any way to use seam overlay through wisky?
I don't think so.
Which one is better to use win10 or 11?
I would say 10 as it has greater compatibility, tbh tho I don't really know but yeah I'd say 10.
Can you please make a detailed tutorial like this but for boot camp? My iMac is and Intel mac so Whiskey dosen't work. :(
I would love to but sadly i don't have an intel mac
:( I can try and walk you through it though if you would like. Thanks for your comment!
@@MacGamingRevolution there are a lot videos especially since you a intel mac.
I don't think you need whiskey but you can do boot camp search it up and hope for the best.
just find a version of windows with the windows insider program and put the disk on the bootcamp
This guy's got it! you can also get the windows 11 iso here: www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11 I don't know if you need it for bootcamp though.@@squirmyspaghetti
Can you add the games you installed to Launchpad to have it look like an app? Thanks! 😊
CAN U DO THIS FOR EPIC GAMES? Fortnite and Rocket League?
Rocket league should work through crossover, Fortnite will not though due to anti cheat flagging.
everything is working fine but my game keeps getting stuck at 99% when im trying to download it.
Turn off your connection to the internet and turn it back off, you might have to mess around with closing steam
I have a question if you install and play a game on steam in whiskey, will it install viruses or bring damage to my laptop.
Great question! Whiskey is virus free and anything downloaded from steam will also be virus free as valve checks everything uploaded to steam thoroughly for malware!
@@MacGamingRevolution Ok good so if I install a game it will be malware free good. I need this laptop for my undergrad work.
@@Thewolfartist24 Which game is it?
@@MacGamingRevolution Well any game really. I wasn't referring to any specific. I was just stating about how I am that it's malware free.
For some reason I have no project files what should i do?
I got steam to work. HUGE ISSUE: for Rome 2 Total War, the game starts downloading but at a certain point, it stops. Please advise, the wifi works fine and theres 70GB available for a 33gb game
I got it to download fully, now it wont open. Its a 32 bit game but it says win64-preloader. not sure if that is only for 64 bit games... Rome 2 total war is just impossible to play. Looking forward to #ManorLords !
Awesome, thanks 👏
I downloaded Warzone on the Mac, but it doesn't open every time I click play. Any idea what I should do?
Hello! Warzone, along with many other big online games like Fortnite and Valorant won't work on mac due to the anti-cheat. In the future, I would recommend going to this site: www.applegamingwiki.com/wiki/Home to check compatibility (Whiskey is crossover basically). Also, assume most online AAA games won't work as that is usually the case.
can i play the coop game w my windows pc friend? like phasmophobia?
You can! I don't know if phasmaphobia in particular would work but I've gotten lethal company and deep rock galactic as well as ror2 to work.
the game's finally running but the audio's all messed up
just tried a different game and it worked perfectly well, ig whisky just doesnt work with some games
When i try to launch steam it says it needs wine64. how do i get it?
everything works and steam is in whisky, but steam just won’t open. any idea why? i’ve tried redownloading whisky or making a new bottle for steam but it doesn’t work, it just won’t open steam.
I'm having the same problem
Maybe try redownloading whiskey. Also, are you making bottles on windows 10 (7 and older have discontinued support) and getting the right steam setup file (steamsetup.exe)?
This method works for me, but created a problem when the games aren't playable anymore: lack of some sounds and uncontrollable mouse movements, even laptop restarts don't help out. What can I do, guys? Thank you in advance.
I don’t know why, but I can’t download the game Left4dead in Steam. The update stops by 61% and nothing further happens (((
I try boosteroid for one week and it wasn’t so bad and fast running of games, but not free and bad connection because they don’t have good server in Japan and I always have 150 ping with boosteroid (but my connection in Japan has 1 of ping).
So the problem was boosteroid!
But with whiskey when I install i game it rest in my laptop or I have to install every time the game?
I can download steam all that but the steam doesen't seem to open no matter what I tried. I tried to delete it and redownload whisky but it just doesn't seems to work.
I am sorry to hear it's not working. Just to confirm, were you able to completely setup steam and login to it? Also when you say 'downloaded steam' do you just mean the installer (SteamSetup.exe)?
So when I try to play something like gray zone is saying something about my drivers are not up to date. Any idea what I can do?
i have a dual core intel mac would this still work?
It won't :( Fortunately, you can run bootcamp which lets you natively run windows!
hi, when i trt to install whisky, the gtpk option is replaced by "whiskywine" in install. how do i get gtpk? thanks
Thanks dude!
It's always slow from peak to 0 when I download a game. What do you think I should do?
Thank you, bro.
Are you saying games are slow to download for you?
@@MacGamingRevolution That's right, bro. When it starts, it downloads at the maximum speed. But for a while, it slows down and drops to 0 and I wait it around 2-5 minutes then it starts to download again. Never happen when download on native os.
Hmm that's really weird. Are you able to complete downloads or is it too slow? in the meantime I'll look for a fix. @@AphisitP
@@MacGamingRevolution It's completed and playable. As I said, it start with maximum speed, slows down to zero, and back to download with maximum speed again. It's going on as a loop until complete.
Gotcha. I've done some research and found this which kinda sounds like the issue your mac is having: github.com/Whisky-App/Whisky/issues/520
I wasn't able to find much else unfortunately. If I were you I would just try to deal with the slow download speeds :/
If I find a solution I'll be sure to keep you updated.

I tried do download a game (Subnautica), but unfortunately the download is stuck at 98%.
Restarting Steam doesn’t solve that, and I can’t uninstall the game as it says "Failed-Busy"
Subnautica actually has a mac port so you don't need whiskey!
@@MacGamingRevolution I know, and thats what i did at first, but my game keeps crashing.

yes

yo how to add my drive in the steam. The whisky can't detect my drive. Thanks
hi bro i followed u method and installed steam but wasn't able to play naraka:bladepoint, so i want to delete it but i was able to delete whisky still afterwards my steam(windows) kept re-launching itself. pls help me how to fully delete steam(windows)
Hey, I've got you bro! You are going to want to follow this filepath: /Library/Containers/Whisky/Bottles
you can do this by pushing 'go' in the upper left corner of the home screen, then hold down option, while holding down option select library. from there continue to find these folders then once you find 'Bottles' inside Whisky delete all the folders inside of it. If you want to find it more easily just redownload whiskey, push create new bottle then push browse on the file path option and it'll take you there.

Is it possible to run Genshin Impact direct downloading from office site in whisky or not
There's actually an even better alternative for genshin (though it requires the MOST modern version of MacOS) that does everything for you and doesn't need crossover or whiskey. I can't link it because the devs don't want their stuff getting taken down but if you search YAAGL (Yet Another Anime Game Launcher) then it should pop up.
