Hi Paul, the wait time downside is worth getting a cleaner picture. I used this method at Vivid lights with light projections moving in all directions. I always have noise reduction on when shooting long exposures. This was a very useful video, sometimes we need to be reminded of these small things, it's easy to forget sometimes to turn on noise reduction. Thanks for sharing, 😃
Paul, thanks for the video. I just wish I had known about the second photo sooner. I have and use long exposure noise reduction. I keep mine turned on all the time. However I didn't know that long exposure noise reduction takes a second picture. It explains why my camera takes a long time to photograph fireworks.
Thanks for this. I do use noise reduction on my waterfall long exposures. However, you failed to explain how the camera 'fixes' the faulty pixels. I'm guessing it 'borrows' values from surrounding normal pixels but that' just my guess.
Hi Paul, crackin video. When you share tips they always seem like advice from a mate rather than an expert saying do it like this, which I think is helpful to the average snapper. I'd like to get your opinion on a replacement for a Canon 1100D. Would a 90D or an R50 be better suited replacement? 99% of the time I shoot sports photography. Cheers
I've just started using nd filters for daytime long exposures, keep forgetting to turn it on but that's not a bad thing because I guarantee i would forget to turn it back off for normal shooting 😂
Hi Paul, have you got any tips for using a camera remote shutter switch for long exposure? I now have two but neither seem to work with my Canon 1300D, despite saying they are compatible 🙁 Is there a setting I need to change after plugging the switch in the side of the camera at all?
Question. Why does a 75-300 seem to zoom in closer then say a 28-300? I guess I have been searching wrong I just can't find the answer. Thanks .. to anyone that knows
The 28-300mm set to 28mm will give a wider field of view and the 75-300mm set to 75mm will give a narrow field of view and the subject will appear much closer due to the longer focal length. But at 300mm the lenses should give exactly the same results.

Hi Paul! Is the long exposure noise reduction also applied to the RAW file? Canon user here. Thanks!
Is there a downside leaving Long Exposure Noise Reduction on Auto, even while not taking long exposures?
Now I know, Thanks Paul
Now I know! Thanks Paul.
Thanks again Paul ✨📸✨
I’ve just purchased a cannon rebel 7. Tips on how to shoot the Northern Lights would be great 😊
This is great information. Thank you
