This concert was advertised as John and his Big Band in typical Aussie understatement, it's a 100+ piece orchestra for crying out loud. lol This song is one of the last songs of the night after he has already sung his heart out for nearly 3 hours, and Farnsey also has a way of getting into the emotions of your soul. A couple of songs worth checking have been mentioned below, plus these are worth a look also. The reason you haven't heard of him is because the US music industry is a closed little club. When John Farnham went to the US they didn't know which genre to put him in so his US promotions manager got him a couple of gigs in a little jazz club, where the MC introduced him as Jack Phantom. Couldn't even be bothered getting his name correct, so being a bit disheartened he wandered home to concentrate on his loyal fan base. The experience did give him inspiration to write a couple of good songs about missing his family, like this one. -Burn For You.. ruclips.net/video/4PPvOhPspEA/видео.html -Angels.. Notice how he holds the mike below his chest, both mikes are a metre away, which he does all the time to not drown out the other singers. John and Lisa Edwards, a top singer in her own right, and one of John's back up singers for 20+ years. ruclips.net/video/5_2NJRIdBO8/видео.html -To show the calibre of his other back up Singers, showing you have to be good in your own right, just like Lisa. Vanetta Fields and Lindsey Field. ruclips.net/video/_x6N94OEkZQ/видео.html -Please Don't Ask Me.. This one with Olivia Newton John, who we have recently lost. John has also had major cancer surgery including removal of part of his jaw and we may not hear him sing again. So let's enjoy this one as well.. ruclips.net/video/2uV_tZODfK8/видео.html -When Something Is Wrong With My Baby.... And even when he is singing with one of the most powerful voices on the planet, Jimmy Barnes, he still put the mike away from his face and closer to Jonny Diesel on guitar. ruclips.net/video/AU_bCchDWF4/видео.html Or this version. ruclips.net/video/RAlFHSPLHpo/видео.html -When The War Is Over… Possibly one of his greatest vocals. ruclips.net/video/lfWrXc5eN8g/видео.html -Or is the greatest. Gethsemane.. ruclips.net/video/k5woMZtClhI/видео.html Besides having the best voice ever, JF can adjust his tone, pitch, volume, to match the person he is singing with to either match them or sing just under them depending on who's the head line act, he will even back himself down when he is the head line to give others their moment to shine, and if my ears were sensitive enough, I wouldn't be surprised if he could vary his vibrato and all of those other things that voices can do so he could accentuate the other singers.
He did 34 concerts that year 22 in Melbourne in 30 days huge effort, that concert went 2 hours 20 min finished at 12 24 am , he chats to the crowd laughs alot the help song was the last of the night his second encore

John Farnham is HUGE in Australia. He has wonderful talent, can sing in three octaves in over twenty genres and is a consummate showman with charismatic appeal. A film about his music career of six decades comes out on May 18th, named, 'Finding The Voice'. John's most famous song, reaching the top hits charts in many countries, is 'You're The Voice' and he is known as 'The Voice' in Australia. There are lots of his videos on You Tube.
Welcome to the Farnsey rabbit hole. John Farnham is one of the best artists you've never heard of. Superbly talented, incredibly versatile and just all round nice bloke. You can tell how much he's loved by his relationship with his audience. Thank you for your thoughtful reaction.❤ John is recovering from radical cancer surgery late last year when they removed half of his jaw, followed by a recent scare with respiratory complications. I'm sure that knowing his music is finding a new audience will lift his spirits, although he's irrepressible and never lets anything get him down - he was apparently joking around right before they put him under. *Next video should probably be "You're the Voice" as this was a hit worldwide and earned him his moniker The Voice. Choose the live version from his Classic Jack concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. *Playing to Win from the same concert, a high octane song that he wrote himself. *Long Way to the Top, also from the same concert, a joyous cacophony of sound that has to be seen to be believed. He came back on stage after waiting back stage listening to the cheering and chants of Sadie by the crowd and even members of the orchestra. In that next and final encore he sang Sadie and then finished with It's a Long Way to the Top.

im really amazed as a brit you would say '"far-ham" when you have a place called Farnham in surrey and you brits say it as "farnim" which is the correct pronounciation for john farnham
@barnowl so you're saying that John himself, or his family, don't even know how to pronounce their own surname and they are wrong in using a very soft 'h'?
It was so sad to hear you say that rather being focussed in “the moment” that the focus would be on everyone else’s perception of YOUR moment! That is damn depressing. Live your life moment by moment…. You only get ONE chance at it

Jimmy Barnes (Australia’s former King of Rock) was born April, 28 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland. His original name was 'James Dixon Swan' and his father was a featherweight boxing champion in Glasgow. In 1961/62 his family moved to Australia. After playing in a school band (he replaced Bon Scott (who joined AC/DC) as lead vocalist in the band Fraternity. Then, aged 16 and a half, he joined Cold Chisel in 1973. First they played the pubs of Adelaide, then they played the pubs of Australia and finally they got a record contract in 1976. Now, Cold Chisel are Australian history - one of the best bands Australia ever had. They split up in 1983 because they thought they weren't playing good music anymore and they didn'twant to rip their fans off with another album.

Try listening to Your the voice it will blow you away
Try his I burn for you it’s beautiful
im really amazed as a brit you would say '"far-ham" when you have a place called Farnham in surrey and you brits say it as "farnim" which is the correct pronounciation for john farnham
Not so - the 'ham' should be pronounced as it comes from the word 'hamlet' meaning a very small village.
@@barnowl5774 then you havent been to farnham because that is how is said whether you like it or not barrowboy
@barnowl so you're saying that John himself, or his family, don't even know how to pronounce their own surname and they are wrong in using a very soft 'h'?
@@barnowl5774 English isn't a phonetic language.
@@macman1469 ham - h-a-m This IS phonetic. I referred to our pronunciation of if, not the phonetics of John's surname.
His name is pronounced "Farnum" or " Farnsey " . Cool reaction
Johnny F#%kin Farnham 🤟

It was so sad to hear you say that rather being focussed in “the moment” that the focus would be on everyone else’s perception of YOUR moment! That is damn depressing. Live your life moment by moment…. You only get ONE chance at it
