- This is one of my favourite singers. he has a fantastic voice, just a shame we had to loose him so young.
I have bought all of his cd's and dvd. if you like him too, then buy them also, well worth the money.

This is my parents 'song'. They are both 84, and Dad has Alzheimers. It's the cruellest of diseases that has stolen my Mum's lovely gentle husband and replaced him with a stranger. Sometimes when we play this, she gets him back for just a moment, and he is once again that tall, handsome dark haired lad in uniform who sang this to her and stole her heart. Love. It's the answer to everything.
My husband is always singing The answer and has dementia .but his voice isn’t as good as it was

What a great voice I play this song quite often very much underrated in my opinion better voice than Tom Jones but the later got the brakes unfortunately for David Reading about him from many years ago apparently he was a very lovely man and also his wife was a lovely lady who misses David every day and when he passed away the said IF ONLY HEAVEN HAD A PHONE

Robbed of the stardom and rewards that come with it. David’s voice is pure gold, he sadly left this world way too soon. He makes me proud to be Welsh, thankfully we are left with his legacy his of wonderful music. God Bless x
I have just discovered this song and i love it.
I agree had a fab voice my mum lived in spain and loved him .unfortunately I lost my mum in june . We go to tenerife and a lot of the artist knew David how sad taken too young

I've heard this a thousand times in pubs and clubs across Scotland, this is the first time I've heard this man sing it. Awesome voice, he is definitely up there with the best of them including Tom Jones. Wonderful song too.

This was my beloved hubby and mine special song , he passed away 2 years ago and when I listened to that song at his cremation my sobbing could be heard a mile away and many of times I think I shouldn't torture myself by listening to it but I feel still we're together ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

A friend from England sent me a recommendation to listen to David, l had not heard of him in the United States.Needless to say l was blown away with his hauntingly beautiful voice. I was able to hear him on RUclips, then promptly sent to England for his CD, Loved everything ,especially A working man l am, and The answer to every thing. Was devastated to learn of his death, but his beautiful voice will live on. Valerie Gilbert.

He was a lovely man he loved my children, I knew him personally and his then wife penny. They were really lovely people, sad day when David died. xx
The best singer to come out of Wales, what lovely clear words. You cannot tell what half of these modern singers are singing. David come back and learn these young singers how to sing. We will never forget you, our loss is heavens gain. RIP David.

i met David his brother used to run a bar in Newport s wales and my band was practicing in a garage and we were playing one of David's tracks and the door knocks we opened the door and mike from the bar was at the door with David so we invited them in and David said we played his song very well and to keep it up so we had a lovely chat he was a great man so thank you for this memory

I'm 28, and my nan used to always play david Alexander songs god bless her soul. She absolutely loved this one and would sing to the top of her voice. I'm so glad she introduced me to his music as he had an amazing voice. So much better than the dreadful music they produce nowadays. Miss you nan ❤

he lived not far from me his wife had a puppet duck and made a single you can watch it on youtube is called googie the liverpool duck david died in 1995 the same year as my mum and his grave is close to my mums so always visit him when i go and see my mum x

I met David Alexander way back in the mid 70's when he was doing the clubs in Liverpool. I can remember us all leaving the club at closing time and going into China town for very late suppers. He was the nicest guy and so very much in love with wife :) I was so sorry to learn of his death but he remains with me in my memories of him and his songs :)
