- This is one of my favourite singers. he has a fantastic voice, just a shame we had to loose him so young.
I have bought all of his cd's and dvd. if you like him too, then buy them also, well worth the money.

I agree had a fab voice my mum lived in spain and loved him .unfortunately I lost my mum in june . We go to tenerife and a lot of the artist knew David how sad taken too young

This is my parents 'song'. They are both 84, and Dad has Alzheimers. It's the cruellest of diseases that has stolen my Mum's lovely gentle husband and replaced him with a stranger. Sometimes when we play this, she gets him back for just a moment, and he is once again that tall, handsome dark haired lad in uniform who sang this to her and stole her heart. Love. It's the answer to everything.
My husband is always singing The answer and has dementia .but his voice isn’t as good as it was

I've heard this a thousand times in pubs and clubs across Scotland, this is the first time I've heard this man sing it. Awesome voice, he is definitely up there with the best of them including Tom Jones. Wonderful song too.

My mum loved him she & her friends went to see him in every working men's club in Stoke! My mum passed away in march last year & listening to this makes me remember how much I loved her & how special she was & how I will never get over her passing RIP mum love u for ever

What a great voice I play this song quite often very much underrated in my opinion better voice than Tom Jones but the later got the brakes unfortunately for David Reading about him from many years ago apparently he was a very lovely man and also his wife was a lovely lady who misses David every day and when he passed away the said IF ONLY HEAVEN HAD A PHONE

he lived not far from me his wife had a puppet duck and made a single you can watch it on youtube is called googie the liverpool duck david died in 1995 the same year as my mum and his grave is close to my mums so always visit him when i go and see my mum x

My dad played this all the time. He turned 84 last year and died 3 weeks after his birthday. We played this song at his funeral as it reminded him of mam who died a few year before.

His songs have such a strong and emotional hold in my memory. I remember listening and singing along with them with my grandparents when i was very young. Sadly they are not with me anymore but when i listen to david alexander i remember those days like it was yesterday. An incredible voice that made a huge impact on me.
He was singing in a local shopping centre to us, my late mother got him to autograph her cassette cover. Love this song, reminds me of that day and of her :) x

I was privileged to be at making of this DVD & with retakes David was singing for 4 hours unbelievable. Make favourite song by him is "The Power of Love" 6 minutes of a pure golden voice. Still miss his concerts & the fabulous xmas concerts at Southport Theatre. Can't believe it was 1995 when sadly David past away in Tenerife. R-I-P Mighty voice.

Met the great man at the old BICC club in Prescott in the eighties. I was a friend of the resident drummer, so was fortunate to watch the show backstage from behind the curtains, and at the end of his (many) encores, asked me if he could soothe his throat with my pint of John Smiths bitter. Don't often give ale away for nothing, but in his case I made an exception. A much missed voice and man.

I met David Alexander way back in the mid 70's when he was doing the clubs in Liverpool. I can remember us all leaving the club at closing time and going into China town for very late suppers. He was the nicest guy and so very much in love with wife :) I was so sorry to learn of his death but he remains with me in my memories of him and his songs :)

I'm a 63 year old elvis fan since the age of 8. Elvis was a white man with a black person's soul. He helped path the way for black people to get seen and heard singing .he was never a racist.

A friend from England sent me a recommendation to listen to David, l had not heard of him in the United States.Needless to say l was blown away with his hauntingly beautiful voice. I was able to hear him on RUclips, then promptly sent to England for his CD, Loved everything ,especially A working man l am, and The answer to every thing. Was devastated to learn of his death, but his beautiful voice will live on. Valerie Gilbert.
It is a testament to David Alexander's truly great talent that they refer to this concert as "The Concert". Indeed everyone that has listened to David's voice will know instantly what you are referring to when one says "The Concert". Recorded live on the 9th February 1994. He would die within a year of this truly brilliant concert performance on the 4th February 1995 aged 66 from a heart attack resulting from a diagnosis the November before of cardiomegaly (an enlarged heart). The world has been a sader place over the last 24 years for his loss. God rest David.

I saw this great man" live"at a social club of Plaxton Coachbuilders in Scarborough in the late 70s he brought the house down then. What a fantastic voice , his sound will live forever. I love to sing but I wish I had a voice like Davids.
