    As a new knitter, I greatly appreciate the clear, concise instruction. Some posters talk too much & even confuse me sometimes & others have such poor video you can't see what they're doing. Please keep posting!! I love my free knitting "classes"!

    SO well done. My whole life I've never known anything other than how to straight knit and purl and I've knitted the same basic scarf for everyone until it's almost a joke! I use youtube for many things but it never occurred to me to try it for knitting and suddenly, I have a whole new world opened up providing the instructor is clear and the video is well done. You did both! Thank you for making me feel I can attempt this and I can't wait to get started!

    You taught me so much in this video.... a new stitch and you demystified the 'knitting more than once in ONE stitch' thing! I am excited to try it (yeah.... because 2 blankets and a hat just aren't enough projects going on all at once for me LOL). THANK YOU!!! 🌻

    so my first grandaughter was born 5 months ago and I so wanted to knit her a blanket as my mum knitted for my children but the most I could do was a plain old stitch. so I googled free knitting patterns and chose this one . made it look so easy to follow and so far I've made 2 lovely blankets one for now and one made with a thicker wool for winter. so chuffed with myself and my grandaughter loves her blankets

    Thank you for posting this video. I was looking for just the right stitch for a project I wanted and this is perfect. I found a solution for me with the purl three together. What I do is purl the purl side row with the continental method and the wrong side row with the American way (throw). It makes my purling 3 together so much easier. Thanks again.

    Thank you for this pattern. I had tried another trinity stitch pattern and found that the entire work seemed to 'slant': that was because they did not invert the pattern on the fourth row, with the P3tog followed by the (K,P,K) all in the same stitch.
    Thank you for 'saving' my original project.
    Would you have any advice/warnings about any common mistakes with this pattern?
    Thank you.

    I am a beginner knitter. So this may be a ridiculous question to many of you, please be kind. How do you incorporate this or other stich patterns into a clothing pattern? Do you go according to inches or use same cast on as your gartner stich (ie) sweater and use this pattern instead?

  • @bjarbj944
    @bjarbj944 10 лет назад +1

    Does this change the gauge of a yarn significantly to knit it in this stitch? I want to make a circle scarf big enough to wear as a hood as my winter jack doesnt have a hood, could I use this stitch with a pattern or should I expect it to change the gauge? It seems all of the removing of stitches could become quite complicate if using this with something advanced like a sweater.

    • @PleasantSeas
      @PleasantSeas  10 лет назад +2

      It is a tighter stitch, but if you make a swatch of this stitch in the yarn and with the needles you're planning on using, get the gauge then calculate your scarf or sweater, it should be no problem.

    Hi PleasantSeas! I've gotten pretty far along on a scarf I'm trying to knit, but for some reason I'm noticing that the pattern has switched to the opposite side from where I started from. What am I doing wrong? Am I supposed to switch my stitches when I start a new set of rows? For instance, since this is a 4-row pattern, and the 1st row calls for purl stitches, would the second time I start the pattern, would my first row (AKA the 5th row) be knit stitches? Thank you! :o)
    Cheers,

    Should there be a border stitch? And also, when you first cast on, sometimes I've read that the first stitch doesn't count when counting for your pattern ~ in this case the multiples of 4 ~ can you clarify for me? Thanks so much, Im a new knitter (first sent a message under Leorre's account) Thanks again, Tina

    • @andychen7390
      @andychen7390 10 лет назад

      try again. pay very close attention to how many stitches there are and the order of the repeats. make sure it is a multiple of 4. on rows 2 and 4, the order is different. row 2 is p3tog then k,p,k into the same stitch. row 4 is k,p,k into the first stitch the p3tog. try again and if you still get it wrong, report back and i can help.

    if you use a less bulky yarn, does it make it easier to p3 at once? just wondered because I attempted a pattern similar to this recently, and I was using chunky alpaca yarn, and it was soooo difficult. decided to pull it out and try something new. this looks really cool and I wanna attempt it eventually, but I can't help but think my chunky yarn and small needles might not be so good for this kinda thing... (?)

    • @PleasantSeas
      @PleasantSeas  10 лет назад

      No, the thickness of yarn won't change how easy this pattern will be. Make sure that your needles work with your yarn gauge and make sure to knit loose when doing this stitch. It helps to not pull so tight when working the pattern. Hope that helps.
