Second best for me. "Not someone who is loved. I'm an idea.. a state of mind" is my favorite. Considering it's a love story between the two. Also, the airplane seen at the end. The original line is, "the shit I do for you." Very much a push and pull love story which is spot on. --- oh, and they cut the scene of Joker slapping Harley.
@@DuuuvalTWDIn the original helicopter scene Joker scolds Harley for making him waste his time having to save her and after an argument he throws her from the helicopter but the released cut makes it seem like he pushes her to safety. The original cut was also told in chronological order it started with June Moon going on a trip to the Amazon and she discovers Enchantress. Then we would cut to Arkham were we Joker returned to his cell after Harley gave him electroshock treatments. Then we would see longer scenes of Joker seducing Harley so he can escape ending with the scene were he electroshocks her for revenge of himself getting electroshock. The original cut was built all around Joker and Harley and there story was the main driving force of the plot but because of the backlash to Batman v Superman being dark WB had the movie hacked up to cut out all the abusive Joker romance plot and film new Joker scenes to make the relationship seem romantic instead of abusive. Joker originally teamed with Enchantress in the original 3rd act and she promised him he could rule over Gotham with Harley and Batman by his side. Joker was portrayed as an abusive crime lord boyfriend in the original darker cut which was more a hard pg 13 with no pop music.
That chemical scene is one of my all time favourite movie scenes ever. I just loved the tone, the music, the build up, the acting, the writing EVERYTHING about that scene was perfection
Honestly, I think Jared Leto doesn't deserve all the hate he's been getting. I don't get why people hate him so much.... he has put a lot of effort into this role and I think it pays off. He is kind of a cool alter ego of the joker and I really like it. I would love to see him play more role in upcoming DCEU movies after Snyder cut
@@kiwigamer773 well frr I agree I get those strong vibes that joker is smth he worked upon to bring it out well .. Perhaps he wanted to give it a touch of himself not just pure imitation of what the others did- besides do check out *still with you* mate
The reason Letos Joker is so divisive is because some people just don't like the style of this Joker. In order to enjoy or like this Joker you have to be into the style of this Joker. This Joker is obviously a modern capital G gangster the tats the Grill all of that is meant to make this Joker look like a gangster rapper. In order to like this Joker you have to be into the Joker having that style. Letos performance is great for what this Joker is supposed to be but the problem is some people don't want what this Joker is supposed to be. For me I'm a fan of it because I can accept the style there going for.
I disagree. Jared Leto's performance as the Joker was so bad that it actually made previous Joker performances look really good in comparison. You could watch Heath Ledger's Joker or Joaquin Phoenix's Joker and realize how much better they were at bringing a serious, compelling, and intimidating Joker to the screen. Jared just didn't have the right charisma or presence for such a role and his acting style was so exaggerated and over the top that it completely undermined the character. In my opinion, Jared should just stick to his music career and leave the acting to the professionals.
@@ChuckieFinster_290his joker was based off the original one he isn’t like the serious jokers. It just backfired because everyone knows the serious ones.
@@ChuckieFinster_290I get it everyone loves heath. Most people are going to say Heath was the best because he just dead right now and they don't want to tell the truth. Jared's joker to me is the closest thing we going to have to the comic books. But at the same time it has its own flare.
@@ChuckieFinster_290nah u just a hater Jared literally convinced me he was insane and a Psychopath so that might be your opinion, but not everyone agrees
The scene where they jump in those chemicals was one of the best joker scenes ever .I really thought atleast half of the movie would be like this exploring their abussive relationship and how a doctor Harley Quinzel falls in love with a lunatic ..but noo they had to go for the funny group movie that become all friends in the end this movie had so much potential damn ..
Hopefully he gets the Batman movie. With Ben Affleck directing he'll really have his chance to shine. I still haven't seen this movie, but I'm buying the blue ray and I hope it turns out good.
if they make a Classic joker everyone will be ok with that you will see we will never see this joker again......maiby but not THIS Thing he was still a cool Villain none the less but heaths joker was so perfect so the joker is a big Heritage my opinion 😌 btw Monhogan is really Close
The Harley/Joker motorcycle scene is my favorite part of the movie as a whole. "I'm an idea, a state of mind..." "Please, just let me in, I won't hurt you, please I won't hurt you..." *draws gun on Joker* "Please don't hurt me... I'll be your friend!" 😆 too good.
Riverfilly153 Chris Nolan on dark knight: let's show the joker as an idea with a sense of mystique, and make the audience question if he was right. David Ayer in suicide squad: let's just have joker say he's an idea. That's nuance right?
I always thought this Joker was underrated and unappreciated. He always gave off this punk vibe to me, like a gang leader who’s been operating the criminal underworld for decades. Wish we got to see more of him.
Royce Eapen I mean a psychotic anarchist/terrorist dressed like a clown that manipulates not just heroes and the law but criminals too that states very thought provoking opinions on society and human nature and doesn't care about materialistic shit like money but only cares about watching the world burn. That's not a Joker to you? You must not read many comics if you don't consider that a Joker. Jared isn't the problem but this incarnation of the joker is barely comic accurate. I've never really seen a strip club owning, Lamborghini driving pimp Joker before
Stop fanboying. Saying that you should "go with it" is ridiculous. You can like a movie and have problems with it, but once you say that you should just blatantly ignore problems that a movie has just because it is a comic book movie is crossing the line. We should all point out problems that we have with movies regardless of what they are so that filmmakers improve upon those problems with future films.
Justin Kelly no movie is perfect, fixing all the "problems" this film had would have inevitably led to more problems and so on and so forth. If you didn't like the movie, that's fine, go enjoy something else. But when you go into a film and all you do is nitpick it, then you're watching it for the wrong reason and it's obviously not for you, and let us who did enjoy it enjoy it in peace.
I have absolutely no problem with the fact that you like the movie, that's totally cool. But saying that you shouldn't fix the problems in a movie is a really bad thing because if people constantly say that, companies like DC will realize that people do not care about quality and will make mediocre movies.
He could have been an amazing joker. Hell, his performance in ZSJL was great. One of my favorite Joker scenes in fact. If he was just given more of a chance, he could really be a better joker.
Letos joker is the most comic accurate joker there is for cinema down to a T, David Ayer did a wonderful job combining all types of jokers from different materials throughout jokers comic history. He literally played the part of a Clown Prince of Crime. Can't wait for the David Ayer cut for more of Leto's Joker and of Zack Snyder cut as well. DC making a comeback
You've been saying that to literally everyone that has criticized anything about this movie. I guess youre one of those DC fans that just cannot accept the fact that some people do not like these movies
@@AimForMyHead81Na Letos Joker works for what hes supposed to be he just suffers by coming directly after Ledger and from being directly compared to Ledgers Joker even though he's not meant to be anything like Ledgers Joker. If Letos Joker didn't exist and you directly compared Phoenix to Ledger he wouldn't be as good either no actor is going to touch Ledger ever because he is in the best written DC movie ever made with the best director of a DC movie ever made. Suicide Squad was directed by David Ayer who makes Hood themed movies with nearly everything he makes so he made a hood themed Joker if you aren't into that style I can see not liking it but as a David Ayer Joker this version perfectly fits his style.
We all need to remember Leto isn't at fault here, well at least it's 90% not his fault. I blame the directing and writing. Leto is an actor, meant to be directed based on what he's given. From what I understand, Leto was given these lines. As an actor, you do the best you can with what you're given.
Letos Joker is great though he just doesn't work within the DCEU universe as built by Zack Snyder. The difference here is the DCEU as built by their first two films with Man of Steel and Batman v Superman were these dark edgy bleak comic book movies. Now this movie doesn't at all fit with those first two flicks this is a flashy over the top very comic book-type movie that doesn't even feel in the same universe as the first 2 Snyder movies. The problem with Letos Joker is he was specifically created and designed to work within the context of the world created here in this movie by David Ayer which is a more colorful fun comic book-type world so he doesn't mesh at all with what you want from the Joker after watching Man of Steel and Batman v Superman because he's overly flashy and doesn't feel like he should even exist in the same universe as those two films. However, if you take this movie by itself and just judge it as its own movie I think Letos Joker is great here and his flashy colorful style totally fits within this movie's universe.
@@liftyswifty4125 what’s “shit” looking back?? Jared? Bc I KNOW you’re not talking about Heath. Heath will never get out performed as the joker. He is cemented as the greatest joker in history . Phoenix played a good joker but his was different. Phoenix joker would get destroyed by Batman so he’s out of the question.. Heath is and forever will be the greatest joker performance.. even in the future with multiple more portrayals
i know this is old but look at pheonix’s joker it was amazing i just think he’s extremely hard to watch as joker loved him in requiem for a dream because he was genuine this feels like a cheap gimmic
I wouldn’t say the problem was him. The script was bad like some lines didn’t make sense at all so he did what he could. The only thing I didn’t like from him as an actor was the laughing he did. It felt odd but everything else was script
people don't understand that in suicide squad, Joker wasn't really the bad guy or the important character, that's why there were not enough scenes of him. I personally think Jared Leto did a pretty good job on his version of Joker and it's unnecessary to compare him with other jokers because other Jokers have their own back story, and Leto's Joker is like probably a rich crazy dude, mafia/gangster or sumn. We still don't know much about his version of Joker and people are being too hard on Leto's Joker. The other two famous Jokers we have now are not like Leto's Joker. They don't dress like him, pretty sure won't find them in the strip club (unless it's the place they want to blow up), they don't tatt their body. Ledger's and Phoenix's went crazy because the world made them crazy. Ledger's saw the world as a joke and as for Pheonix's, the world saw him as a joke. And for Leto's he's Joker because he can be a Joker. He has the money and the source. He can have everything in the world. I don't think the world made him crazy, it's the thought of having the power made him has no fear to do anything he wants. For his performance, I don't think it's cringe-y or anything. I think for this ver of Joker, which the concept is like an arrogant rich dude who knows he can make anyone bow for him, especially Harley during that truck scene. He wasn't scared of Harley because he knew Harley wouldn't kill him because he knew Harley was head over heels for him. Obviously, the scriptwriter could have given him some better lines but the vibe Leto gave was good enough to fit this ver of Joker. For me personally, I see this ver of Joker is like the more psychotic and crazy ver of Christian Grey from 50 shades.
Exactly: every actor interprets the character differently. People need to get over themselves. I hate it when people are like, "that actor didn't do as good as job as the other actor did" Well go watch the version with the other actor and get over yourself seesh.
Rainy Quinn ur right lmao,i didnt know the joker was a kiss my ring club owner mob boss who shops at hot topic, growls like a cat and says things like "hunka hunka"(sarcasm)
wholelottastairway8 well you know jack Nicolsons joker was also a *mob boss* right? And the mob boss joker is the bronze Age joker. Dont you know? And also all his outfits were inspired from the comics and he has on his classic tuxedo in the movie also.
Really hope they make a story about joker and Harley. I was chuffed when she got her puddin back at the end of Suicide Squad! Great scenes and Leto makes an awesome joker.
I actually thought that he cares about her in the movie since he actually made sure himself that she goes back to the joker instead of his henchmen doing that for him. In one of the scenes he actually is on the ground surrounded by knives bc of her not being there, and he even dives into that chemical where she fell into just to get her and I believe save her from drowning. Even if she wasn’t drowning, he would still have done it
Does Michelle know about this? Well, at least You have plans for what You're going to do after You leave The White House. So, uh good luck with that I guess and happy hunting.
for me, Ledger, Phoenix and even our boy Leto here did a good job portraying JOKER. Sadly for Leto... well, according to some source, the director/production deleted much of his scenes. What's left in the final cut was just 30% of the supposedly, total of his scenes.
The Crimson fucker notice how you said act circles and I was talkin about the laugh - maybe read a comment properly before trying to leave some smart ass reply that you for some reason think people will give a shit about - was probably my fault, it seems three lines of text is to much for you to fuckin comprehend
I respect your opinion, but I strongly disagree. His laugh has got to be one of the worst interpretations I have ever heard. For God's sake it's a damn barn door.
I am sure this joker as written to be loved by young female audience. He is fit, he is dressed like a douchebag, he has a cool car, he has tattoos, silver teeth, he is an abusive partner...he got all what girls love most.
And that's how to ruin the Joker's fame. In my opinion. Clearly. But, I really hate this Joker. He's not insane. He's not crazy. He's not strange. He Is just a kid with 15 years. Like a really noisy kid. The Heath Ledger was crazy. He wasn't afraid of a gun. Jared was. Heath wouldn't give a shit if he got shot or not. But, of course that's my opinion.
He did too much for this movie. He is such a devoted actor, he deserved so much more screen time. I was so disappointed. He would have been one of the greatest Jokers, in my opinion.
SnakeStaffMagic it was originally supposed to be at the end , Harley was supposed to say no to him and remain on the squad. thus leading him to throw a smoke bomb to how his abusive nature
What bothered me the most about the last scene was that the chemicals were strong enough to instantly dissolve clothes but not strong enough to melt their skin off apparently 😂😂😂✋
r. jai That kinda had no excuse, hell I can make up a movie plot in less than 2 weeks that is better than this piece if shit, the weeks don't matter, it's the shitty ass writers
The plot is only one aspect to a story. Having a good plot is just a fraction of a good script. Also, it's very rare for most writers to just shit gold in a matter of weeks, unless your John Hughes. Deadpool had a great script, because they work shopped it for like a decade. On top of that, they have to make it work within the limitations of the universe and the standards set by the studio. So please, don't be so arrogant. Writing good stories takes time.
Tremain Johnson i doubt that. I highly freaking doubt that. The dark knight took months if not yeats to write. It takes more than weeks to write a good film script.
The performances were better than the movie but not enough to consider the movie any good. Would've loved for joker to actually matter in the film. Or anyone for that matter.

It's fair to say that Jack, Mark and Heath (RIP) don't have anything to worry about...
jared leto needs his own joker movie

Esmeralda Macias haha jokes.
Royce Eapen the biggest flaw with this joker is that he actually cares about harley
I've never really seen a strip club owning, Lamborghini driving pimp Joker before
All of the dialogue in this movie is so cringy
Nick I've read better dialogue in fan fiction written by 13 yr olds.
Nick reread the comics without rose tinted glasses, it's all cringe worthy. Just go with it and enjoy 🙃
Justin Kelly
no movie is perfect, fixing all the "problems" this film had would have inevitably led to more problems and so on and so forth.

@@AimForMyHead81😂😂😂😂😂
@@AimForMyHead81facts
The fact that joker only appears in the movie for 5 total minutes and he still does a good part

I wouldn’t say the problem was him. The script was bad like some lines didn’t make sense at all so he did what he could. The only thing I didn’t like from him as an actor was the laughing he did. It felt odd but everything else was script
From what I see I really like this Joker I hope we get to see more of him in future movies
He did cameo in BoP. Since DC is bothering to continue using his design that may mean they haven’t completely given up on a potential return👀
We wont but i wanna seee more of h
people don't understand that in suicide squad, Joker wasn't really the bad guy or the important character, that's why there were not enough scenes of him.

Even if she wasn’t drowning, he would still have done it
So the chemicals burned off parts of their clothes, but not their skin though?

r. jai That kinda had no excuse, hell I can make up a movie plot in less than 2 weeks that is better than this piece if shit, the weeks don't matter, it's the shitty ass writers
