- Without doubt this is my most anticipated game of all time. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was the catalyst that created this entire channel over 8 years ago!! To be here now with the MEATY section of the FF7 story that is Rebirth. I've done theory after theory, trailer reaction vids for days, speculated on news and held my breath for this game long enough. Its time to dive in and see if Rebirth truly lives up to its early metacritic reviews. This could be the ending stream of all streams for the channel. Potentially. I can't wait to get in and have you guys along for the ride! I'm going to be SLOOOW burn playing this playthrough and enjoying Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth while I'm mid travels. Starting here in Bali and probably get to the ending in Australia. Twins getting married so there may be some chop in the playthrough consistency. May be a tech issue or two lmao. I think replaying XV would be a wonderful idea Pez because XV is how a lot of us found your channel. It could bring a lot of good nostalgia, even if it isn't terribly old. Plus it would be interesting to see how well it holds up and it may help fill the void while we wait for part 3
I came here to say that Barret's trial absolutely and completely wrecked me. It was hard watching it again. What an incredible character.
Seeing Aerith's trial helps understand why she answered as she did when Cid said (trying his best) : Oh, at least your mother died on her own terms
and Aerith : did she ?
She got Aerith to safety maybe that is on her own terms idk
The Aerith trial was covered in Traces of Two Pasts, completely identical down to the dialogue - if anyone is interested in Tifa and Aerith as characters, I highly recommend reading that book.
I had to skip the Gilgamesh stuff because I'm dying to see your reactions to the ending! Looking forward to the next 8 hours of video!

I tend to just use whichever character I like in battle regardless of utility. In the OG, my party was Cloud, Aerith and Red/Cid, then it was Cloud, Cid and Vincent. I do like how in 7R, they make each character a bit more specialized and give moments to use all of them though.

Tserith is sooo interesting, I've always loved them (and Aerith's interactions with the Turks in general). There is a very cute EC story about Tseng watching out for Aerith's safety in the slums.

I think in Part 3, Ancient weapons for Cid and Vincent need to be a thing! And I think I know where they can be picked up...
I mean, Vincent is ex-Turk. So what he says to the Turks makes perfect sense.

17:28 The propaganda at Peasant headquarters is out of control! I don't know why you're acting like I was attacking Bri for liking Yuffie lol! It was just my opinion, it's not like I hate Bri now because she likes Yuffie and I don't. 🤣 I guess I was just slightly disappointed because I loved her in the DLC. Obviously she was way worse in og, I'm not denying that haha.
Edit: Also my comment had nothing to do with her gameplay, obviously she's great in combat.
Anyway I can't wait to hear your thoughts and theories about the end parts. This is the juicy stuff.
Btw Bri I was the exact same about Aerith in og. I was benching her the whole game because she felt useless and when she died I didn't care because she was the weakest character. I was like: "cool I can put her materia somewhere else now!" 😂 I was a heartless brat. I mean I was quite literally a dumb kid when I played og so that's part of it lol.
I think about that sometimes, what if they made it so only Aerith could use summons in og? Like Yuna. Then you would care more about her gameplay wise, so that would add to the feeling of losing an important party member when she died. Idk
