At least she spoiled it on a local bulletin and not a national one. Heck, maybe her niece lives in a different part of the UK that isn't served by BBC North West, so she might've not realized at all that there was a spoiler at the end of the bulletin.
It ended up in the newspapers and online, so the news travelled all over the country.😂
@@ainsbrittain8954 was it, perhaps by chance, also mentioned by one of the weather presenters of BBC Look North (either North East and Cumbria or Yorkshire, or both)?
That's such an easy mistake to make - she answered without thinking - we've all done it. Apparently, the family managed to keep the blunder from the niece and the surprise went ahead unspoilt. All's well that ends well.

"BBC's Kawser Quamer gives update on niece's surprise party after 'gaffe' live on air"
Kawser wrote on Sunday night: "My gag order has now been lifted and I can safely reveal my niece's surprise birthday party this evening was a huge success!"
She continued: "[My niece] did end up seeing the video and some news coverage too - but lucky for me, we had successfully thrown another niece, her younger cousin, a surprise 16th party last week - so this niece thought I was talking about that party instead - and we happily did not correct her! Phew.
"Anyway THANK YOU for your wonderful interest, concern, comments and kind birthday wishes. I am so grateful my poor unintentional gaffe did not ruin my niece's special day! She laughed so much she cried! This will definitely be a birthday that NONE of us will forget!"
