This is a dark day for Britain. 348 Labour MP's voted IN FAVOUR of stopping the winter fuel allowance. 53 labour MP's were complicit by abstaining to keep their well paid jobs or not voting at all as 'too busy'. Only ONE Labour MP had the guts to do the right thing along with all the other parties who voted to keep this pensioners lifeline. These labour MP's are the same ones who just 18% of the population voted for, & who who recently voted themselves a £10,000pa pay rise. The same group that gave a £10,000pa pay rise to their union comrades. To add to this dreadful litany, a senior female labour cabinet minister has only recently put in a £3,700 expenses claim to heat & power her SECOND home. So 12 pensioners freeze to death, so Missy can heat her second home - and ALL from taxpayers money. Sounds very much like "we are all equal, but SOME are MORE equal than others". Its only two months into their reign. Lets hope we'll still have 'free' elections in 5 years time. If today is anything to go by, I doubt it.
I loathe these lot. I wish them all a bleak future with full of bad luck at every turn.

The Tory spend list,£60M wasted on RAF Scampton, £400M on Ruanda both not needed as the back log reduced. £980m given to the train operators to during the strikes, strupike resolved within 2 weeke of the new Govenment. On top is the up to 130 corrupt PPE contracts worth £15Billion. Last is the tax increase that Hunt gave many pensioners, when he didn't raise the allowance , but lowered NI as a vote catcher.

It costs £15 billion to pay for illegal immigration and there are currently 5,000 empty hotel beds around the uk , costing £200 a night per bed , just incase they might be required . It is cold today, I have had a hospital treatment this morning, which resulted in a minor operation. It is awful to be worrying about switching the heating on. I am seventy six. These people have no idea what it is like to be elderly and having to watch every penny regarding fuel. They are cruel, and dishonest. Shame on this Labour Party.

I contracted out and paid extra NI contributions on her behalf
Now under the new rules because we're a different age couple she can't claim pension credit until she is 86

The 9000 you get is the old state pension. You'll be able to claim pension credit and the heating allowance. That's unless you have a private pension as well.
Mine is less than £9,000!
what slot of people don't know is if you were self employed like I was when you come to retire you get a less pension than someone who worked for someone even though you paid the full national insurance because you opted out.! what ever that means.
