I've been using Valvoline Blue for ever in my Dodge Ram with Cummins Diesel engine, but after this video, I am definitely switching to Amsoil Diesel engine oil.

The other one that makes a huge difference is the engine flush that helps clean the turbo and the oil cooler ports and the other one that's great is the diesel injector cleaned fuel additive that lubricates the fuel system the pump the filter injectors and upper cylinder rings for added compression and fuel mileage and extended life of the motor

I used to buy alot of the Valvoline when I lived in California servicing generators because I was also buying filters at the same time there at Cummins West but since moving to Cheyenne Wyoming some years ago I started using Delo 15-40 which has performed well so I would be interested in seeing a Delo vs Rotella T .

Hi , ive run 14ltr Cummins engines with max weights 44tons across Europe and i have used Cummins blue oil for years also . in 1995 i stopped at my Cummins dealer to get a new barrel although they had two barrels the manager said you can not have one he said these are made by Mobil oil . Cummins have found slide tappet wear in the smaller engines so we have stopped using Mobil oil and after testing Valvoline oil it eradicated the problem of premature wear in the smaller engines , so first thing in the morning i will deliver a new barrel of Valvoline Cummins blue to your place , and i must say ive done very well with the new oil with no problems at all ...

I try not to use full synthetic engine oils but no problems using it in transmissions, lube,or on bearings. However I will use a half mix in some engines.
Yeah the best is the 100% synthetic you'll see a lot of the differences here and a cool thing about history was when Alan matuszio the inventor of Amsoil went to pikes peak and used the gear lube and Bobby unser's he'll climb car and his differential he saw a huge difference in heat and where and he was able to go instead of a couple practice sessions per differential he was able to go for the entire race season into the next season through race day all on the same differential after switching the Amsoil and that was in the late 1960s.

The more you run the amsoil you'll find out it actually becomes less than free once you see the few mileage difference and how much less you can change the oil after utilizing oil analysis.

Have you ever tried tests on these oils with heat instead of extreme cold? I’d imagine fleet vehicles in extreme cold environments would utilize engine block heaters..i don’t care how my oil works in ridiculously cold conditions.. I do care about heat though!

Shell Rotella but it should be 15w-40 to be even with the other oils. It doesn't matter if it's against Mobil or AMSOIL. T6 over T4 since they market that oil for coldflow.

Hey man, just put Amsoil OE ATF in my 02 Camry and doing Signature Series my next drain and fill..shifts better than ever.. However she has 200k miles and the engine burns about 1 quart every 500 miles.. I've tried many engine oils besides the very thick stuff like 20w50, and fear if I try using Amsoil, it might still burn it off and I would not have quarts readily available at an auto store on my long trips..
Hey John that is a simple fix what I would do is do a hems oil engine flush I would also get the AMS oil signature series motor oil.
If you're having leaking issues or burning oil problems the signature series 10W-30 would hold up the best. That's what I would use if I had an older car like that also I would get the PI performance improver gasoline additive and a can of the amsoil Power Foam.

Since your an oil guy. I live in Austin Texas and ambient temps get to 120 on roads all the time in summer. I was using 5w40 Diesel oils on all my applications but thinking 5w50 is better. Higher mileage highly modified diesel engine at 192k miles. 5w50 Mobil 1 euro blend and 5w50 Amalie full Elixir , or 10w40 premium protection Amsoil are on my radar.
Or do you think signature series is better oil than premium protection 10w40 as in their 5w40 SS Amsoil

What's the point in 15w/40?
These tests show that beginning additive package that's in the lubricant a cold flu additive package allows lubricant to flow at different temperatures also the quality of the additive package will hold up longer in heat cycling and oxidation a higher quality additive package and lubricant can last significantly longer with less oil consumption and less oil thickening so these tests are showing how different lubricants are from the start however over time a higher quality lubricant like 100% synthetic Amsoil will hold up exponentially longer without oxidation thickening and the breakdown of the additive packages compared to a lot of the other lubricants on the market a oil manufacturer can call a full synthetic full synthetic when it's only 25% synthetic the Amsoil is 100% synthetic and that's how it holds up longer keeping the metal Parts separated less frictionless heat less wear.

Valvoline bottle has better seal - impossible to drop pieces into the engine when the entire seal comes off in one piece. That being said, they underwhelm the rest of the vid.

That's the OEM viscosity that comes in a lot of those vehicles when unexpected weather comes in there's nothing you can do in your cot dead in the cold you have to be ready.

Unfortunately we all get busy and sometimes we are forgetful there are many people that drive up north in the winter and forget to change their viscosity also it's not just the viscosity it's the quality of the lubricant and how it's built the Amsoil is 100% synthetic and they have a very high quality of cold flow packages that are in the lubricant that allows it to flow better and extremes this video shows how different the ATF fluid is in a transmission on a Toyota the difference is between being able to put it in drive and not being able to put it in drive at only negative 20°.
