Engine oil friction test. Two oils are tested at 100°C and on the same sample. The test shows under what load the oil film will break.
The following parameters are tested: temperature at the moment of stopping the machine (the lower the temperature the better), number of weights (the more weights the better, weight of 1 weight = 500g), measurement of the gouge in the sample (the lower the result the better). All the parameters are entered in a summary table.

Jak ten test jest niemiarodajny. Gdy przy Valvoline opory wzrastały między trzecim a piątym krążkiem czekałeś kilka dodatkowych sekund aż opory spadną zanim dołożyłeś, a przy Castrolu dodawałeś prędzej.

Fajnie byłoby kiedyś sprawdzić Millers 5w30 EE C3, albo jakiś inny z serii EE, czy faktycznie są takie Performance jak mówi producent.

Bueno bueno.... Aqui hay varios factores a tener en cuenta.... 1- el peso se a puesto más rapido en Castrol, 2- entre los 2 aceites se a lijado el molde, 3- hay más aceite Valvoline que Castrol, 4- el apriete de la balanza puede no ser igual, pero el factor a tener más en cuenta es el primero, cuando la maquina empiza a pulir, el tubo es más obalado y tiene menor superficie, lo que hace que si pones peso más rapido es más facil frenarlo, y cuando ya está mas pulido, la base es mas ancha y plana, lo que hace que la pulidora patine más y le cueste más hacer el rebaje.... Puede que un aceite sea algo mejor que otro, pero no puede haber tanta diferencia si ambos pasan los mismos controles de calidad y las características segun los ensayos de calidad son los mismos.
Ambos aceites son buenos, QUE NO NOS ENGAÑEN.
Yo no entiendo que quiere decir el ensayo, mide el desgaste de la bala pero las condiciones no fueron las mismas, además el valvoline recibió mucha más carga y estuvo mucho más tiempo en funcionamiento, el Castrol se agarró enseguida con poca carga. No sé por qué mide el desgaste de la bala, no es parámetro de nada.
@@pabloscr Asi como dijo rumogo48, hubo mucha diferencia en la aplicacion de las pesas ya que en el caso del Valvoline los puso mas despacio, especialmente cuando la bala comenzo a chillar, espero que se callara un poco, y de luego siguio peniendole mas pesas. Esto es muy importante porque en ese periodo de tiempo cuando se reduce el chillar es porque ocurre una lamincacion donde varios de las chemicals con bases metalicos dentro de aceite se une can la superficie de la bala y por eso deja de chillar. Eso es justamente la razon por la que los fabricantes de estos aceites le ponen esas quimicas pero dentro del motor no existen las condiciones que hemos visto en el video, masbien en el motor el aceite tiene mas tiempo para cubrir los cilindros y otras partes metalicos de dejar esa laminacion protectora. En el caso del Castrol, si miras el video otra vez veras que pone las pesas mas seguidos, incluso en el caso del Castrol no le deja tiempo a que deje de chillar antes de ponerlo mas peso como hizo con la Valvoline y al hacer eso no le deja tiempo al Castrol a formar la lamina en la bala. Entonces is deficil deducir algo de este video, o mejor dicho no tiene mucho validez simplmente por error del operador. Las condiciones no fueron iguales.

I dont understand, coz in my opion its normal when u can put so much weight the cuts are deeper then Castrol oil. But if u put even weight on both oils i think valvoline would win, or am i wrong?

Good test and results but How about testing these motor oils at 0.C as it is on cold start ups that engines suffer the most.

@@PiotrTester dzięki. Penrite drogi. Zostanę przy Ravenol choć też przez rok mocno podrożał. Rok temu kupowałem 160 zł a teraz najmniej 240 zł za 4l

Wlałem kiedyś castrola do Hondy i o dziwo silnik byl sporo głośniejszy niż na starym oleju. Nigdy więcej tego szlamu od Castrola.
Jeśli dobrze interpretuję ten test, to Valvoline nie dopuścił do zerwania filmu olejowego, a Castrol szybko poległ. Co oznacza, że Valvoline dużo lepszy?

Salut Sergiu, il y a un élément à prendre en considération.
Avec la Valvoline tu met beaucoup plus de poids, et cela prend plus de temps. Il a tourner pendant une durée plus longue.
Il faudrait 2 machines et le faire en même temps ou chronometrer les temps de fonctionnements.
Car ok ici la Edge a moins usé la pièces.. mais si on mettait le même temps et le même poids avec la Valvoline, probablement que l'usure serait bien plus légère avec Valvoline

São tão mais mais complexas e diversas as condições internas de um motor automotivo que eu penso que esse teste não representa nem um centésimo do que deve ser um bom lubrificante automotivo.
es demasiado simple... cuando empieza a chillar a fuerte si le das tiempo a que haga la canaleta moldeada despues podes seguir echandole peso... al valvoline lo deja trabajar, al castrol no le da tiempo y lo atora de peso

Tak, posiadam nowe urządzenie od jakiegoś czasu. Stopniowo będzie na niej więcej testów.
Seharusnya di tes dengan beban yang sama, tes ulang castol dahulu baru vavoline.
Wygląda że valvolain jest dużo lepszym olejem
Castrol to gówno jakich mało! Kiedyś miałem zalewany Lotos Quazar i nie było problemu, aż pewnego dnia zajechałem do pobliskiego nowootwartego, nowoczesnego serwisu, gdzie wszystko full pro na wypasie i nalali mi Castrol Edge. Silnik zaczął brać olej. W ciągu roku dolałem ok 1.5litra, praca silnika też jest zauważalnie głośniejsza, praktycznie natychmiast po wymianie odnotowałem głośniejszą pracę. Podejrzewam że czego bym teraz nie zalał, to już dokonanych szkód w silniku nie cofnie.

Silnik w moim aucie przejechał 250 tkm na castrolu i jest w bardzo dobry stanie a Valvoline musiałem zlać że silnika bo się grzał źle oceny castrolu są nie sprawiedliwe tak jak ten test

Questo test non ha alcun senso visto così..
I motori hanno delle tolleranze quindi la rottura del film non si ha con uno strofinamento iniziale..
Poi andiamo ad analizzare nel dettaglio , possiamo notare che con valvoline non si hanno principi di grippaggio, mentre con castrol si .
Secondo me quindi il migliore è valvoline , senza alcun dubbio.
Invece sarebbe interessante togliere l'olio dall'auto dopo 10 mila km e fare il test , oltre alla misurazione della viscosità

There's multiple things that are done incorrectly, making this test kinda useless...
First before and after each test use brake cleaner to clean, you can't just wipe the oil off with a tissue, it won't work. Even if it seems spotless there will always be a small amount of the previous oil left, which end up mixing with new oil sample...
Second, the measurement of the wear of the bearing is useless here because the time for each test as well as the weight used are different.
Third, it seems that the bolt on the arm where the weights are was over tightened which seized the arm on the second test (the arm suddently moved once you added the third weight). You should make sure that is it can move freely before starting the test.
This made 0 sense.

This test was not done consistently.... it is so subjective that this test is irrelevant. I know castrol 0w40 is a top oil because I run it in my direct injected twin turbo truck... never had good luck with valvoline... anyone can make a test outcome as they want it to be... most oils are good enough, a few are the better choice
