Great question John yeah I was finishing the 15W40 motor oil viscosity I wasn't able to find that one in that viscosity so I figured it wouldn't be a fair test to do it without the right viscosities.
We've had a lot of questions about that one so we'll definitely do it against the right viscosities and show the differences ☕ Thanks for checking out the channel and being a part of the RUclips community 😃💯☕

Sweet, if you ever want to try something that would give you better performance and fuel mileage I highly recommend the Amsoil signature series Max DVD diesel 10w30 amazing have a lot of people that have switched to it and get some great results how it's different 100% synthetic film strength is the Amsoil a oil manufacturer can call a full synthetic full synthetic when it's only 25% synthetic amsoils different because it's 100% synthetic. ♥️ See Fluid Performance Tests - www.amsoil.com/performancetests.aspx?zo=5331179
I used Delvac 1300 in an old tractor and when it gets hot the pressure drops and that particular engine needs pressure. I use Rotella in that tractor because it can be in there 50 hours and it still hasn't lost any pressure hot. Delo is fine for a modern tractor but I sure wouldn't use it in anything I like with a flat cam.
I used Rottela all the time , for some reason , they start disappearing from Walmart (cheaper price) with covid bs , so I stuck with Delvac ...I noticed right away it looks and flow a little thiker when pouring in the engine (and it s darker ) , however , the slight tiking sound it disappeared with Delvac. Driving a volvo d 13 engine. I d like to see the friction test at normal temperature for winter and sumer (for -30 that way extream ) .this winter most I got is 32 to rarely 1 f ) , plus they have 10 w -40 for winter time for a reason .
Just did an oil change on my truck. 05 volvo with a cummins isx.. I had always used rotella t4 but for the same reason as you, not being able to find rotella at walmart made me make the change to mobil delvac.. I hope it does well and more importantly, i hope it doesnt affect my engine in a bad way..

Eben, question for you although not car related. What amsoil product would you recommend for high velocity fans. They have a motor on them but they have a wick that is supposed to lubricate the shaft but they can seize and my fan seems to be doing so.....you need it seems like a light oil (more like a 3 in 1) some people say machine oil. I know it is a weird question but these fans are expensive and if it seizes will just have to be junked much rather give it a top quality oil so it doesn't seize and would save me much more

I recently bought a 2.5 gallong jug of Delvac 15w-40 because it was at a good price. Paid $36 with my employee discount at Advance Auto Parts. I already knew that oil grade wouldn't be an issue in my van (specs for 5w-30) during the summer. In WI winters though, that could be a problem. Looks like it doesn't flow too well when it gets down to -20F. Would you say the same, that it isn't a good idea to use it when its that cold?
I think it just depends on what you're doing if I was doing cold starting below zero degrees Fahrenheit I would personally run a 0W-40 in my diesel motor I recommend the EM's oil max duty diesel signature series. Very well could be. The way an oil acts when it's cold and when it's hot or too totally different things also the way it breaks down and oxidizes. Great question The viscosity has nothing to do with how it flows in the cold It has to do with the cold flow packages. Up to 80% of the where on a motor occurs during the cold start That's where the bearings journals and different components get starved of oil and if you think about sandpaper that's what's happening every time you cold start your car the better oil you use with a better film strength it keeps that film on the metal so the next day when you start it it has lubrication. The temperature is irrelevant It has to do with starting the car the next day after the oil has drained into the oil pan. Subsequently the higher quality cold flow package oil will flow a whole lot faster for instance this video here shows Pennzoil ultra platinum versus Amsoil signature series and you'll see how superior it is. ruclips.net/video/0lXL0va_8rY/видео.html
Yeah it's very interesting the dynamics of lubricants transmission fluids you'll see we have a lot of cold flow playlists the crazy part is you'll see the ATF fluid it's called fuel efficient amzoil ATF fluid and it actually flows at about negative 69° F however even though it can flow at that cold it's good for double the severe service interval of high heat driving towing and plowing snow and for it to go double the high heat interval it has to be four times better because lubricants oxidize exponentially so it's an amazing relationship
I've never seen Rotella T4 foaming. The one guy that tells that story has a different story about the same vehicle about every other day. He is a nice man but he either has memory problems or has always been prone to lying because I've caught him multiple times. And when I started picking up on that it's when I stopped accepting his opinions. I hope he reads it too because I'm sick and tired of it.

I love Shell Rotella. I use it in all my old 1990s pick up trucks. Never had an issue with this oil
Oh yeah it's a great oil I definitely recommend trying the Amsoil signature series for your specific model you'll see it in the lookup guide you will be astounded at how much better your truck runs if you have a diesel truck I would use the diesel injector Clean Plus cetane boost the green bottle you'll see a huge bump in fuel mileage that one I recommend the 16 oz bottles and two bottles has a heavy clean up dose and then one bottle every full tank as a good maintaining dose.

I run rotella T4 15w40 with STP oil treatment in my lifted 4x4 in summer and then in winter I run synthetic Rotella 0w40 also with STP oil treatment. At almost 400k of hard-core offroad and towing usage, the truck is still going strong.

I would also test small engine oil for cold weather applications such as snowblowers, and ATV oil for ranchers
Great thinking!!!
Try Schaeffers 15w-40 SynShield or the 5w-40!
I'm using 20W50 in one of my older trucks. Can you cold flow test that or have you already?
That cold test looked like yummy caramel!
😁😄
Some people tell me the cat 15w40 oil it the same that delvac ??? You know something about this
I used Rottela all the time , for some reason , they start disappearing from Walmart (cheaper price) with covid bs , so I stuck with Delvac ...I noticed right away it looks and flow a little thiker when pouring in the engine (and it s darker ) , however , the slight tiking sound it disappeared with Delvac.
I highly recommend Amsoil on your next oil change you will be very impressed.

Would be nice to see a comparison between AMZ OIL 15w 40 and and Shaffers 15w 40 syn shield.
Excellent suggestion will have to test that one
on a side note....I buy mine at Walmart....it's almost 50% cheaper!!!!! i bought my Delvac for about $12 a gallon!!!
I know it is a weird question but these fans are expensive and if it seizes will just have to be junked much rather give it a top quality oil so it doesn't seize and would save me much more
Great question Michael!

Super tech 15w40 diesel oil ??? How good is it
I use a T6 Rotella 15 w 40 in my 302 swapped Datsun 1984 200sx yes a diesel oil in a gas engine
Have you ever tried amsoil?
People love that Rotella
It definitely surprised me 😃
Shell (Pennzoil, Rotella) are tough competitors, Make sure you test the Heavy-Duty Diesel Amsoil it's about the same price but with Free shipping
Heyo from another vegasan.
a good test would be how much the oil degrades after certain heat temperatures
That test is in here you'll also see it with oxidation and heat cycling on turbos and Amsoil was the first to pass a 3G test I think a double length 3G test where they oxidize it at 300° and the oil was still at the proper viscosity after a double test length.

This is the one I would run-
www.amsoil.com/p/signature-series-max-duty-synthetic-diesel-oil-0w-40-dzf/?zo=5331179
Can you do some full synthetic 5-40. It’s what I use in winter
Yes, Will definitely be getting to that soon 😃
Wanted to know all about Dexus1 or Dexus2 certification of oil product? Is it compatible to all old engine requiring SN or CF ?
That's a great question I really have no idea.
Anyone that lives with temps that low should have a oil and block heater. One start up will destroy the engine with both oils at those temperatures.
Not to mention its a 15w. It takes a real special person to get in a situation where its -40, and they have 15w, and they let the truck get that cold
Could you do Rotella T6 5w-40 VS Amsoil Signature Series Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil 5W-40?
That's a great question.....
I don't know because I still don't know who is going to be the final winner going up against amsoil.
Whoever the winner is will be the one that goes up against the amsoil Max duty diesel signature at the end.
If the rotella t6 can hold up it would be the one going up against it.

Only $22 bucks? Lol. Walmart price is 10.98 delvac, $12 rotella. -2021
More flow doesn't necessarily means its better, thinner the oil, quicker its going to find its way through a gasket.
@@Syntheticoilprotection 🤔 interesting
@@Syntheticoilprotection i need to watch more of your videos.
