I have loved all your Dutch pours Kanella and am trying to make something for myself that feel would be good enough to resin and put on my walls. So far I have done a lot of duds that I have painted over. Thanks for always posting your craft....we all appreciate it.
This is beautiful, I've been trying this for years now and all I do is make a mess, look at your hands, and your paint containers, so clean! I need to work on my neatness first, then maybe I'll get a result I like, I'm not giving up!
From an artistic standpoint. Her artwork is amazingly abstract, organic, fluid, and unique. Not blowing on it,as many have commented, would not achieve this final result. Also the technique she uses, blowing with her mouth, allows her to control the exact direction and force with which the paint will be pushed and watch the design unfold accordingly. If she was to use a different blowing method,as many suggest, she would not have the same control over the creative process and it would produce different results. To tell an artist that you preferred their work if it was different or when it looks a certain way or before they changed it in some manner, is an insult and it just amazes me as to why so many would make such insulting comments especially to a woman who is so gracious in sharing with us her incredible talent.
Excellent observations! Thank you so much for your statement. I hope the criticising viewers will take your message to heart. They probably hadn't thought that their comments could be perceived as being insulting. It's always good to be reminded of proper communication.
That was so beautiful I've been doing arts and crafts stuff since I was nine since I became disabled there's not much I can do but I love to watch you create yours. You have a real talent that would be really good as a clock one of a kind
You are so fun to watch… artistry in motion. I can only aspire to paint like you. Thank you so much for showing how to do this, the paint I have wasted!
Thank you for your videos and how you talk thru what you are doing. I’m trying to get this technique down…I’m doing pretty good….but I watch over and over and it really helps. So enjoy your talent.
trust me i know lol... I totally regretted it after i did it... needless to say I have learned to wait a while and come back to a piece and really make sure i dont like it before i scrape it LOL
I love this! Looks incredible and interesting! If this were to be a clock. I would put my favorite side of the paint, matching my favorite hour of the day. For example my favorite hour of the day is midnight, and my favorite part of the painting is where the unexpected rainbow colors popped out, so, that side would be the side the would be on the 12 o clock for my midnight favorite hour. The just what I would do. And once again, I LOVE IT
The process is amazing. Kanella's personal artistry is quite evident (this is not just another paint splatter). Her blowing process allows for much more control and artistic expression than the ones who use a hair dryer. Her choice and control of colour are also quite extraordinary. Maybe less non-related commentary though
Wow I was really fascinated by your artwork and the technique. I don’t think I’ve seen this type before. I loved how it all flowed. So many beautiful things inside of it. Everything from an extravagant peacock to a boa neck wrap. Just beautiful! I bet it gets expensive though using so much paint. Really lovely. 👍❤️
I just grabbed my old hair drier, which doesn't have any attachments. I can only run it on high, or low heat. I made my own attachment, using a paper towel roll (TP roll works too!). I cut it to the desired length, & duct taped it to the end, then squished it a little bit to make a duck bill shape. It works great for my Dutch pours! Most of my tools come from the cupboards, dollar stores, yard sales, & the toy box!
The part youre not crazy about looks awesome! The other side looks way too much the same...too many blows, that look the same... But, youre the artist.
This is sooo pretty! My biggest obstacle for this type of art is choosing the colors, the ones you chose work so well together and have a subtle vibrance to them, I love it so much. Also the comments on this video make me chuckle just a bit, seems like a lot of moms letting their artistic side flow, and being so supportive!
It’s beautiful I am glad I watched! I look forward to seeing more. To me the one side feather like, wispy. Then as you start to go around the bottom to the other side it looks like vibrant vertebrae. Dinosaur like . Lol I really love it. Thank you for your beautiful work.
Oh , I d love to see the how-to clock presentation, but I’d prefer this piece as wall art or a table. Would be a stunning little table in tea room or garden room!
One of my absolute favorite of yours. Love the raw experience, can't count how many times I put my hair or shirt in my painting so nice to know such a pro can feel the pain and handle it so gracefully. Always love watching oldies but goodies. Thanks for sharing.
Today is October 11, 2022, I am looking for the clock which I hope you made. I love your energy Kanella, your style of Art is very ethereal, yet earthly. Very relaxing and informative.
this is kathie tucker i have not poured yet . it is important for me to look at all styles. your style is very impressive. my 1st few pours will be your style. you have really inspired. thank you
Australia says Pebeo the way you did before correction. Now I have to call them and ask. I love the copper you added. I like my Dutch Pours just how you did it with the hair dryer. Not the bits you blow out with your mouth. I like solid colour to the edges, I only blow if little part needs it but I would have had branches coming off the first line. Thank you.
This is beautiful. I'm just discovering this type of art and I love all of the ideas I am finding. I do like the wispier edges rather than the outlined effect, but overall this is incredible.
This is my first time watching, and I thought it was pretty cool to see, and I liked the end result. Then you showed a close-up, and that was *really* cool! I could see the vibrancy of the colors better, and see all the cells like you were talking about.. art is so much better in person, and you gave us that. Thank you!
When it was upside down, (before she pulled the camera down and showed the way she viewed it) I thought it looked like the neck and head of a seahorse. With the snout coming out on the right side. Very beautiful.
yaaaaa.... i agree! sometimes I look back at my own videos and think WHY DID I DO THAT?? LOL... oh well.. i need to learn to BACK AWAY!! One day I will do it LOL
Where did you get the large rounds? In pottery we have several kinds of excellent turntables. I have a problem with overworking or using too much paint. So I’m trying to simplify from the beginning. This work is lovely. It has to cover a large area. It has a lot of fingers Maybe if these were combined into larger ones, rather than so many single ones.

So gorgeous. I've only tried a couple of different pours, but not a Dutch pour. Guess what's next.😉It still amazes me how such a beautiful painting can come out of randomly pouring several colors of paint on a flat surface...not to make it sound elementary by any means. I'm still new at this art and I've had more fails than successes. Soooo....I keep watching videos by different artists and getting inspired to keep trying. Keep on pouring and thanks for sharing!

Maybe a turntable would help when blowing.
thanks Judi, but I prefer not to use one of those... maybe one day I will change my mind lol
That is a good idea..not using it to move the paint just so you can turn the painting to blow the edges so you don't have to stretch so far
