Today we are going to check out Hexagonal Nexul's update to the Asgard Upgraded Odyssey from Stargate SG1.
He has modified the original ship in Bridge Commander and vastly improved it.
It now features new look weaponry and new sound effects.
We are going to put it against a Borg Cube, The Goa'uld and the Ori!

Species 8472 proved that the Borg can't adapt to everything.
They were adapting to the futuristic torpedoes in voyager that one shot cubes.
Undine weapons were organic based and probably harder for the borg to understand and adapt since they couldn't assimilate them.
Eventually in a different timeline the Borg did adapt and assimilate the 8472 race.
They eventually managed to assimilate them
I find it interesting that the new sound for the beam weapons is from the scene they were first used rather than the sound from the rest of the series.
Also, I'd think the ZPM Odyssey would take out the Ori in one shot, since the non-ZPM version took one out in a few shots.
I think that the Odyssey had the ZPM when it got the Asgard upgrades and fought the Ori.
This Stargate ship in nice and Hex did a great job, I watched a few shows but missed so much.. gosh.. seeing the ship at 0:31 and shows where the fighters fly out but in the show looks huge, hmm lol 😨oopsie doodle, eeh the Fighters got taken out, oh my.. ! lol! Well I think if normal bullets gets past the Borg drone shields I think missiles against the Borg Cube would work and did gosh.. Jeepers the look and sound of the beam is amazing nice.. Wow yes up and personal gosh.. this was a great battle for sure, and end part the glow of the lights of the Ship is nice. that Asgard weapon is wicked .. love the multi target.. wow... Great battle as always Admiral..!!😊🖖
That fighter launch mode is so cool. I only discovered it a few weeks ago! It's so odd how bullets worked in First Contact. My guess is, the Borg would adapt, eventually. Not sure if Shields could stop them though. Maybe they would have enhanced their armour? The new weapon sounds are awesome. Thanks Steve 🖖

I believe the Borg's ability to adapt is based upon all the knowledge of the species they assimilated. So if the Federation started using something that some obscure race they'd assimilated had used they would adapt to it. They wouldn't be able to adapt to the Asgard Beam Weapons because they've never encountered anything like it before.
Asgard Beam Weapons are focused plasma , they are basically a plasma torch, and simialr concepts have been used by ST races before, so they would eventually adapt.

I really love your Videos and the Ship Models that the MOders are sending you BUT the Odyssey should have destroyed the Ori within seconds, due it's superior technology. Here are some fixing necessary. Best Regards

The Asgard are so technologically advanced they can travel between distant galaxies in a matter of hours their civilization is tens of thousands of years old their technology should be light years ahead of the Borg and a zero point module gives near Infinite Energy they are still Reliant on matter antimatter reactors in Star Trek so I think the Borg wouldn't be able to adapt to that much energy output regardless of frequency or modulation, I don't even think reversing the polarity would help the Borg lol
yet here we are watching a borg cube last more than few shots from a zpm powered 304 no less.
I love the Stargate ships, however most of them offers who make these ships underestimate just how op the Daedalus was with Asgard beam weapons powered by a ZPM. The shields look like they were closer to cannon though.

I too love both Star Trek and Stargate. Although my favorite Stargate series is Atlantis and always will be.
I'm glad to see a more up to date version of the Odyssey to have the sfx the same as the TV series and the look of the Asgard beam weapons too.
No surprise it took out a Borg cube like that. I think based off that the Borg wouldn't be able to adapt to the Asgard beam weapon. That's cool you were able to launch F302. It sucks they blew up when the Borg ship did.
We both said "Oh no" at the same time when the Odyssey got taken out by the Ori ship lmao.
Yeah it did suck that the Ori was able to track them through hyperspace because of the Asgard tech. I'm sure they knew about the Asgard hence why they were able to track the Odyssey when the Asgard core was online.
I chuckled when Daniel was able to cloak the ship because they had a ZPM on board and he used his Prior powers to do so. Then after Daniel lost his Prior powers, Sam asked how Daniel was able to cloak the ship using the ZPM and he was all "I dunno". I chuckled at that too.

Cool! Stargate Atlantis is my favourite as well. I think the ORI would still be a threat, even with the Asgard weaponry. If it wasn't for Merlins device I think the war would have lasted forever. LOL, that was so funny with Daniel! 🖖
Nice that you love Atlantis too. I’m still miffed they left us hanging like that for Universe.
I agree if it weren’t for Merlin’s the war wouldn’t have gone on forever.
I was annoyed that the Ancients didn’t bother to help when the Ori tried to invade. Also with Anubis. Daniel couldn’t (and rightfully so) sit by while Anubis tried to take over everything.
I mean I sorts get the non interference policy like what Starfleet has. Still though by that time Earth had their ships with Asgard tech. They should have helped them out with the Ori.
When the Borg assimilated the Asgard, they received a computer upgrade! The ZPM was a big upgrade from the ZX Spectrum they were using from Species 180.
😂😂 The ZX Spectrum has it's flaws. But it makes an excellent coaster to rest your cup on ☕️
Super cool; I really loved it, the updated Odyssey taking on the BOrg, the Goa'uld & the Ori,.. however the F-302 pilots that survived your first battle against the Ori ships might have/ would have been resenting you for sending them out & killing most of them needlessly,.. lol.. vs the 2nd battle when it helped take out the Ori ships from upclose & personal.
Absolutely love this mod! This is the first time it is starting to look like the Stargate ships are being depicted with a Canon amount of power.😊
I would think the RAIL guns would be some what affective like holographic bullets lol
On their first use, the plasma beams took about 5 shots to get through the Ori shield, the 6th shot ripped them apart.
I'm not sure I'm remembering right but didn't the Lucien Alliance manage to modify the Ha'Tak's shields to be more resistant to the new weapons? I think it was mentioned in SGU.

Strange, I didn't know that the Asgard beam weapons were weaker based on distance.
The only thing more powerful would be the Lantian drones.

The ZPM allowed that ship to withstand a massive solar flare.
The Ori ships don't use pulse weapons usually, still good, though
This new Odyssey is a beast. Could it take out every other Tauri ship at once? The old Asgard Odyssey and the Apollo would probably be the biggest threats in that fight. Also, could you please put the Apollo against something, to see what kind of damage the Horizon can do?
Seeing how it looks kinda like a Battlestar. Can we put the borg assimilated Stargate Odyssey against the Federation modified Galactica? That Galactica is a tough cookie so it may have a chance to bring it down. Still wish we had a borg assimilated Cylon Baseship to rival the Federation Galactica.
Shippack 3 version seemed like it had stronger beam weapons. I do not remember taking that many shots at a borg cube or ori mothership. But I do like the new color they have.

Odyssey versus the Orville
Yeah the Asgard plasma beam weapons are no way near strong enough - they should blow up a Ha'Tak in the first shot, similar to Ori ships.
Sadly the Asgard Plasma Beam Weapon still isn't strong enough. In the series it takes only 5-6 hits before destroying a Ori ship. They were designed to destroy the shields developed by a species that was space faring for billions of years. Compared to any species we've seen in Star Trek the only species that would be comparable would possibly be the Voth as they were descendants of Earth's dinosaurs.
Age doesn't correlate linearly with strength; the voth are actually a case in point as they are not that amazing despite their age due to their long period of technological stagnation
@@keyboardt8276 That may be true but the Ori are the same way, the truth is that their amazing technological advancement came before their decent into theocracy not afterwards. Afterwards the Voth did continue to improve their technology but at a much slower rate as they had to make it work within their religious confines that however doesn't mean that as a species they weren't the dominate species, they just weren't interested in conquering the other species around them, they just ignored them unless they had to deal with them. It's the reason why we never see Voth Borg as even their smallest ships were faster, stronger and more technologically advanced compared to the Borg who only assimilate technology not develop it.
Think of it this way, the Voth were able to transport an entire ship into their city ship and dampen all of Voyager's technology, they had personal phased cloaking tech and all their ships were capable of transwarp without the need of a transwarp network like the Borg. In that one episode we were shown that Voyager, who could defeat every Delta quadrant species were children compared to the Voth.
The reason why the ori could follow then is the asgard computer core it was the power source it was using that alound them to be fowlled just finished that episode
I remember when the first versions of the Odyssey years ago, max power on everything and nothing lasted long!

I think "IRL", Asgard beams would work about as well as transphasic torpedoes. I can't picture the Borg surviving the first shot. They also would not be able to adapt to it - it's a plasma weapon, it doesn't have a frequency with which to repel anything. IT's sheer brute force - and the Borg's "circuit breaker" won't be enough. They can't adapt if they blow up before they know what's happened.
By that logic Romulan ships would be carving up Borg cubes
@@keyboardt8276 We've never seen them fight, so don't know. Romulan plasma weapons are several orders of magnitude lower than Asgard ships, though.
The issue - even ignoring you can't adapt against "plasma" - is the Asgard weapons basically put so much energy into a target, it can't "shield" or "adapt" - it's just overwhelmed.
Think of trying to power your home laptop or PC with a bold of lightning.
No surge-protector is going to help there, and you'll be lucky to have a roof over your house when it's done.
Even if you could adapt to plasma (plasma is a real thing, IRL, but it doesn't have a 'frequency' which is what the Borg use to 'adapt'), they'd be blown up by the first shot - and so couldn't even analyse the data to send to other cubes to learn from - by the time the weapon has fired, it's already too late.

@@sarcasticstartrek7719 the problem for asgard is the attack potency. Does stargate have moon to small planetary feats? if they dont borg claps them hard. it took a species of earth like planet destoryers to make the borg threated.

well this looks more a downgrade, for what i remember in the show, the bc 304 with asgard beam can defeat an ori ship with 3 o 4 beam hit
In Stargate, the ori ships fell with only around 10 shots
I don't think they could adapt. Because they adapt to what they know. With sg1 being a separate universe they wouldn't know how to adapt.
It seems the shield bleedthrough issue with the BC-304 is still there with this model, the Ori killnig through your shield was a fluke.
Against the ori it was already shown on thr TV and it took like 3 or 4 shots to destroy it
Ori beam weapon or Death Star super laser. Both are 1 shot kills. I wonder if the Ori beam can 1 shot the Death Star?
It's still not right..2 long burst from the Asgard beam weapon always destroys a Ori mothership in the series ..The Goa'uld Ships take damage must faster as well..Still need to tweek those percentages..
Still not powerful enough. Realistically, the Odyssey should be able to one shot the Cube.
