Hi Amy, new subscriber here 😁
Happy New Year!!
Can you do a tutorial making faux leather earrings with stud posts?
My ear holes are torn due to heavy earrings I've worn through out my life so I need studs. I'm new at this and had a lady make some for me, I'd love to see how this style is made. Thanks
Rachel

The butterfly earring is my favorite, too! Have you made any full butterflies for each side? Thank you for the video! Very clear and instructional!💖
Hi, Betty! I haven't made full butterfly earrings yet - but I'll add it to my "ideas" list. That would be a great spring project. Thank you!

Hello I love this tutorial you were very thorough in explaining the different types of phones either and techniques and machines I have a question what is your thought on the double sided faux leather that I think I have seen with other tutorials available on Etsy, thanks for the inspiration
Hi, Carmen! Thanks for your comment. I haven't used a lot of double sided faux leather, but when I try I will use my deep point blade (the one with the black housing) and see how that does.
@@AmyRomeu I have never bought any type of faux leather and I wanted to try making some earrings as Christmas gifts , where is a good place to start buying the faux leather for a beginner, thanks again
@@CC-jl3nw Hi, Carmen! Great question. I have an article on my website that answers this question. I hope you'll find it helpful. Here's the link: amyromeu.com/best-places-buy-faux-leather-cricut-earrings/
@@AmyRomeu ok thanks so much 😊
Can the Cricut explore air cut faux leather?
Hi, Britney! Yes, it can! You can choose "Faux Leather (Paper Thin)" as the material setting from within Cricut Design Space. Also choose "More" from the pressure dropdown. The blade that I cut my faux leather with is the standard fine point blade using these settings. :) If you try it, let me know how it goes!

@@AmyRomeu I tried that a couple of times. Will retry a bit later. I'm tenacious. ;)
@@phyllisfavorite9399 Sorry it’s not working for you. I’ve heard of someone else having that problem and they were able to unsubscribe and that worked. You may want to try from a different device.
Is faux leather waterproof? Do you need to seal the earrings at all? Great video!
Thanks for your comment. Senna! I don't seal my earrings at all - that being said, faux leather is generally waterproof on the front and then more fabric-like on the back (usually felt). So I don't recommend getting faux leather wet, because the back would be very absorbent and not good for the material long term.
@@AmyRomeu Okay thank you so much! Would that issue be solved by adding an opposite facing faux leather backing or permanent vinyl? I currently run a polymer clay jewelry business and am about to get a circut & want to branch out into leather earrings for it 😁
@@biztips3008 That would help, yes!
Amy, on the glitter faux letter my cricut expore 2 is not cutting out designs out with it. I am using the blade it came with. Any suggestions?
Hi, Christina! How complex are the designs or shapes you are trying to cut? Also, are you repeating the cut two or three times before unloading the mat?
I found the deep point blade works better, just make sure you change the blade type in the settings before using so it doesn't cut through the mat
Can you use different materials than Faux leather?
Hi, Judy! Thanks for your comment. What materials are you curious about?
Will the dollar tree leather work for this
Hi, Julie! I haven't tried it myself, but there are lots of crafters in my Facebook group who have used it and been happy with the results! Here's a link to my free group if you want to come on over and ask in there: facebook.com/groups/891641964570304

Is 2mm hole punch to large
The hole punch I use is 1/16" of an inch, which when converted to mm is 1.58mm. So 2mm would be a little large but not terrible.

The faux leather from cricut says it isn't for the maker.
The Cricut faux leather works with all 5 current Cricut machines, including the Maker and the Maker 3. Even the Cricut Joy! If the packaging says otherwise, it could have been printed before the Maker was released.
@@AmyRomeu ahhh thank you!
