We bought this stone house in Italy during the pandemic in 2020. The house was a ruin and we saved everything we could, unfortunately that meant only four stone and clay walls! The back wall, against the terrain, was close to collapse; the roof beams were eaten and basically reduced to dust; the inside separation walls were easily taken down and the whole project turned into a heavy renovation/rebuild.

Yet another job well done! I can imagine that when you do the last bit of construction, there's going to be a big celebration!! Then... move in and more work! Love learning about these more efficient and eco friendly building materials. I had hear of the expanded clay for use with pizza ovens, and insulating them. Didn't think of using it fo a floor. Well done. Love seeing the happy dog with the muddy nose too!

You have totally convinced me the last six weeks that I will never ask for a tile floor. Oh my the work ! I will admire every tile floor I see knowing the hard, hard work that goes into laying one.

De dekvloer ziet er goed uit.Ik heb deze soort vloer nog nooit gezien maar ik denk zeker dat er een isolerende werking vanuit komt. De toekomst zal uitwijzen denk ik.

Caiù is our adaptation of "caillou" in french, which means little stone 😉

Muy i teresante la mezcla que usaron para el piso del baño usando bolitas de arcilla que le confiere propiedades aislantes.
Quería consultar de ¿cual material está hecha la malla cuadriculada que usaron en el piso?
La malla es de fibra de vidrio, entonces resistante a la cal 😉

While the hemp block is a great insulation, I don’t like its texture. Too bad they can mold the outer surface with a more attractive face.
The hempblocks are made to be coated, with a lime based plaster ideally. The rough surface of the blocks assure a perfect grip for it! We will do it soon ☺️

@@ateliermavi Well, manifolds are usually for water pipes connections. What I had in mind was that underfloor heating usually looks like this, but you didn't have as far as I remember. So it is just normal shower, kitchen, etc. water, right?
