    Thank you. NO ONE has done a review of this USB-C tower. There are 50 RUclips ads for it ranging from 1 - 1.5 minutes with music only but nothing else.

    What's the HDD read write speed when connected through the 5-bay enclosure? Can you try to do a benchmark for all 5 bay simultaneously in Raid 0 and see what is the max transfer rate the enclosure is able to put though the USB 3.1 gen2 port. Hope to hear from you. Thanks!

    How does RAID 0 work with those power buttons next to each drive? Do you have to quickly click them when you power it back up? Will it corrupt the RAID if you don't get them powered back up fast enough? Thanks!

    On mac: When a disk goes to sleep or is unmounted, can you mount it back or do you need to physically push the button?

    If the computer which this Sabrent 5-bay device is connected to enters into sleep mode, will the drives all shut down from spinning and enter sleep mode as well?

    You were focussed on Mac connectivity. Windows 10 has a software setup called storage pools. Essentially it is a software solution for RAID 0, RAID 1.
    Can this also be used as a RAID5 solution in Windows combining the minimum required 3 disks? What about with a Mac? With this 5-bay Sabrent having two thunderbolt/USB-C ports, could I use a Mac computer, (RAID 0 (2 drives)) and Windows 10 PC (RAID5 (3 drives)) connected at the same time somehow?

    So that USB 3.1 HUB port can actually be a DAISY CHAIN for more hard drives?

    • @AtTech128
      @AtTech128  4 года назад +1

      Yes. You can add more docking station units in a chain with that port. It can also be used for pretty much anything else as well.

    Two questions - what is the length of the included USB cables? Assume for a moment this will be used as a backup device for a remote server, and there is a power failure to the building. Will the drives power on again on their own when power resumes, or will someone have to hit the power button on each drive bay to turn each drive on?

    • @demoacct
      @demoacct 3 года назад

      The included cable for the 4-bay model is extremely short, and yeah, it seems the enclosure will leave the correct slots powered up on soft-reboot (Linux).

    • @Lambykin
      @Lambykin 3 года назад

      @@demoacct Thanks for the response, but this really only answers one of my questions. Doesn't matter now as I didn't go with this product, but I specifically needed to know if it would power back on by itself in the event of a power outage & allow all drives to be available without human interaction. If this equipment is installed in a remote location with little human interaction, you can see how such a design could be problematic when physical rocker switches for power don't exist. Too bad the manufacturer doesn't spell this out in pre-sales documentation.

    Can I use this 5 bay docking station with my iPad Pro since I edit my photos and videos on my iPad? Also, which hard drives work best for “reliable” and fast storage for my large 4k videos if I want to by 5 hard drives? WD black or red...?

    • @AtTech128
      @AtTech128  3 года назад

      Not entirely sure if it works on iPad. If it does, there will definitely be no RAID support. Just bare, individual drives with no security. I use Seagate Ironwolf Pro drives. I’ve been using them for a long time and have had great performance.

      There's a chance your motherboard doesn't support USB 3.2 . . . Try your motherboard manufacturer's website and see if they have the drivers. That's my guess. USB 3.2 is still very new. If your motherboard was manufactured prior to the protocol's finalization, I doubt it would work. usb.org/usb-32
      You would need to look into if your computer supports adding a USB 3.2 adapter card duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=usb+3.2+card&ia=shopping

    its just way too expensive for what it designed to do, not even a fan controll or software support like synology. if it was bellow 80 euro i would consider, the price does not make sense, therefore look for other alternatives.
