Lindsay, I absolutely love your videos! You are such a talented crafter and teacher...I have learned so many new crafting ideas from you!! Thank you thank you thank you...never stop...you never cease to make me laugh!
Gads, I haven't been a crafter for years and years, but have been watching (and thoroughly enjoying) your videos Lindsay. Not sure you are interested, but there is a video floating around showing how to make your own molds usung regular old silicone caulking- basically just start kneading cornstarch into a big plop of the silicone. Keep adding/kneading until it loses the stickiness. This is really cost effective and it doesn't use the harsher naptha like other moldmakers are using.
I was laughing as you were losing things! That is very typical of how things go when I craft!! These cards are really pretty! I have lots of the silicone molds and this is a great way to get more use out of them!! I like the Avery glue sticks too! I won’t buy any others now, no matter how cheap they are! Thanks for this video, I enjoyed it and am inspired by it!
OMG no wonder i never finish your classes i pay for!!1 i see one idea after another on your RUclips page and then i have to try them!! I have so much fun! Thanks so much for keeping all these ideas old and new available!
Really like the idea with the hot clue! Enjoy the video and your little laugh you are so down to earth! Cards are very nice thank you for Sharing!!! Hugs Liz X
Great technique!! I have a ton of silicone molds and I can't wait to give this a try. Thanks so much for sharing! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! ;-)
So need to give this a try. Have to say, I was always so scared of hot glue guns, so never got one till recently after watching you use yours, have to say I am now loving the ease of use a glue gun brings plus I haven't burnt my hands off yet, so that's good too 😊 x
Do you think that you could ink the book page first and let it dry, then apply the glue relief? I love the technique but not crazy about the white space around the glue.
I just love the organic looks of these! I actually just bought some silicone molds from Mod Podge to use w/ their "special" hot glue sticks.I feel like a dim-wit...If I thought about it for 2 seconds...dugh...regular hot glue would have more than sufficed! BTW...when I try to line the inside of a card, (or do the pop-n-cuts-card) I can NEVER get the liner to lay flat at the fold. It looks fine when I glue it, fine when I close it & then when I open the card again, a big gap at the fold. :(
This is BRILLIANT lady! I made the happy mistake of turning my envelope inside out and had the pattern on the inside! Now that's how I'm making the rest of them! I love it! HAHA! TFS luv! ♥ dig ♥
I Love this - you have the best ideas!! Just got myself a hot glue gun so now I need to play with it but don't worry I will try not to burn my hands off!! LOL!
I just found this tutorial, can't believe I missed a Lindsay video! :) You had me grinning looking for your items hiding in plain sight. We always say, "If that had been a snake it would've bitten me." LOL Thanks for sharing this great project!
I look forward to your videos every day. I want the envelope maker. Where did you get them? Do they come in all different sizes? You said your friends at cantaloupe ? Ty Mixed up me.
Patti Jo Hellmann here is a link for Green Sneakers, they make the envelope templates, tell them Lindsay sent you:) www.greensneakers.com/EnvelopeTemplates/
I've got loads of different colours of glue sticks, so I can go funky with this. I need to get some moulds though as the only ones I have right now are buttons (which are meant for sugar craft but work really well with hot glue :)
I have a question: I was playing with my alcohol markers and some of them were sticky. I was using two different brands but it was always the same two markers that were sticky. Have you had this problem?
Lindsay: Where did you get these molds? I couldn't find them at Micheael's, Hobby Lobby or Joann's. I DID find a silicon candy mold (for cake makind) at Michael's, but it seems too thick. Not happy with how it came out. Even the sharpie inking on top does not look good, like your do. What am I doing wrong? : ) OOXXOO Linda
A fellow crafter, a fellow card maker, you lose stuff too and you’re a fellow Doctor Who fan as well? Hummmm, sounds like you’re perfectly normal to me LOL. - Very fun and creative card.
my best friend and I get more crafting done with Doctor Who too!!!! I love to crank out flowers...I could listen to David Tennant read the phone book and be happy! lol
they are so cool!! I was wondering where you'd get the mold from and what they are called? I do have a glue gun and such, is there anything I can use to substitute the mold with?
Honey P you can use any silicone mold, even baking ones. Mine were from Martha Stewart and they were not too expensive, you get 4 in a pack for $7-$10 and you can use coupons on them. I find them on clearance a lot too.
Thanks Jen, I wish you could hear my husbands commentary sometimes, after I made a comment of losing all my supplies he said "hmm, maybe that's a sign..." That I need to clean up, I was trying to clean my craft room all day but new projects kept happening, what is a girl to do? LOL! I need to put a microphone on my hubby I guess:)
OKAY, so now (on my next break from work) I have to go buys a couple molds. I have the glue gun, the paper, the markers, and even a damaged book to rip up. Look out! Do you have a recommendation for decorative scissors? I can't seem to find a good brand.
Fiskars makes the best deco edge scissors I have tried, I recommend getting theirs in the most often used patterns, you can skimp on the designs you don't need that often but Fiskars deckle and scallop and probably pinking are must haves!
Linda, the molds are by Martha Stewart and they were in the " Martha" aisle at Joanns, I can't remember if they came in the big starter kit with clay or if they were on their own in a 4 pack. Use a coupon if you get the big kit cuz it is now $30 but the clay in there is fun!
What a creative idea! I am SO impressed with you! I have been looking for "an image" to impress onto embossing pastes. Do you think the silicon molds would work? Regular stamps stick to the paste and I end up with a pile of goo! Thanks!
Very nice card just the way I like it quick and easy. I make cards for charity and I am always looking for ideas. Just one point if you make 4inches by 6inches you can get three cards out of a twelve by twelve card stock
very nice! Btw, I was remembering my printmaking professor showing us how to make *non-food safe* molds with cornstarch and caulking from the hardware store. I'm sure if you google search it you can find an approximate recipe somewhere! If you had small objects you could mold them and then use the resulting shapes with your glue experiments. :-)
I would initially place the glue form upside down on plain paper and once it has cooled, I would trim around the form with an Exacto knife and then glue the shape on the printed page. I don't like the blobs of glue around the shape.
these are by martha stewart, let me have a look... some are still available on amazon: amzn.to/2CGC4fz but I think they are mostly discontinued but ANY silicone molds will work fine:)
LOL Some times I lose my phone and than I'm like Oh Duhh I'll just call it!!! LOL than I'm like AAAAAAA WTH How can I call it if it's lost! So yeah I do understand about misplacing things. But anyways!!! This is so kool! Thanks Lindsay for sharing with all of us and all these years too!!!!
I love your older card making videos! 💖
Another fabulous hot glue idea...a fun technique! Thanks Lindsay.

I love them...I think these could bring back the art of sending note cards...
Super cool idea. I love this. Thanx Lindsay for making the day a little bit brighter.
Paula Binkley aww, you are welcome:)
NIce!!!...and I have the same set to make envelopes! The best invention ever.
I was laughing as you were losing things! That is very typical of how things go when I craft!! These cards are really pretty! DOCTOR WHO ROCKS! and so do you. Love this video.

aww, you are so very welcome:)
absolutely! Also if you use less glue you will avoid the squish around it and just get the relief image:)
Really like the idea with the hot clue! Enjoy the video and your little laugh you are so down to earth! Cards are very nice thank you for Sharing!!! Hugs Liz X
What a cool technique! Always lovin what you are doing!!!
Love your technique, here.....appreciate the tip on the alcohol markers...that they play well together...good to know.
o-so-very PRETTY! Thanks, Lindsey
how fun does that look!!!! I am going to start getting molds for clay and I want to try this out to!
I know what I'm buying tomorrow!! silicone molds! Can't wait! Thanks for another spectacular video! lmao This one was extra funny too! xoxo Jen
I think wet glue will run out of the mold when you smash it down, you could use paper clay though:)
Lol, I love your liveliness! For one who hasn't done much crafting in years, I feel like this is a good start to trying my hand. Thank you. ^_^
very very very creative and simple way to have fun great job
Great technique!! I have a ton of silicone molds and I can't wait to give this a try. Thanks so much for sharing! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! ;-)
Wow I love them. I have these molds but use them for clay . Didn't think of hot glue , I'll try it . Thank you

thats a really cute pair of cards xx
HI what a great video is the silence mold a candy mold could they (mint) molds be used.

a little heads up.. when using a glue stick put the glue on both pieces of paper so it will stick together and stay together....
These are cute. Where did you get that little leaf stamp?
Love these and so simple!! I have molds I found while cleaning my room that I haven't used in years. I'm going to make cards for gifts. Thanks!!
fold the card first, glue in the line but ad adhesive to the entire liner, fold, burnish and trim off the excess:)
This is BRILLIANT lady! I made the happy mistake of turning my envelope inside out and had the pattern on the inside! Now that's how I'm making the rest of them! I love it! HAHA! TFS luv! ♥ dig ♥
I agree!
Great Idea. Also a Dr. Who fan.
Very cool. If you just wanted the molded image instead of the halo, would it be easy enough to remove?
MrsMubblefubbles just use less glue;)
Love Love the video Lindsay! had a good laugh along with you! very nice note cards!!! Thank you for sharing!!! Hugs Liz...
Lovely cards, even though I've got problems with tearing up books, my bibliomania peeking out. Hilarious, and helpful.
sounds like a great idea!
Cool technique! It's a great new way to use a supply a new way. JIL

Love those cards :) I need to find some silicon molds.
Hi there. What a terrific idea. Thank you so much. Were would I buy silicone moulds please. Yours look fab. I stay in Scotland. Thank you again.
Catherine Arnott Mine are from the craft store, marhta stewart brand but cake decorating store will have them too!
Varry good

Super cute cards, Lindsay! Thank you for the inspiration. Take care. :)
I love this and her energy is fantastic! And yes, i am always loosing things too. 😄
What a creative idea! I am SO impressed with you! I have been looking for "an image" to impress onto embossing pastes. Do you think the silicon molds would work? Regular stamps stick to the paste and I end up with a pile of goo! Thanks!
likessugar I would leave it on the paste until it dried and then it will peel off OK.
Thanks! That makes sense - because the mold is silicon, it shouldn't stick to the dried paste. You're a Smart Cookie :0)
you too Heidi!
Another great idea!
enjoy your videos so much that I end up getting no crafting done from binge watching lol
You are a Doctor Who fan and a vegetarian? Me too! Now I know why I like you so much. Thank you for the video of crafty goodness!
Love this technique!
Hi Lindsay. What is that Envelope Template and where do you get them? Thank you!
Kreatealope by green sneakers.com
Wow, I really love these cards!! Thank you so much for sharing, and I can't wait to try and make these. :)
thanks!
CAN'T WAIT TO TRY!!!
Beautiful!
Very nice card just the way I like it quick and easy. I make cards for charity and I am always looking for ideas. Just one point if you make 4inches by 6inches you can get three cards out of a twelve by twelve card stock
And it's another winning idea! Thx so much x
Beautiful cards Lindsay tfs :D
totally not nerdy...crafting and Dr WHO rocks!
What is the gold spray?
My sharpies sure don’t blend with copic or prisma. But the prisma and copic blend just fine together.
love the card! very beautiful. enjoyed watching the video. THANK YOU :)
Hey Lindsay, what is the spray you put on after adding marker?
Spray ink made with liquid watercolor and water
Thanks. Love your videos, and you always inspire me!
Awesome technique. Tfs DD.
Love this technique thank you for sharing
My distress markers do the same thing. All juicy one minute and then dry the next. Why?

Thank you so much. Looked on eBay after speaking to you. Thank you so much.

Oh my goodness! I LOVE doctor who!

U are such a happy go lucky person :)
Web link for the template does not work.
Fab idea - thanks for sharing! You're just like me actually, I'm always losing my stuff LOL
wal mart about 100 years ago LOL!
I would initially place the glue form upside down on plain paper and once it has cooled, I would trim around the form with an Exacto knife and then glue the shape on the printed page. I don't like the blobs of glue around the shape.
Hooray for Doctor Who!
You should make a TARDIS themed card/project!
I loose things like that when I craft! I always end up saying " I just saw it" and it usually is right in front of me
hahaha love.the enthusiasm!
Hi, I am looking for these molds. Can someone please tell me where I can find them? Thanks
these are by martha stewart, let me have a look... some are still available on amazon: amzn.to/2CGC4fz but I think they are mostly discontinued but ANY silicone molds will work fine:)
Awesome!!something new to try❣❣
The product link redirects to kickstarter and not a place to.buy this...where would.that be???????????
that's because they were still trying to make more sizes of them, I don' think they are available anymore unfortunately.
