In 2019 I drove myself to the emergency room gasping for air, because my mitral valve regurgitation had filled my lungs with fluid and my ejection fraction was a deadly 14. They pumped a gallon of edema fluid from my body and lungs, and they still won't repair my two leaking heart valves, apparently because I don't suffer the symptoms enough. They don't have the courage to tell me yes, your heart valves are causing your symptoms but we are not going to help you, so they lie to me and tell me the symptoms are from sleep apnea or my kidney, because if they admitted they were caused by my heart valve they would have to fix or replace them. The cardiac industry is a fraud, they are chasing the money. They will perform scans and imaging and tests you don't need because they want the money. Not all of them of course, but when they have monetized you all they can they can put you out to pasture to die. I'm angry, posting this for you from the pasture.

My valve stopped working after a surgical revision on a left knee replacement in the recovery room. I CODED. 4/7/17Knew from echo of mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation August 2016 before knee replaced. You never know when it craps out. Heart murmurs since childhood.
Ask plenty of questions once you know your condition. Pig valve installation was May 2017. Thank the almighty I was in a hospital and not driving a car.

I wouldn’t keep watching it……you might wake up being shocked in the ER room. Just get the surgery done and that’s it. Keyhole minimum invasive surgery can be done safely:)

Don't stress over it. It doesn't give most people enough problems to warrant surgery. Just get your heart checked according to Dr. recommendation. Be sensible, exercise and don's smoke. That helps alot.

didn't answer what happens when you have moderately leakage? Or more severe leakage does that always lead to enlargement? They wait for people to get seriously sick before they operate so they want you to be in agony risking heart failure and then there's no risk to them.

Soo basically if you don’t get it fixed eventually your heart will be damaged and eventually it can get you. So basically if you find you got this get the surgery done….its your heart don’t keep waiting ……😅

    Trivial leakage with no progression?
    Significant leakage with progression?
"Mild" MR but with enlarged left ventricle and left atrium? What if Atrial Fibrillation ensues?

I went to see a cardiologist as I am suffering from arrhythmias. They diagnosed me with ectopic heart beats and he said I am fine and let me go. I read the report of the Angiogram and it said “mild billowing of the mitral valve and mild mitral regurgitation”. This is a cause of arrhythmia and can cause other symptoms…..so now I will be asked to be seen by a surgeon. So yes you need to get your heart operated on. Don’t keep waiting as if you do your heart will get damaged and they can’t replace your heart….
