So i unplugged my external hard drive, cleared space in my xbox and downloaded it without the hard drive and it worked immediately. Not sure exactly why it worked like that but hopefully this will help someone else. I did every other method but downloading it directly to my xbox seemed to be the answer for me. Wishing everyone else luck 🙏🏼

I’ve noticed some of my games whether series x optimized or not, some do not like to install on my external hard drive and get the same error. Try unplugging external hard drives if you are getting the same message

Tryed this last night with suicide squad on disc and no luck. But it will download othet games on disc

I found something that worked for me.
1. Try and install the game that’s giving the error
2. Go to que and then pause installation
3. Hit more options on game in que list
4. Hit see game in Microsoft store
5. Go back to que without quitting the Microsoft store and cancel installation in the que
6. Open the store back up and see if it gives you the option to install from the store now. This is workaround worked for me hope it does for you too 👍🏽

I just hold the botton on the Xbox tell turn off let go my finger then I unplug the power cord on the back of the Xbox Waite 30 sec and put it back turn it on Waite tell Xbox is on and see the Xbox game put the cod in in good go but sucks that I have to do it to again to all my cd games u wanna play
Does anyone know if replacing the console will fix the issue? A few of my friends don't have this issue but im not sure if it's their internet connections or their consoles.

U can try this:
Unplug the network cable if you’re using a wired network connection.
* power off your console unplug the power cord to ensure you’re console is completely off.
* Wait 30 seconds.
* Plug the power cord back in.
* Press and hold the BIND/PAIR button (the one used to sync controllers) and then press the Xbox button on console.
* Continue holding the buttons for 15 seconds.
* Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple seconds apart. Note: if you don’t hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this has failed. Likewise if you hear the power-down chirps, that also means this failed.
* You can release the buttons after the second power-up tone.
* The console should start showing the troubleshooting screen.
* There choose “Restart this Xbox” and then “Keep games and apps”.

I’ve been having a problem where first its installing and then it tells me there’s a update I need to do and I do it and it’s done saying 46Gb of 46 and it’s stuck on that saying installation stopped and not doing anything this is a disc btw

You can thank me later, I tried everything, it all failed. So then I tried doing everything in specific orders for 4 days. Here's what worked for me :
Factory reset your console, select keep games and apps. Then, after you've fully set your Xbox back up, unplug it for 3 minutes, unplug the router, and unplug your controller. After plugging it back in, resume the update/installation, and before it gives you the "installation stopped" message, uninstall the game. Reinstall the game after turning your console off one more time. This is THE ONLY thing that worked for me, I have no idea if it'll work for you too, but here's to hoping.
Edit : just to be sure, I turned my console off while it installed as well.

Went through Microsoft support apparently they can’t do anything unless you send your console back to them joke company as this costs around 300 pounds for me, if anyone finds a fix let me know

Is the account that owns all the games on your Xbox set as My Home Xbox? You can check under general, personalisation, and my home xbox is at the bottom.
