Patina has been done to death man, this one deserves a resto - two new quarters, new floors, you'd be well on your way to a nice 70 Charger. Good channel btw.
I disagree. I think paint it red then paint it black. Sand through the black a little bit to see the red peeking through showing off the body lines.(I'm building a 73 charger mad max style)
Hello, I am 16 years old and live in Iran. I really like the 1970 Dodge Charger that took off in Fast and Furious 1. Also, I'm going to buy one just like that Dodge. I was very happy to see this movie, thank you for making such a movie
These burnt orange 70 chargers r all over the place!! I have an original rt and not a huge fan of that color I wish it was in plum crazy… anyone congrats u got urself a real piece of work. Ie, rust bucket… no discouragements but it’s gonna require a lot of work and money…
Dude!! I am jealous!!! Can’t wait to see what you do! BTW tell your dad hi for us…..we mentioned you in our new video from HRPT22. Thanks again for hanging out with the boys!!!
Just don't be afraid to do the hole job by yourself... that's how lots of guys got started like junkerup/ Chris...buy a mig welder and learn as you go....plenty videos on yt...in a couple of years you'll be a different person...and yes...that engine needs to come out asap and put on a stand until you know what to do with it... you're on to a great start... cheers!
A little bit of love is all it takes! I’m about to tear into mine as well. I love the Burnt Orange! My favorite color! 👍 Glad the hood didn’t go backwards off the car and mess up the rooftop, etc. 😬
It's looking more and more like a real bargain! Maybe you should've left the doors open during the wind storm for a little nature's help in the clean out LOL. Just kidding.
Subscribed just to see how you are gonna get this machine back on the road. JYD did help me bring you to your channel. Excited how a motivated young man is gonna advance his skills and make great content for my old ass to watch😂
I recently got a 70 charger paid a good price for todays standards lol. It’s currently covered in layers of dust! Can’t wait to give it a wash after years of sitting
I am reading all those comments about how great a deal you got. When you said it was half in the ground I thought it was half right and should be buried completely. I am anxious to see what you can do to bring life back to a decaying corpse. In my opinion ( which counts for nothing) the only hope for it is if the structural components are sound. I didn’t see a body panel that didn’t need a lot of help and obviously the engine needs a replacement or complete rebuild. I come from a generation where these were common so I am not tuned into the worth they have now. Good luck to you. I wish you all the best with this one
@@camracing i get the same comments from the older generation. It's easy for them to say ya fix it up because in the 80s you could get the seat recovered for 80$ and a 500$ paint job and a 300$ engine rebuild and you had a brand new car. NOW you have to spend two years and 60,000$ to get it the way they are talkn bout. And im sure they didnt have 60k when they where in there 20s and neither do I . paint and material is over1k and that ain't body panels or nuthen just primer sealer paint clear sand paper tape and paper. Just rebuilt a motor back to stock and it cost 2800$. Can't get parts for the car and when you do there either bad out the box or cost 3 times what they should . hell a trip to the parts store cost 10$ just for gas to get there
Great car. Bummer about the tornado damage though. Some words of advice: don’t waste your time and effort on buffing that paint. It was a $1000 car for a reason. You’ll have to replace almost every piece on it and the time you spend trying to shine paint that is on death row could be spent on disassembly and/or repair. Either way, your car. Enjoy it!
You guys have your work cut out for sure. But dont give up , some work you can do , other work like painting others will do , A work in progress, look foward to the next video. GOOD LUCK GUYS.
Your gonna need to replace the back half of the car anyways so don't sweat it. Plus the drip railing for the rear window and sail panel are common to rust out.
I Love this kid!! The car still has the BIAS PLIES ON!! How Cool to be him and have his dream car that he thought he would NEVER be able to afford!!! AWESOME!! GO GUY GO!! I gotta learn his name! LOL. Thanks for the great content! Ah just got it! His name is Cale! ROCK ON CALE!!
It might be a good idea to tear off what's left of the vinyl top because that's what causes the most rust on these chargers. If you tear off what's left of it, moisture and dirt won't get stuck down in between it and the metal roof causing it to continue to rust
By the time you cut out all the rot you would have removed half the car. You have a long road to travel before that thing is ready to see the road again. Be interesting to see what you do first. 👍✌️🇺🇲
I know it's not likely. But man I wish that engine could be saved. Maybe it can but it'll have to be torn right down and rebuilt from the most minuet part to each re-sleeving if necessary etc. Oh man the end is a heart breaker! He takes it like a man though. Proud of these two guys! I don't even know them but I'm proud of them! That hood might be worth trying to save. It's not so far gone that it might be worth repairing it instead of buying another which might cost more than he paid for the car by three times?? I'm not sure.
Suggestions, cheap tires that hold air, if you still have the 225 stick it in there till the big block is rebuilt so it can move under its own power, not to be driven on the street or off road if you try driving it before repairing the chassis it's going to fold up. And get a tetanus shot
I hope you enjoy your new project. Since you will be to school - college or trade - you may be restricted on the amount of time you can devote to your new baby. IMO getting the most out of school is a high priority for you at this time.
Man when they painted an old car they like forever paint. Now cars are painted with finger paints. The shit now last like 10 years. So when you talked your car in to trade for a new car the paint looks bad all the clear coat comes off. That looks amazing
You would have ended up having to replace that hood anyway...... It wasn't really worth repairing. Best to just try to find a rust-free hood somewhere. And there's all kinds of aftermarket parts for these cars.
I think you should concentrate on getting it running and driving and use it as a Rat Rod then do the body as you go.Otherwise it will be off the Road for years
they charge 130k to retore a car, what planet do high school kids wirking on their first car have that kind of dough??? that car likely has no frame rails, make a couple more videos cleaning it up then part it out...
If he’s got the money to build an LS stock car clone of a 72 duster, Then I’m pretty sure he’s got the money to at least buy parts to make that car OEM restored.
I have a '70 Charger and '86 Buick Grand National. The 2 most annoying things that were said to me: "Paint it like the General Lee!" and "Nice Monte Carlo".
Let me translate for you folks. When someone says they love the patina on a car or the barn finds look, but they're actually saying is there's no chance that I'm going to fork out the money time or effort to actually make this car look decent.
By the way, in accordance with my previous comment, it tells you a lot about how far they're going to go to make it mechanically sound or dependable. Watch and learn. I promise the car is going to run like crap the first time it's driven.
time , patience , a fat wallet, and AMD can fix this car, just dont restomod it way to many resto modded turds running around, for info and advice on parts, look at graveyardcarz, wildcat auto wrecking in Oregon
Man nice seeing some young men loving mopars. Bought myGTX when I was 15. 43 years later I still have it. Best of luck to you.
U hit the lottery with that gem cam keep us up dated.
U ROCK!!!
Haha will do, appreciate it man!
Bro I saw that body filler spot and was like DANGGGGGGGG. This project is rad.
Patina has been done to death man, this one deserves a resto - two new quarters, new floors, you'd be well on your way to a nice 70 Charger. Good channel btw.
Appreciate it!
I disagree. I think paint it red then paint it black. Sand through the black a little bit to see the red peeking through showing off the body lines.(I'm building a 73 charger mad max style)
Nice score on the Burnt Orange 70 Charger. Makes me miss mine big time.

Can’t wait to see all the metal work on this one. Love those videos
Just found your channel. Awesome to see another young guy with mopars. I'm 21 and have a channel here too.
These burnt orange 70 chargers r all over the place!! I have an original rt and not a huge fan of that color I wish it was in plum crazy… anyone congrats u got urself a real piece of work. Ie, rust bucket… no discouragements but it’s gonna require a lot of work and money…
It's going to be amazing. Can I have Amazon ship you a microphone?
He definitely need one
He needs a camera first. All good things take time.
That would be amazing. 😁👍🏻👍🏻
Dude!! I am jealous!!! Can’t wait to see what you do! BTW tell your dad hi for us…..we mentioned you in our new video from HRPT22. Thanks again for hanging out with the boys!!!
Of course! That was a fun time!
That's actually a great color for that body! Not common - but it works.
Burnt orange is one of my favorite colors on the 70 Charger 🤩
Just don't be afraid to do the hole job by yourself... that's how lots of guys got started like junkerup/ Chris...buy a mig welder and learn as you go....plenty videos on yt...in a couple of years you'll be a different person...and yes...that engine needs to come out asap and put on a stand until you know what to do with it... you're on to a great start... cheers!
This is great, now I get to watch another sweet Mopar get a new lease on life. Keep it going, love the videos.
Nice work man! Def was a good choice to power wash it. Keep up the great content!
Appreciate the support!
Good call on pressure washing the charger! It needed to have its beauty admired!
A little bit of love is all it takes! I’m about to tear into mine as well. I love the Burnt Orange! My favorite color! 👍
Glad the hood didn’t go backwards off the car and mess up the rooftop, etc. 😬
I definitely lucked out there. It’s a good color when it shines up!
It's looking more and more like a real bargain! Maybe you should've left the doors open during the wind storm for a little nature's help in the clean out LOL. Just kidding.
Haha honestly wouldn’t have been a bad idea
Seeing this thing come clean is so satisfying to watch. 😁👍🏻👍🏻
super excited to see what you do with this car
Me too haha, I’m not sure exactly what the plan is but I’ll come up with something
That paint is looking great, sucks about the hood. Hope Kevins house and stuff is ok. Looking forward to the interior clean out. Stay safe out there.
Sweet lookin car, now the fun begins. Can't wait to see more.

Thank you! I’m not really interested in a full restoration, I kinda like the ratty stuff more. I think this car is perfect for that
@@camracing i get the same comments from the older generation. Mopars in general we not made to last. Either way, great looking car. 70 Roadrunner, or Charger were my favorites. Good luck kid
Great car. Bummer about the tornado damage though.

Have you ran the vin on it for the options hit has

You gotta put a hot big block in that thing! Anything less would be an absolute insult to to the Mopar gods!
I have a 72 duster 340 that needs a ton of body work thats how i found you was looking how to put a tail panel in a 72 duster

You got a good deal! It has over 3500 in parts on it
Still can’t believe you got that for 1k. It would have been hard to keep my composure infront of the owner if I was buying that car.
It was definitely tough, I was shaking cause I was so excited haha
By the time you cut out all the rot you would have removed half the car. You have a long road to travel before that thing is ready to see the road again. Be interesting to see what you do first. 👍✌️🇺🇲
From where u find those cars
Congrats cam
Appreciate it man!
I think the name of the color you're trying to think about is "Burnt Orange Metallic". It's actually a pretty rare color!
Your one blessed man to get one
AMD will love you!!
Did you happen to put classic car insurance on it yet or na?
Sad to know I’ll never get one because everything is going electric and I can’t even tell you how lucky you are to have one of these
Going to be a fun build !
Call Mark Wormin of Graveyard cars...he
s looking for his '70 Charger in just that color...
Color is turbine bronze...first used on the Chrysler turbine cars in the early 60's
I know it's not likely. But man I wish that engine could be saved. Haha the slant is long gone, I want to get it running and driving kind of as is, but we’ll see
he looks like that guy that does the seat belt commerce bulked up
Looks to be a fk5 burnt orange 383 2bbl. Nothing looks better than a 1970 charger
Made out like a bandit at that price, now get it back on the road and enjoy.
I hope you enjoy your new project. Since you will be to school - college or trade - you may be restricted on the amount of time you can devote to your new baby. IMO getting the most out of school is a high priority for you at this time.
According to what I could find, that color or one similar is still used. It is called Go Mango.
The code is FK5 which is called dark burnt orange by Mopar
Go Mango was a lot brighter orange
Cool car... just get it running and back on the road and enjoy it. Maybe restore it/upgrade while you drive it for as long as you can...
Amigo Soy fanatico del Charger Lamentablemente para mí es imposible comprar uno Saludos desde Argentina
Great car! Fix it up and never sell it! Enjoy!
Fantastic
If you don’t mind me asking. $$? Looking for one also. Nice cars
Beautiful Dodge ❤️
Good find
You should got ahead and remove that vinyl so it don’t rot the roof anymore than necessary
I’m debating, there isn’t much left but I think I’ll take the vinyl off the sail panels
Man when they painted an old car they like forever paint. Now cars are painted with finger paints. The shit now last like 10 years. So when you talked your car in to trade for a new car the paint looks bad all the clear coat comes off. That looks amazing

I would rather have a car like this one. Its better than a rich mans numbers matching trailer queen.
yikes bad luck on the hood. Don't think they reproduce 70 charger hood or front quarters.
I think you should concentrate on getting it running and driving and use it as a Rat Rod then do the body as you go.Otherwise it will be off the Road for years
I have a question
How much dollar did u spent to buy this charger junk.
Plus answer me
Awesome 😁
There must be a demand for old mopars muscle cars
That car is worth more than it was just because of some water
Haha looks can be deceiving
It'll buff out.
I bet you there's a VW underneath all of that bondo. 🙂
When is too much not enough.
When is, I got more time to consume.
Awesome or Dawn comes to mind.
Mark worman of graveyard cars would love this fk5 isint it?
Bummer on the hood. It’ll probably cost you as much as you paid for the whole car to replace it.
Dude seriously get Mark Worman to restore that car, that car is too rare in value to modify.
they charge 130k to retore a car, what planet do high school kids wirking on their first car have that kind of dough??? that car likely has no frame rails, make a couple more videos cleaning it up then part it out...

👍
Floors , quarters , brakes, used camper 440 and you will be ready to ride
392/8speed swap it and add vintage air
Shittle buff right out😎
the color is burnt orange
Hemi orange
I guess no one knows how too do body work and paint ! Rust ! Patina is not a word it’s called rust !
There is no such thing as 'cool patina'.
The charger cannot be LSested
How much did you pay for this?
$1.000 dollars
Sun burnt orange
AMD will be your new best friend! What’s the inside of the trunk look like?
come on
15:40... Dude you need to bathe. Your hair shouldn't be that dirty outside your hat. :p
when everything is fixed on the car it would look cool as a general lee
@@jamesthev5607 same body style though
I have a '70 Charger and '86 Buick Grand National. The 2 most annoying things that were said to me: "Paint it like the General Lee!" and "Nice Monte Carlo".
