The way she played this year probably exhausted her for 2014 season. Her 2013 is the best ever in women's tennis
In 2014, Serena was too thin which left her weak, her wig was too heavy, & players started reading her serve better. She became too predictable in her patterns & needed to mix it up. Once Serena put some meat on her bones, ditched the long blonde wig, & mixed up her serve she won 3 Slams the next year while sick for three of them, lol.
The Steffi Graf fanatics are going to come for you very soon. On a more serious note her level of play was incredibly high.

Prime Serena was lethal. Her strokes had so much spice in them, and those frequent touches in the drop shots. She used to be a MONSTER. Nobody did it like she did.
The US men need to watch Serena's game. They're not aggressive or well rounded enough. Her serve is the best, her transition game was on point, she worked her angles & found the court, she wasn't afraid to move forward & volley, she was prepared for extra shots ahead of her opponent, her net game & movement was so solid. She made it look easier than it is.
I agree with all you said! Serena knew where to hit the ball at the right time. My favorite is when the opponent would hit the ball to Serena, and immediately the opponent would start running to the opposite side of the court, but Serena would hit the ball behind her opponent, not in front of her as expected!😂😂😂 It made her opponents look like they had been tricked into going the wrong direction!😅.
I miss the old Serena, she stayed at number 1 so often, until she started her family. Everybody should have a family when they want, but I wish she would’ve waited just 2 years to start her lovely family!!❤❤❤

Serena was Incredible on Clay winning everything in sight including the French, Not even the so- called Giants on Clay (Henin) achieved that feat.
There’s none greater!!! I wish we could return to those glory years, because I was so busy with challenges in my personal life, thus I miss these glorious years when Serena was reigning Supreme and constantly winning! If it wasn’t for Serena, the USA would’ve been a no-show in the top 10! Then came Ash Barty, and now the Eastern European women are ruling the top 10. I believe Coco will bring us back!

Serena was such an awesome player, but she was also entertaining. Some people thought she was being a show off, but Serena was performing and being a ham😂, thus making it worth your watch!!😂❤
Even though some women have posted some statistically better seasons than Serena of 2013, her level of play was incredibly high. Considering the depth of the top 100 players where most of the players are powerful and athletic, and the availability of so much data and tools to analyse a player's game ,she did very well
That match against Francesca was truly a blockbuster. Awesome play from both & a wonderful exchange at the net where Serena told Francesca she was an inspiration to her.

Kirilenko has absolutely no idea how to finish off Serena 🤣 she never stood a chance even FO2004 and her set points here, she never believed and had the look on her face from start to finish like “fml I don’t belong here” 😂
