I never thought I'd make this video. I've never been a Silent Hill fan, so I wasn't looking forward to this at all. Bloober being involved didn't help either. Well, I'm really impressed by how it turned out.
I liked this way more than I expected, and also liked some of the easter eggs they hid in there as well. Here are some of my favourites!

I really liked this remake. I have no nostalgia for this series, but I was really impressed by what Bloober did, and I'm excited to see them remaking the rest of the series.

Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition.
Theres also Silent Hill 1 and 3. 4 is seen as the worst in the series but its still a great game on it’s own and is getting a lot more praise recently.
Silent Hill 1, 3 and 4. Downpour is seen as a bad sheep but it has some good ideas
maybe 3 for the next video by the hiding content that he got compared to the other. This one or the original Silent hill 2 (I know they got secret ending but I don't know if he got real "easter egg appart some ref of other media they take inspiration for making the game or the team itself)
Ehhh the Silent HIll games entirely can be a mixed bag but that mostly is up to the person playing it. 3's a pretty good sequel tho.
The original quadrilogy by Team Silent! Silent Hill 1 can be emulated, Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition, Silent Hill 3 did have a pc port but is abandonware so feel free to get it however you wish, Silent Hill 4 is on GOG.

I am so glad to see the UFO and Dog ending return. Obviously they would have done considering they wanted a faithful remake, but it's still so charming to see.
Even though I wish they included the credits for the dog ending, I was impressed by how they remade it. I love how James speaks in Polish, like how James speaks Japanese in the original.
@@FunWithGuru The slightly janky animation on those dog arms also feels appropriately PS2, which I find genuinely endearing.

Eddie eating the melted ice cream with his hands was diabolical.
I thought it was a bit too goofy when I saw footage of it, but I think it's perfect in the context of the game. He's just mindlessly gorging.
I wasn't aware how self loathing he was. The food is basically his version of James' monsters. Food is his weakness.
Is it melted? It's implied his Silent Hill is cold.
Still, not using a spoon is disturbing.

His other world is icy, if you also look at the prison scene, the table and the setting has icicle

just to be clear, the comic sans silent hill ranch sign is from the poorly made HD collection version of SH2 and not from the original PS2 release
That 0451 code goes all the way back to the first system shock game. Many people think it's a reference to Fahrenheit 451 but it's really just a reference to the code that gets you into the medical bay in System Shock
Looking glass code. The code that got the looking glass employees into the building
the thing is - that original reference IS from Fahrenheit 451 - System Shock referenced the book with the code and then it just went from there. Unfortunately not many people read the book so most think its the SS1 reference.
When I walked by that shed in Silent Hill 2 (2024) very early on I looked at the sign and remembered the Comic Sans font. I had no idea it was hidden within that same ranch. Great find! Gosh, I wish we got an accurate port of Silent Hill, Silent Hill 2 (2001) and Silent Hill 3 for modern consoles and PC. I guess I still got my original copies, a PS2 and CRT around, so that's good.
It's crazy that none of the Team Silent developed SH games are on Steam. I imagine Konami looks at the success of the remake and works on porting them over.
I think the only game still buyable on PC is Silent Hill 4 on GOG.
If you have the original game then why are you remembering the comic sans sign? That isn't in the original versions, just the HD collection.
@@KingRey. I realise that, I made the mistake all those years ago to buy that collection in an effort to play an accurate port at a higher resolution but… yeah we know what happend. I guess the comic sans sign left an impression. Nowadays I just play the originals.

I love how the developers were aware about the references and call backs that the fans were hoping to have in the original
that was some nice Park Chan-wook transition on 1:10.
Don't forget the hidden "Halo of the Sun" hidden in the hotel partially behind torn wallpaper, and the bathroom from the room you get the Jukebox key from, is an EXACT replica of the apartment bathroom in SH4, hole and all.
4:05 Now I understand why I hear the strange sighs and voices in the rooms. It was Mary’s suffering voice all along. Man, the game gives you the deepest signs that you only understand after it ends...
This remake is so fine
I still can't believe how good it is. All of my complaints are minor and can be fixed with an update. The core design and feel of the game are pretty much perfect in my eyes.

Something funny happened to me for the Easter egg of the minute 0:43
I have knowledge of this Easter egg since a very long time and any time I see a number pad with a password I always try the classic 0451, in the remake I found this safe and I tried the code blinded and it worked, I was shocked and then Maria was attacked by a monster and I had to hold my laugh so hard because I was playing at 1am XDDDDD

It's funny how much hate this game is still getting from people who haven't played it, and don't appreciate the quality work Bloober Team did. It was certainly fair to be skeptical given early trailers and the significance the original game held, but criticism should be even-handed. You can still ding the game for changing aspects like Maria's outfit and face, as well as Angela's face, but it's not nearly as egregious as the Dead Rising "Remaster" that completely removed and downgraded the amazing performances by the original V/A cast. Thanks Bloober for delivering!
I agree. There are absolutely things to be annoyed by (lack of unlockables, angela's look being a bit flat, etc) but a lot of the hate it gets feels forced.
My favourite example was people screeching about how a neon sign shaped like a stripper was made to look fat... not knowing that was how it looked in the original.
There are also mods on Nexus attempting to make Angela and Maria prettier... and they all look horrifying. I'm not against raising concerns about DEI's impact on art or whatever, but the DEI hysteria is breaking people's brains.

I don't remember if it's all the time, or in a specific part, but the pause menu can faintly show a closeup of James' eye from the original game.

Hey! I did know that. It's probably my favourite easter egg in the game because it feels so unlike other the easter eggs. It's like a lone developer threw it in without telling anyone.

I'd love to make Wukong video. They even offered me an insane amount of money to make one. There just aren't any easter eggs or even details to make a video with.
It's mostly references to the chinese TV show which don't appeal to me or my audience. There aren't even any examples of attention to detail that surprised me. That stuff just wasn't a priority for them.
Dude I thought this game was gonna blow harder than Hurricane Milton but it actually turned out half decent... good job to Bloober team, also if you want another Good Silent Hill game that plays a bit more like an Outlast or Amnesia you should check out Shattered Memories, The Wii version is the best version.
I actually played Shattered Memories recently for a video I was working on. I didn't get too far, but I thought there was some really cool stuff in there.
I really liked the part where you colour in a child's family photo, and later have a flashback where the house and clothes are the same colours you used.

There's a ton! I cut some of them out because most of my audience probably don't care about Silent Hill.
One of my favourite obscure references is a VHS tape in the Hospital. It's for a movie called SHOOT, which was a fake movie from the first Silent Hill.

I didn't include it because I don't think it's a reference. It was a well known painting before Signalis. In this game, I think it represents the Rebirth ending which takes place on a small island.

For the ufo endings theres 3 more locations you need to investigate the gem at for the full ufo endings

At 3:24, some of the pictures on the left are maps from Rainbow 6 Siege you put there as an easter egg, right? I can recognize Bank, Theme Park and maybe Hereford? I don't know how the original looks, but i swear i see 2-3 Siege maps there.

I think it's inevitable and I can't wait! Konami has been going hard on Silent Hill recently, and both Bloober and Konami haven't seen success like this in a while.

0451 is a code for the first door in all Deus Ex games, System Shock games and I *think* something else
It's also in all 3 Bioshock games, as well as all 3 Dishonored games.
0451 is also a famous code wich is an obscure meme in Bioshock franchise
The origin of the code is the office of the System Shock developers. It was the code to get into the building.
It's since appeared in all the Bioshock games, I believe.

Also if you go there at night you get an achievement called "everything in order" and theres an order symbol underneath some ripped wallpaper.
Yeah! I recorded that but left it out because I didn't want to spend too long on SIlent Hill references. There's a ton of them in the game.
