Wife’s brothers almost died from carbon monoxide poisoning from crack in floor about 60 years ago. So. Important to have a tight seal on those ondol floors to keep the fumes out. When I visited a Korean home in the winter as a guest I was given the warmest place on the floor to sit. Yes I was in the hot seat. My rear end was smoking!

It must be made well so that smoke does not leak.
Building a beautiful traditional Korean house (Hanok) and installing a Korean underfloor heating system (Ondol) sounds like an amazing project that blends tradition with innovation!

the most amazing thing about traditional Asian building traditions is their respect for natural materials, even or especially when they use 'manmade' materials such as steel and glass as 'natural'. Ultimately there is no more sustainable way for humans to build. Not surprising that such buildings attain the highest praise for beauty. People who view them want to live with them - indefinitely.

Fell in love with Hanok homes 51 years ago when I served 31 months in the army. If I was not an old man I would not mind living in a Hanok in Korea for awhile. Kimchee is too hot for me except mul kimchee but I love noodles and bulgogi. Chosumnida chingu carpenters. Anyang.

Beautiful wood work. Those T-joints on top of the first pillars were sexy. You guys showed him marking and cutting that cope against the stone/concrete? But didn't show the end result. What the....? I'm guessing not the tightest? But every joint I saw was terrific. Cool video. I've been a wood Butcher for thirty years now would love to work on one of these.

This was AWESOME!! I've never seen how Korean-style home framing was done, and it is VERY similar to Japanese house framing, yet different enough to be a completely separate style and technique...
And I've NEVER heard of the Ondol heating system before and was VERY CONFUSED when it was starting to be shown in the video lol I had NO CLUE what was being built and didn't realize it was a heating system until the paper was first burned LOL (I hadn't full read the title lol) It's a pretty ingenious way to heat the home, but I do notice a small problem with the way it is set up... you HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE to add wood to the fire.... which TOTALLY CANCELLS OUT any warming up you gained from being inside..... So you HAVE to GET DRESS to just add another log?? And what about when it's raining??? Man that would SUCK growing up in a house like that... because you KNOW the parents would ALWAYS make the kids the ones to put more wood on the fire!! HAHAA!!! (But I bet the house was ALWAYS NICE 'n' WARM!!!

혹시 알고 계시는지 모르겠는데 나무 샌딩 할 때 그라인더에 원형 페이퍼를 쓰는 것 같은데
"악티록스 연마석" 이라고 있어요.
원래는 용접 후 샌딩이나 녹 제거 용 쇠붙이 연마용으로 나온 것 같은데
이것 나무 샌딩 할 때 쓰면 죽여 줍니다. 망치 자루를 깎는데 칼로 무우 깎듯 하더군요.
나무에는 페이퍼 종류에 비하면 가성비 게임이 안됩니다.
처음 알았습니다.
지금... 검색 해 봤습니다. 원목 기둥을 샌딩할 때 좋을 것 같습니다.

전통 한옥은 아니고 퓨전 한옥 같군요.
특히 지붕에 경량 목구조가 짬뽕되어 한옥 지붕의 곡선미가 사라진 게 아쉽습니다.
전에 구들방 지으실 때 말씀드린 것 같은데, 벽체를 경량 목구조 방식으로 insulation을 사용해 단열하는 건 괜찮은데, 지붕을 저렇게 해버리면 한옥 지붕의 아름다운 곡선미가 사라지고 맙니다. 차라리 처음부터 경량 목구조 방식으로 서까래를 만들었다면, 불필요한 경비가 많이 줄었을 것 같네요.
좋은 의견 감사합니다.
요즘 백프로 옛날방식대로 짓는 것도 좋지만, 일반 가정집인데 괜찮다고 봅니다.
