    As a console player, the aim assist doesnt lock on the target, only helps you to stay the aim on target. And this guy locks in the enemy

      Yeah, the sudden flicks are a dead giveaway that it's an aimbot. Aim assist decreases your turning speed as your crosshair passes over someone, while this person's sensitivity seems to increase when their crosshair passes over someone.

The second game only further provides evidence that blizzard's "Defense Matrix" is garbage. Which, now that we know PvE has been internally cancelled for awhile makes this outlandish cheating not being caught by the "Defense Matrix" even more laughable.

    Aim assist is sort of like aim smoothing. So on a certain range when moving the thumbstick the aim stays relatively mellow and smooth movements but when you push it to the max right or left then the speed kicks on. That’s what I’ve noticed. Sometimes you get pulling too from quick moving targets which can be annoying.

    Flats an easy tip for you to tell if a game is console or PC is the strafe speed. U can strafe side to side faster on PC than console. The directional change is must faster. Also side note there is a lot of ways to cheat while using a controller. There is the side you're use to seeing is third party programs on the PC changing the input then there is the more direct ones that act as a middle man between controller and device called cronos zen that modifies input before it reaches the device. There is also another device called a cronos strike pack that can be plugged into the controller itself acts similarity to the zen as a man in the middle device. Based on the video it appears he is using a trigger bot that will adjust aim as soon as trigger is depressed

    • @KogaHarine
      @KogaHarine Год назад +1

      This only applies to any other game than OW though. OW doesn't have movement acceleration like other FPS games. The transition from standing to running is instant so on console you can definitely AD strafe if you are good at flicking the controller left and right at a decent pace. Especially if you fine tune your controller settings to make deadzones smaller so the transition is instant like it would be on KB. I use steam input to customize my settings for deadzones and even added a trigger dampening effect for my gyro aiming so when I'm actually shooting it slows my reticle down for better control.

    • @nanobotkemo
      @nanobotkemo Год назад +2

      @@KogaHarine yes while that's true how much of the average player base does this. Generally speaking 70% of console players aren't hard flicking or changing deadzones on the left stick. And in this I'm only referring to console players not steam

    There is two different types of aim assist in Overwatch 2, there is classic which most people have and it just slows down the aim when near the enemy. Then there is legacy which on PC would look like aimbot because it auto tracks onto people near your crosshair and tbh most people don't use it because it can be very annoying when there is more than one person as it flicks in between one another.

    The best way to describe aim assist is that it's similar to mouse acceleration but instead of the distance traveled being proportional to mouse speed, it's proportional to the distance from a target (with a threshold). In other words, when your crosshair is near a target, it goes at 0.5 sensitivity (example), when you're not as near but still within the assist threshold and moving toward the target, it goes at 1.5 sensitivity (again, example)

    A nice way to explain overwatch aimassist is that it more so helps you not over shot your target. For example go to the training range and spin around, you'll notice on console you slow down, not lock onto any enemies. It's not the best bet it can help in some ways.
    Now this, is not ow aim assist. This locks onto people. Not only that imo it also looks weird af the way they aim, just doesn't look right

  • @JamesWick-ds9gu

    You can see the tracer’s aim while not shooting look slightly below head level but the second they start shooting their aim locks onto the enemy and when they stop shooting they flick back to that aim thats slightly below head level after a sec, their true aim.
    Its noticable at 8:00 when shooting the genji, a normal player after perfectly tracking the genji would still track the deflecting genji, but you see them inexplicably flick downwards. I mean if you are tracking them that well why not wait and keep your crosshairs on a totally done genji while ur at full health.

    I play on PS5 and the way Aim Assist works is that it basically adds a scalable window over the enemy's hitbox. While your crosshairs are inside the window, your aim sensitivity will be reduced by like 30% at max strength.
    Another thing Aim Assist does is that if you only use your movement joystick without interacting with the aim joystick, and your crosshairs hit an Aim Assist window, your crosshairs will slightly "stick" to the window, making it look like it's locking onto the target, but even at max strength, it's not as crazy as it is with this guy. In fact, your crosshairs will only tilt like 15° at full strength and at point blanc, which means that the tilt is much weaker the further away your target is, so it's not even that strong to begin with.
    Unless you do micromovements like "shimmying", which aren't enough to move your "window" away from the enemy's crosshairs and therefore messing up their Aim Assist which forces them to use the aim joystick which then cancels the slight "lock on" feature, a console player should never be locking onto you like this 😉

    Okay, so having used Aim Assist on Consoles to play FPS such as Destiny 1 and 2 and Overwatch, it doesn't lock onto a target, it accelerates the movement towards a target already within a certain proximity of the reticle, and slows it as the reticle nears and inevitably stops over the target. This can actually cause momentary 'drag' in the aiming if two targets cross one over the other, or for the target to lag slightly behind a target you're trying to lead, but it also means that a target can't just juke left then right and watch you overturn in either direction.

  • @poboing2503

    Aim assist just helps guide the aim by slowing down the sensitivity and offering a super slight drift along with any targets within the window, so if you’re aiming through the whole team on the backline, it’ll probably get thrown around as targets strafe through the window, but in any direct confrontation it helps keep aim on target but isn’t the end all be all it seems it would be with the name aim assist. Though I do think it’s unfair in any situations where it’s a competitive scenario and you have MnK and controller players fighting against one another, as now you’re playing with different rules either as a MnK or controller player to make it fair.
