I think the "draw" in "Draw and Write" is referring to drawing tokens from the bag (instead of rolling dice or flipping cards) 😂 Thanks for the review - hopefully picking this one up soon!
This was a fantastic game… really gives you the feeling of Orleans. My only large complaint is that the symbols on the papers are so small that’s it’s quite hard to see, especially the workers. That being said, the vast setup time difference between this and Orleans means I’ll often want to play this more.
@@RulebooksForYouWhich other version are they comparing it to? They say the Capstone version is clearer but clearer than what? The European DLP version? I was going to buy the European version as I’m in the UK but now wondering if I need to import the Capstone version from the US?
I got this as a Christmas gift from my brother, played it several times and it is fine, not overly complicated and the theme is very similar to Orléans. So if you like Orléans and don't hate roll'n write games I'd recommend it. Solo version tacked on and takes up half of the sheets, but seems impossible to avoid these days.
It boggles my mind how the colour choices of dark grey, dark brown, and black on that pad made it through even a single round of prototype playtesting. It's a really great little game, but that visual design was staggeringly shortsighted.
It's so weird how many people does not know that saint Joan is the OFFICIAL SAINT of catholic church - it's like putting f.e. saint Theresa from Lisieux on the game cover and removing the halo symbol...
It sounds like the only issue you both had is something that color-blind people go through with every game (except they cannot easily make out the colors, and you cannot easily make out the shapes/poses).
Saw it being played, seemed to drag on a long time for a 3 pllayer roll and write. And that art.......someone at that place needs to hire a new artist, that cover alone...... 😢
So glad to see that the rulebook was seen as an improvement - thank you ❤ I do my best 😊
Hooray for reviews with Wendy! I always appreciate her opinion because her preferences are most like mine. 😊

My mind was just blown! That makes way more sense.
Yeah, it was intended as “Draw” from the bag haha
I know a lot of people don't like this artwork but I love it!
I value a diversity so it's great to see a visually impaired person partaking in the hobby! 😂
@@Shoitaan just put on my glasses. You're right, this cover is barf
Never played the other Orleans but I got the Draw&write version because I do love them.
Thank you for this review. ❤
Orleans is one of my favorite games, and a streamlined version means it would hit the table more often. I will have to check this out.

Wow they said the Capstone edition has slightly better art?? It’s already pretty unclear lol.
I added a lot of art to the rulebook to make it nicer too ;)

@@VoiceofFox Compared to the DLP version (which I edited into the Capstone version).
@@RulebooksForYou Thanks for the clarification! I’ll get the Capstone version in that case. 👍
I took draw and write means drawing the chips from the bag or drawing cards.

The drafting element reminds me of the Rajas of the Ganges roll and write.
Really fantastic game! Great solo as well!
I just bought this a coupe weeks ago but have not played
Are matches included?

Who cares.
No dollars in Orléans, Wendy ;)
You draw counters from a bag. You don't roll dice. So it's a draw and write game.
Pet peeve, sorry, but there is no "x" or x sound in the words "especially" or "et cetera".

True, and I believe games should be color-blind as well as no color-blind friendly as well.
I hated the look and graphic design of this game. It was so hard for me to tell colors and icons apart.
I love Orleans, but I hated this game.
