HA! Alan you are the most wonderful positive fun personality to watch. I must say over 50yrs I have invested heavily in ink pens and mostly unhappy when every time I pick up one it isn't ready to go. Here you are with a clothespin!!!! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Next I expect to see those video people rating and explaining how to care for a GENUINE OWEN INK PEN. PS this is a classic lesson, thoroughly enjoyed. THanks
Lorraine .you always make my day ,I love your comments , I never worry if it looks good or bad ,, I just go to it who cares ,,I feel at times I am back in the class room and talking to my friends ,because I miss it i suppose . love every one of you . and love from my family to yours.
Thank You so much Alan. I get up here in eastern TN close to Chattanooga early and put you on my pc and make a pot of coffee and watch and listen to you and you help me paint better. Keep up the great work. Franklin Sevy
Thanks for your tutorials! I'm a beginner and I have painted with you a couple of times now. Like it when I see your sketch really clear on this. Keep it up!
Lovely work. I'm so glad I've found you. I've taken up acrylic painting since I retired, so quite new to it. Have always considered watercolour very intimidating, but it isn't when you explain it. watercolour is so much easier to carry along and I would like to get comfortable with it. Watching you sketch is very informative, as that is my very weakest art skill. Keep telling us stories! Thank you.
Alan, I have just watched you for the first time and love the pen and wash painting, I will try and copy it to give me some idea how pen and wash should look in the final result. I have also looked at some of your water colours and they are reminiscent of Edward Wesson RA, thank you for your time patience and expertise. Richard
I so enjoy watching you draw! It really helps me with perspective and gives me hope that I can do it!. I'm going to give this one a go as a paint along Sunday while the rest of the family is watching the Super Bowl. I think your pen worked out really well! I've only got a fountain pen so will use that. Thank you so much for this tutorial and all the other's you've done!
I was hoping you would do the painting on the header. I have loved that painting. Remember the one you did with the boats on your email. I have tried to paint that one. I love that one too! Thanks Alan. I need to start shaking. :-)
I'm new here, it's nice to meet you. I look forward to visiting again. Thanks for sharing these videos. I will be back. Good day to you. Warmly... ~ Karla

Alan, I have read more about you and see that you are a follower of Edward Wesson, he was a friend of my Grandfather's, through Art classes, they were a similar age, I inherited an original Edward Wesson which hangs in pride of place over my Fireplace, I would send you a photo if I could attach it!! Kind regards, Richard
Alan, that was wonderful watching you do that pen and ink drawing. What type of ink are you using? I have never used this before and I'm dying to have a go.

I picked it off the washing line ,its a wooden clothes peg split in two and a point made to it with my penknife ,,, cheers bottoms up
@@AlanOwen I'll have to try that clothes pin pen!
An old tractor on the left of course if I was doing this. I like this kind of art.
Just a thought, ld like to see this as not a place to be late a night. Still it’s your painting.
What is the brand of ink? I used pen and when added the colors the ink made a mess.
I use acrylic ink but if you have some good quality black acrylic add a little water and use ..make sure it is dry before painting over
Thank you.
Thank you. Very interesting.
