We Tried the Car Builder and Career Mode on EA Sports WRC!

- In the second of our two preview videos, we take a closer look at some of the interesting new features in EA SPORTS WRC.
With innovative new ideas like the rally car builder, a bespoke photo mode, regularity rallies, a scenario-based ‘Moments’ mode, plus expansive career and rally school modes, EA SPORTS WRC is set to be the most varied and content-rich rally game ever made.
Our first preview video showed how well the game felt even at this early stage, and, combined with a plethora of new ideas it’s set to be a rally fan’s dream.

It doesn't really have anything to do with the game, but I like the simple, clean menu. Codemasters could take that over to the F1 game.
Yap, I'm still lost sometimes on the F1 23 menu.
Has absolutely to do with the game! And you're right, the menu is very simple and easy to maneuver around, I think it's a great add
F1 games need a full overhaul, game has the same cut scenes, crash scenes, dialogs, driver avatars (the real drivers look worse today than 2015)... honestly, the game hasn't changes much since 2015...
Anyone who's played Automation will be excited that the car building concept has made it's way into an official game now. Though hopefully the options list for parts will grow and develop over time.

4:54 What's the deal with an event hidden behind the EA Play logo? I really hope it's not a suggestion that some of the content will be available only to EA Play subscribers.
Some events in Moments mode are exclusive to EA PLAY subscribers.

@@aghastinagharta Dude it's one of 4 moments... it's fine... you have a ton of things to do... and moments will be just quick little runs that will take you like an hour or so to complete them all... 99% of your time will not be in moments... if you're buying this game for moments you're doing something wrong...
@@sportschool3537 Dude, 99% of my time in DiRT Rally 2.0 was in Dailies, Weeklies and Monthlies. These will no longer be in EA WRC and Moments will be taking their place. So in other words they are getting rid of a lot of daily content, providing a lot less in return, with which some of it will be hidden behind a monthly subscription. Do you see why I care about it?
Regularity Rally looks *really* relaxing. Could be the ultimate gaming ASMR :p
Plus I think it can be a good way to learn new stages, like some sort of recce.
And I believe it's based on real rallies, like the Carrera Panamericana that is made up of mostly historical cars that is not speed based.
Really surprised by the inclusion of Regularity rallying. I used to compete in regularity rallies in South Africa 20 years ago; they were both huge fun and very boring as a driver, and required a lot of concentration and calculation from the co-driver.
Something different, that people can choose whether to engage in or not. I actually marshalled on a regularity rally once when I was younger, felt like it was all about the community!
@@TraxionGG I think it's great that it's in the sim. Can't wait to try it. Every heard of leapfrog marshalling? Organiser sends someone out to first checkpoint. Car 1 arrives, gets their time clocked and then takes over to marshall all other cars. Once the last car has gone past, car 1 then carries on. Great community spirit in that too

did I just spot an "EA Play unlocked" logo? this is exactly what people feared would happen and EA are not disappointing them...
Tire management? Repairs? How do these work?
Also disappointed that we lose control of the car post-finish line. I loved that extra layer of immersion (and driving skill on occasion) in Dirt Rally 2.0
If it's like DR2 that's just for time trial. Career mode and others had you controlling the car post-finish line.
@@emptylyles will that would explain it I never did time trial in DR2.0. I'm all about the immersion, and time trial isn't very immersive to begin with. I pretty much stick to career and custom rallies, with the occasional dip into the dailies/weeklies/monthlies.
Don't like that I can't do hardcore damage in those but it satisfies the competitive itch when my friends aren't around.

I wish you could drive recce cars, or build your own, in the regularity rallies since it all really looks like a recce.
Just a regular car with gravel tyres to learn the stage before tackling it with a rally car.

As a diehard fan of Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, EA SPORTS WRC is absolutely huge for CMR/DiRT series!
Regularity rally looks like the chillest and tense experience at the same time. No surprise if I send more time in there than main campaign.
It is fun! I think it’s a good way to learn a stage and try something different, and at the end of the day it doesn’t take away from anything else in the game, just a nice little addition. Enjoy!

Finally a WRC game matching the quality of rallying. The builder mode looks really interesting and I reckon modders will be able to put some nice things in it, like the return of old manufacturers that no longer compete in the WRC. Kudos to EA Sports.
Career mode is giving me some shift 2 unleashed vibes for some reason. Very excited for this game, glad to see Rally Racing getting some love.

Hopefully the daily challenges aren't locked behind owning each car like it was in DR2. I think that was the most bizarre decision I can remember in a racing game lol
This game was not on my radar as it was an EA published game but this looks better then expected.
I think a lot of it represents what dirt rally 3.0 was going to be, but then with a resource boost during the process and of course, the WRC license.
Dude, for every dogshit EA game I can also give you a great EA game... EA is just a money throwing publisher... so this is not an EA game, this is a Codemasters Rally game... and that changest EVERYTHING cause Codies make great rally games and the EA money just gave them boost they needed to create a masterpiece...

I have a big problem with building your car in a WRC game/sim. Custom cars are not alowed in WRC because they can't get homologated.

AI photo mode would be a great edition… to any game. It just captures interesting shots that you can choose to save or not.

@idktbh81 normaly they are release with time intervals, ok is now 3 minutes but I liked it in dirt 3 when it was possible to catch up

I am also excited about this game BUT your playing on PC will I get the same content ON PS5 because we didn't on PS4 got no graphic changes only brightness hope this one is different could you comment on that please.
Cancelled my pre order for WRC 23, because EA have rendered my wheel unusable after the Grid Legends update in September. They haven't fixed it yet.

Why oh why don't F1 have this build mode for my team... it would make so much sense, and is a better add than anything in this current game... esp, if those choices change the way the car drives and what upgrades do...

From what I’ve read and watched it’s the same as Dirt Rally 2.0. It’s stretched. There’s a video I watched on RUclips. One of the Devs even confirmed that’s it’s stretched.

i wish you could make fully custom badge and livery same way you could do in game like iracing

I think you can get the full published list on the games web page.
It's largely all the cars from Dirt Rally 2.0 with a handful extra ones on top.
The livery editor, at least as it is presented in this preview build is rather disappointing. Basically as limited as it would be in the EA/Codemasters F1 games. Nothing like the prior WRC games or Forza
Agree. Creating and driving those historic liveries was allways something a lot of ppl enjoyed. Hopefully it gets expanded
@@waynedarwin8166 It will be... what do you think those rally passes will contain? It's all gonna be cosmetics for car builder and liveries... Sure, you'll have to pay for it, but if you pre-order you get 5 seasons of Rally pass for free along the 10% discount and the early access... so that's a win win situation cause there is no way in hell I'm not buying the game anyway cause I own pretty much every big rally game...

it does have less features than wrc generations though... except the car builder which kinda looks stupid because all the parts are made up, not fun to me. i would much rather have a 3d model importer than a weird builder mode
what is the point of Regularity rally? I dont get it...
I don't really know, but I'll surely use it to "simulate" a recce run, as it seems perfect to do it.
It was the most common type of race during the early years of rally, mostly because roads weren't closed at this time.
Nowadays, regularity rallies rules still apply during some historical rallies.

Average speed mode feels dumb, rather had a coop mode..
I Would Love to know if The Damage is any good as I Have always been disappointed in How Rubbish the Damage Simulation is. We should be punished if we Go offline and hit a Rock the tyre should Shred and cause Massive Body Damage and we should have a Challenge getting the car back to Service. I so Hope the Damage simulation is better. Of Course we should be able to Choose How Bad the Damage is by having a Setting to be able to Choose How Bad the Damage is... I have always found The Damage on Rally Games is Rubbish and Disappointing.

The good thing in this game is, that you can just skip all of that. People who want the full career mode experience can go there. Otherwise go straight to Championships and create your own, simple and straight Championship. It's both in the game.

no dirt rally fan has ever wanted a car builder option. this is bs. worse physics and forza horizon style car builder. this game is made for the casual audience so every wrc fan with a gamepad can straight away think they are sebastion loeb.. and in order for it to happen, dirt rally 3 had to be cancelled. there is no world in which i am happy about this.

I kind of would really like a custom car builder. Adds personalization to the team management aspect. 😅
I'm worried because my hype levels are getting very high for this game, but that usually leads to disappointment.
