I can't believe how much Christians are defending this series when the makers of the movie claim it is ninety-five per cent unbiblical. Also, the person who plays the role of Jesus prayed the rosary over Lonnie Frisbee's grave and said he talked to him. I don't get it.
It's not "unbiblical". It's "non-biblical". Do you know the difference? Also, doesnt matter anything the actors did. Only the content of the show can be evaluated. 24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. You need to judge it righeously.
I would not recommend to watch it because it is hard to unsee and unhear what we see and hear, especially lies. I did not watch Noah either. I don't want the truth watered down or supplanted with suppositions. Where the Bible is silent, we should be silent and not let our imagination run wild with 'what if's' or ' I wonders'.
You are wrong in every possible way. First of all, not every true thing about Jesus and His ministry is written on the Bible. 25 "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen." History can and should inform our "imagination", our minds of events and circunstances of that time period. It improves our understanding of the Bible. Also, comparing this to "Noah" is absolutely unrighteous. You would know, if you bothered to follow what the Bible says: "24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." There is only righteous judgement in this case if you know and understand what you are judging. "Where the Bible is silent" ... The Bible doesn't say we should be silent where It is silent. So where did you get that from? It wasn't from the Bible.. lol Also, this expression is meant to be used in discussing theological nuances of minor details. It is not talking about making informed supositions and creations of how certain hystorical events took place.
I literally got up and walked out of Noah, and later read on to find out that it was created by an Atheist. . . The chosen is made by an evangelical, with the help of Catholics + Mormons + Jews - none of whom use the Christian Bible. I’m proud of you for standing by your faith!
Thank you for a balanced review. Statistics say less than 5% of Christians share their faith. Perhaps God has to go outside the evangelical church to draw people to him. Back in the 1970s my friend went to a production of Jesus Christ Superstar. It stirred him to want to find out more about Jesus. He became a Bible believing Christian and is still living a solid Christian today, almost 50 yrs later.
I recommend the video "The Chosen Deception" by Scott Mayer. The title sounds a bit provocative, but he gives some good reasons about why he is concerned about this show.
I don't see the show having Jesus say, "There are some things even I can't do" as an attack on His deity, because it's a true statement. Some examples... 1. God has set certain laws, and God cannot break His own laws. 2. When asked by His disciples when the end would come, Jesus couldn't tell them. He said, "Only the Father knows". 3. When Jesus was mockingly told to save Himself by coming down off the cross, He couldn't do it. It would have been against God's will. 4. Jesus cannot sin, or be unrighteous.
@@allanyoung6231 Lol. You obviously don't have a very good reading comprehension. Nobody has said anything about the physical laws that humans are subject to. I am not wrong, . You cannot dispute any of the 4 examples I listed in my original comment, because they are from the Bible.
@@alendryaldimera I already have. As God Christ can do whatever is logically possible. He simply chose not to sin, not because he couldn't which is the whole point of the Temptation by Satan in the wilderness. If he couldn't sin then their was no point in or possibility of him being the Lamb of God . No go and read the Scriptures and repent.
We shouldn't trust ourselves in being set firm in correct theology. Paul says, if you think you're standing, be careful not to fall. I'm pretty sure, such things can enter our subconscious. I used to think, that a saying from Jesus was in the Bible, because I saw it in a movie. I already knew the Bible when I watched the movie, but I didn't realize it. The saying fit the context in the movie, so I just accepted it as a fact. It wasn't something heretical, but if it had been, then a heretical saying would have been placed in my subconscious, and I could have thought, that it came from Jesus.
the chosen is a deciever! ===== it will lead yoU to the path of the *ONE WORLD RELIGEION* WHICH IS CATHOLICISM. Brother, I like your videos but this account is NOT in the book of Luke (it's in Mark and it doesn't specify the word "men"). HOWEVER, the participial phrase, "they could not" (Mark 2:4) IS MASCULINE in gender! Thank you for this review of "The Chosen."
So many people say that The Chosen brought them closer to Jesus, but it’s a *FALSE* Christ that they are exposing themselves to. The Chosen impugns the deity of Jesus Christ, which makes this series *anti-christian.*
And this. Is why the Christian right loses the culture and thus the larger socio-political war. Pretending that a dramatized piece of historical fiction can't play off the already largely-mythologized scriptures is silly. You should be grateful a series like this exists-- one which finally attempts to humanize and paint in the planet-sized gospel story gaps with a story that still hews true with the overarching New Testament story.
I know who God is and what he wants from me. Why not enjoy some poetic license. Why are true believers so scared of this? I am a child of god and have no problem dividing the truth from the fiction. This series is only a problem for the "unsecure"
Thank you for your stance on truth, brother. Our King & Savior bless you!

It's worse when you change the person of Jesus and the message of the Gospel. Both of these are seen in The Chosen.
@@heathobrien356 A red flag for me was when the producers referred to the Bible as an IP. It's public domain, meant to be read by all!

‘…put it in a basket and shake it all up…’ Or ask God to give you His judgement on it through the Hoy Spirit.
Now they are using the show "Chosen" as the basis for Bible Study in many churches. Could you please weigh in on this
Thank you

Not Biblical, Not God. there is a move in the church today to move Christians away from the Word of God as their source.
Sounds to me the show is more decieving than anything. I prefer to get the 100% truth from Gods word alone.
The Mormon roots of the show were enough for me to never watch this show. Just NOT biblical.
