Everyone got tore up by Bob's death. And the actor understood the impact that would have. When the director and writers decided to only briefly show his death, Sean Austin, the "Bob" actor, convinced them to really show a lot more gruesome for the impact.
I also think it's the stupidest. I understand why it had to happen, it was necessary for the plot, but they could have made it happen in a more intelligent way than "I must stop and stare at this woman I like even though there are monsters right behind me". It's so dumb to think that he wouldn't keep running toward her and the exit. At the very least it could have been a cliche where they grab him just as he's about to head out the door and drag him back in, then it might have been more impactful too. It's honestly the only scene I actually dislike in season 2.
@@soggybreadman4035you had the entire episode before this and the ONE thing you dislike zbout season is that one shot? That's reaching. I get it, Bob was great, still hurts he's dead.
I feel bad for honestly not caring that much about his death. From the moment they introduced him, i figured hed end up dying so i didnt bother getting attached at all. Alwxi though? That death broke my heart
He was almost recasted for this season becsuse he had initially only been cast for his looks in season one. But as it turned out he is one hell of an actor so the cast mantained consistent throught the entire show.
As someone who has been thru what billy has been thru and more it really gives you some perspective. The anger and feeling of being hollow inside and just filling the void with vices. You really get to the point where you just don’t care about anything.
The mind flayer connected to wills memories knew where they were because the phones ring is unique to that house. Back when people actually had land lines and kids hung out at each others houses you would start to memorize the phones of each house based on the ringing sound because every company that produced a phone had their own unique sound. And often the phones had choices to further customize them by either different jingles or pitching. Will heard the ring tone and knew which house they were near. And likely could tell they were inside the immediate home.
Isn’t that the ultimate excuse for a child who’s really bad that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Since he’s a child he can have a chance to change his father is already who he is
I don't know that I'd call it an excuse, because Billy would still be held responsible if a cop saw him try to run down Mike, Dustin, Will, and Lucas in his car. He isn't so young he doesn't know right from wrong, but his father's treatment of him is certainly an explanation for his worst behaviors, and changing that dynamic would be an opportunity to change Billy's path.
Mike’s face when he sees El still kills me, years later. And I am a proud owner of a Bob Deserved Better shirt (I have like 6 st shirts, it’s a problem)
Your reaction was soooo precious! You got me right in the emotions. It was the best way to revisit this episode. (Also, great job with the sound issue; I was completely focused on the reaction, didn't even notice it throughout)
I bawled at Bob. It was too much for me! Such a good guy, all he wanted was to love Joyce and give her and the boys a better life. ST does a great job of tugging on your heartstrings every damn season.
R.I.P. Bob. You were a real one. Saved the group multiple times this season. But pure hearted people don't last long in this series. Not so fun fact, apparently Bob was originally going to be taken out by a possessed Will way earlier in the season. But similar to how Steve was supposed to die in S1 but his charisma saved him, they got a few scenes and decided to let Bob live longer. But man, poor Will. You can clearly see him in there but he's pretty much not in control of his own body anymore. And that must feel so awful. Even his eyes are a different color. But Mike, Jonathan and Joyce being the closest people to him and getting him to resist control for even a few seconds is so powerful. Especially with all of their speeches. And the song too. His rainbow ship. The Mom, the brother and the best friend are his anchors back to reality. Love to see it. Mike talking to him about the first day they met and how meeting Will was the best thing he'd ever done was such a special memory that it brought Will back. So emotional.
Bob really was a super hero 😭😭😭 God I was trying to find what makes his death so sad and I think it’s specifically how brutal it is and how it happens right in front of Joyce.
It's okay about the audio! Happens to the best of us. At least there is audio, would have been really unfortunate if there was no audio at all. Keep up the awesome work! “There are no mistakes, just happy accidents.”-Bob Ross
If it makes you feel any better the duffer brothers initially wanted to have Will kill Bob lmfao but decided against it (and thank god bc wills has been through enough)
It’s so crazy watching your reactions I remember when I first binged the show through the pandemic Thai show is so emotional strap yourselfs in only gets more emotional 😢
i find it funny you would even consider the idea that they would kill Will. They have shown a fierce and fearless desire to save each other so far. and Joyce is mama bear. she would kill herself first. no not a spoiler.
I know this reaction is old but the audio isn't even bad! You'd have to be incredibly difficult to please if the audio bothered you lol keep up the good work! I love your reactions!
What's funny about this episode is they actually retconned Will's birthday. Because the beginning of season 4 is also on his birthday but no one talks about it lol so they changed his birthday to a different day and then did ADR lol
Audio isn’t all that awful. Glad the laptop mic picked it up. Although, I might kind of like seeing an overdub video sometime. Would probably be rather entertaining.
Billy's the most underrated character that got a lot of unwarranted hate from all angles. people wanna hate the "monster" but wont look at who built it
Unwarranted hate? I’d say hating a character written to be a racist violent asshole is pretty warranted. You can feel bad for him while still acknowledging he’s an awful person.
Dr. Owens has been a good person since the beginning its just that we already had a trust issue with Dr. Brenner that's why we thought initially Dr. Owens as a bad guys but he's not. Dr. Owens just want to cover up and fix what Dr. Brenner's Mistake
Is not amazing but it ain’t bad either. Happens and a learning curve. 😂 I used to tell the fellas I would edit for. Audio check audio check. 😅😅 you could do some Edit, but not much, to give it more bass. I love your channel too much to❤❤ complain
U should feel bad for Billy actually because he father is an abusive piece of sh*t. No kid or teen should have to go through that at all. So u don't have to like Billy or his behaviour but there's clearly a good reason why hes so angry and takes it out on Max. Same if I’m being honest
It was horrendous

For me Bobs death is the most hard-hitting in ST. He was just such a good guy :(

They all know Morse code because they're ham radio operators, and that used to be a requirement to get a ham license.
The audio thing is totally fine. I'm just happy to watch with you guys!
Noah Schnapps (Will) acting this episode was sooo freaking good. Huge respect for such a young child to scream and act like this. Amazing!
it was scarily good

RIP bob, phenomenal actor. Was my fav in lord of the rings. Also the audio was fine :)
"They're punching him in the face with memories and emotion" 😂
Bob should have kept running the moment he made it through that door.

It's been practically six years and I'm still bitter over Bob's death-
Yes, Nancy and Jonathan(Natalia Dyer & Charlie Heaton) are dating in real life,I believe they’ve been together since 2016 (but I can’t be sure.)

yea nancy and johnathan (natalia and charlie) have been dating for like 5 years now i think! they’re so cute together
Mistakes only happen when circumstances compound them..like two episodes instead of one, lol.
Trust me, I tried to sue them for doing that to Bob
Sounds quite ok, so all good. to be honest i would watch you guys even without sound 😅
I'm cleaning my roooom
The audio is what it is, still love y'all and your reaction :)
Natalia Dyer & Charlie Heaton have been dating since Season 1. They've been together going on seven years now.

The ppl who play Jonathan n Nancy r married and have been tg for 6 yrss
I think people who hated the last episode just have short attention spans. I get that when you have to waot weekly for eps, but it's Netflix.
You think wrong. You disagree with those people's opinion. So maybe you just want to gave them a negative trait.
Yeah the audio was fine and d*** i* I missed Bob too What Webcam are you using because I want to get one soon and I don't want to use a mic
it’s fine cody, not that bad. can’t wait until the finale reaction!
The audio is fine guys please don't stress
This was every bit as good as the finale episode in my opinion. One of my favorite episodes of the whole series!
