I can't disagree with you. I got bored of baseball around '05 and fell off. Seeing Otani in the WBC where he struck out trout to win it was my first glimpse of him. Then I went down a rabbit hole on his game and he single handedly got me interested again
Everyone talks about Ohtani's swing, but Matt Vasgersian's commentary is something else "First pitch swinging… …Oh hoh, and FIRST PITCH CRUSHING!!!" love it 😂😂😂😂
I remember watching that Shohei game live (there was nothing else on TV that day and I’m a Braves fan) before he became a huge star. I watched him pitch earlier in the game, then I remember yelling in excitement when he hit that HR. It was his 2nd of the season and he would hit way more that same season. Just the sound of his hit was like a gunshot. Before I clicked this video I KNEW this clip had to be in here.
I’m saying this was his 2nd HR of the season. Nobody would have thought he would hit 46 HR that season. I had never heard of him before his home runs started flowing in. That’s what I meant by before he was a star.
The crack of the bat is asmr for baseball fans around the world, it's sounds like a mix of fireworks and lighting together, especially the amount of power these baseball players swing with is mind blowing, when the bat and baseball connect together it's like a pop of sparks.
Man, seeing all of those clips with empty stands is so depressing. I'm glad we were able to get live sports during that time, but I hope we never have to go back to those days.
Galarraga was a beast. I grew up loving the Rockies and tried (and failed) to swing like him. Never got to see him in person, but 97 v Kevin Brown was a moon shot.
Obviously, the Ohtani homer is insane, but they also mic the Sunday night games up to amplify the bat sound. I think Sean Murphy’s might be the best, overall… I would’ve loved to hear that baby with the Sunday night mics. Shit sounded frighteningly powerful 🥵
TWO Unforgettable 450+ ft, Back to Back Game 6 World Series BLASTS, same ballpark for both the 2021 & 2022 MLB World Series. As one left the park (‘21) & this seasons was to Dead Center. Each iconic hit sealed the fate of the team which would not be hoisting the WS Trophy 🏆 once the last out was recorded in game 6. 🍻🇺🇸🤘🏼🇺🇸🍻
ESPN's coverage of all sports usually sucks. But the one thing they do better than any other network is the crack of the bat "perfect perfect" sound. It's hypnotic.
All I'm saying is, anytime Josh Hamilton hit dingers at the park, that's what it sounded like. The Ballpark in Arlington is known as The Great Hambino's playground. Rillas In The Midst
I think the crack has more to do with the broadcast microphones than the actual sound…I’m sure most hard hit balls sound like these, unless hit on the sweet spot (which is quieter).
Dont get me wrong, these pops are seriously loud like holy crap they are loud. But has anyone noticed that most of the early clips are from games back during 2020 when a certain "social distancing" problem was happening? The stadiums are empty most of the time. Now the cracks with lots of people? Damn! Those are loud as hell. And honestly, Shohei is a different breed of baseball player.
Anyone want merch??? First 5 people to order will get a surprise in their order💪

I’m going to buy a shirt today
@@jrodburner let’s goooo
I would but I don't have money
You should make a navy blue shirt with your channel logo on it. Hate to be rude but the grey shirt in the link is kinda plain. Just a suggestion.
@@joshuawoodard1902 love the idea. Definitely will do that
The monotone "I don't think we are gonna see that baseball again" as soon as it left the bat almost made me spit my drink out
Shit killed me 😭😭😭😭
2:31 😂😂
make the difficult (yet necessary) decision to wrap up your stay here on earth
1:00 the sound of that hit literally made me a baseball fan again after 20+ years

@@BlandBandithappy that you’re back into it! Cheers to the 2024 season
Hearing that swing made me stand up , mouth hanging
*neuron activation*
😯Breathtaking😯

"First pitch swinging…
…Oh hoh, and FIRST PITCH CRUSHING!!!"
love it 😂😂😂😂
Yeah! The commentary is really on point!
Vasgersian is top notch commentator
Genuinely, baseball has my favorite commentators. I watch Baseball, basketball, football, but baseball has absolute top tier commentating.

Ohtani is a special guy
If he stays on the pace he’s on now, he’ll be in the Hall of Fame for sure.
@@joshuawoodard1902 definitely
Shohei has always been a star
I’m saying this was his 2nd HR of the season. Nobody would have thought he would hit 46 HR that season.

The Ohtani one at 1:00 is so unreal I want to accuse you of juicing it up. What a swing.
When you get the barrel of the bat at 97mph fastball … 😂😂😂😂
He is something special
Cody's bomb in new York is one of my favorites sounds like a gunshot
That was a shot
If you like that then listen to Shohei Ohtani against the White Sox
Fits pretty well for new york lmao. “Gunshot”
@@bigdjohnny1646 shut up you buggin
@@bigdjohnny1646 lol u got a point
The empty stadiums of the 2020 season really being the crack out damn
That ohtani swing 🔥
So beautiful
Dale culo
2:33 I don’t think we’re ever gonna see that baseball again 😂😂😂 I’m crying
this was the best call in the whole video by far
I miss miggy
That Ohtani jack was one of the most beautiful things of ever seen and heard 🥲 from all angles
p
3 sounds every American loves to hear:
1.M1 garand ping
2. Opening a cold can
3. And this 1:01
Ohtani’s hit just hits different.
Every time too
When i saw the title of the video I knew that one had to be in it
The brewers announcers call on that altuve bomb on the first pitch of the game was great
'yikes what a start' 🤣🤣
*very calmly*
“I don’t think we’re ever gonna see that baseball again.”
3:58 ENERGY TRANSFER. Exactly.
That shohei one was the best
The crack of the bat is asmr for baseball fans around the world, it's sounds like a mix of fireworks and lighting together, especially the amount of power these baseball players swing with is mind blowing, when the bat and baseball connect together it's like a pop of sparks.
That's such a good descri5
Ohtani’s HR was literal dynamite. No other way to describe it than “sexy” 🤤
That hit on 1:13 he put every amount of physical & kinetic energy into that swing. Crazy
2:35 the nonchalant “I don’t ever think we’re gonna see that baseball again” was unreal 😂😂
1:00 goat
That Shohei blast actually made me burst out laughing it was so loud.
Man, seeing all of those clips with empty stands is so depressing. I'm glad we were able to get live sports during that time, but I hope we never have to go back to those days.
The loudest crack I’ve ever personally heard was will Clark at Atlanta in 1987- second was the big cat in 1998 at Atlanta
Galarraga was a beast. I grew up loving the Rockies and tried (and failed) to swing like him. Never got to see him in person, but 97 v Kevin Brown was a moon shot.

Cody Bellinger hit that first ball so hard it made MY back hurt
i want ohtani’s to be the sound when i receive a notification 🔥
That Shohei One 😳
Give me your number
2:33 I dont think were ever gonna see that baseball again
2:09 is STILL the best bat crack i’ve ever heard, not even a competition
Nah … Ohtani is still number 1.
The sound is so full …
Cody Bellinger.
2:33 “I don’t think we’re ever gonna see that baseball again.” 😆😆😆 #classic
It’s gonna take ah drink😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Stanton’s home run against Glasgow in San Diego is one of the loudest I’ve ever heard.
The one good thing about the COVID years was how loud the hits sounded
Especially at Minute Maid Park.
That Shohei swing sound should be in mlb the show
1:00 perfect
“SANTA MARIA!!!!!” Always kills me😂😂😂😂
That one by Shohei Ohtani was absolutely drilled!
ESPN's on field mics are awesome
Ohtani's hits sound like bombs every time. Was fun to watch. Great video
Baseball bat bro videos brought me here, addicted to that "POP" 🤤
ESPN soundbite is just different
Cracks off the bat in the MLB are as sweet as a Matt Vasgersian call
Didn’t ESPN put additional microphones near home plate which is why the Matt Vasgersian calls all have the loudest most clear crack sound?
And first pitch crushing is such a fantastic call! Matt v is the best in the business
Most bat cracks are super loud but ESPN is notorious for juicing the mice to make them way louder than they’re supposed to be
"I don't think we're gonna see that baseball again".
Dude sounded like that was an actual inconvenience and personal attack against him.
My favorite was definitely shohei's against the white Sox
0:34 thats what Jose Ramirez fist sounded like when it landed on his chin and dropped his ass hahahaha
Man that Shohei launch is something else.
Ohtani beginning his march to the MVP that year. So nice
Sean Murphy s sounded so perfect
Why are the bat cracks so satisfying?
Ohtani OMG THE HARDEST HIT OF BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!🤯🤯
Idk what mics ESPN uses but they result in some LOUD bat cracks.
when the crack is loud because barely anyone is at the game:
You want a loud hit, look up Eric Davis’s HR in Tiger Stadium with the Reds, and this was after battling cancer. Dude was a monster.
Great Vid!! No Bellinger off of Martin in the 2020 NLCS? That crack was insane!!!!
1:15 the fake audience noise is super out of place and creepy sounding
The sound that used to come off McGwire’s bat was crazy…
1:00
The Covid era empty stadium ones are gonna be tough to replicate
My Dad always spoke about the sound of “The crack of the Bat” and how sweet the sound
that shohei one was the best, that pitcher ate it
ive watched that Ohtani one easily 20 times
Ohtani tho 🔥🔥🔥
1:01 was so loud

DAMN SHOHEI WE GET IT YOU’RE GOOD THAT BASEBALL HAD A FAMILY!
That Othani swing & crack of that bat ....call little league, college, the minors ...call everyone so they can witness greatness 🔥
I was there for the Ohtani hit at 1:00
Multiple people around me audibly, “Holy shit!”
Everytime I see Baez highlights it just reminds me that he could get back into his cubs mentality, he could still be good
That Manny Ramirez training 😂
ESPN's coverage of all sports usually sucks. But the one thing they do better than any other network is the crack of the bat "perfect perfect" sound. It's hypnotic.
It was only the fourth inning yet Tim Anderson threw the bat as if he just hit a walk-off Homer😂
The Ohtani one had the loudest crack
The best I ever heard in person was Big Mac back in Oakland.
I watched this video to fall asleep
My roommate and I were sitting at the All You Can Eat Porch in the same where he hit that ball, just wrong game lol
2:10 is always my favorite
Opening game of I want to say 2004, Black Sox player hit a homerun you could hear in the parking lot.
All I'm saying is, anytime Josh Hamilton hit dingers at the park, that's what it sounded like. The Ballpark in Arlington is known as The Great Hambino's playground.
Rillas In The Midst

espn is so good for these kinds of videos
I think the crack has more to do with the broadcast microphones than the actual sound…I’m sure most hard hit balls sound like these, unless hit on the sweet spot (which is quieter).
lets be honest, most the ones from games during covid only sound like that cause the park is empty.
Shohei's hit sounds lower toned. Like the material inside the ball turned to powder
1:25 absolutely bombs it out of the park
That sound! You just know its gone!
Judge just hits different
Such a satisfying sound
The most beautiful sound 😍
ESPN bat cracks are the best

idk why but im more of a fan of the college metal bat sound. Maybe i just think it sounds more satisfying or nostalgic
Ya era hora de que pusiera un vídeo de teoscar Hernández, tienes que poner más vídeos de teoscar Hernández
Great video. Can you make one of lefties hitting tanks

Empty stadiums with crowd noise. Never forget.
Nobody talking about that judge one
Chris Taylor hits doubles that sound like these homers
