This week, the wheel demands trickery - food masquerading as other food - specifically, in the form of movie snacks. Can Sohla trick us into believing that meatballs are whoppers, parsnips are Twizzlers, and popcorn is popcorn...ice cream? Let's find out!

Hearing Sohla say "supporting my show" makes me feel SO damn happy for her I can't even explain. She deserves it so much
Sohla is fucking amazing, I don't understand how it's taken this long for her to get her own show(s). And I'm continuously amazed by how technically skilled and creative she is.

Love how Sohla's like "This time I'm just gonna have fun and do whatever the hell I want" as if that isn't what she does every single time and isn't the reason we all love the show so much
I am super happy for Sohla because she is now able to have fun and enjoy what she do.. I am so grateful for BCU 💗💗
I dont get why everyone falls all over themselves over her. Chill. She aint that great.

Roasting Babish's style on his own channel is next-level big energy that I'm not the least bit surprised to get from Sohla.
huh h h
Love how you can see Andrew tripping up when they're both doing a thing because he's SO used to it just being him. Then Sohla tripping up doing the sync'd things because she's not used to being the main host. But every show gets better! They are growing & I love being here for it!
same i love that they're getting more comfortable together it's a great vibe
The only mistake she made trying to be Andrew was calling it “salt” and not “kosher salt”
My thoughts exactly. She also used the pre ground stuff... Babish always uses freshly ground pepper and kosher salt😂😂😂
Was it kosher salt she was using? Kosher salt is an actual type of salt with larger flakes. I don't think it's widely available outside the US so people may substitute it with similar salts
She also didnt say "bowl of a stand mixer" she said mixing bowl
she also referred to the tiny whisk as just "a whisk"
Some generous pinches of kosher salt and twists of freshly ground black pepper
Is it sad that it took me a full 20 minutes to realize she was talking about the candy Whopper and not a Burger King Whopper. Wow.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who was super confused 😂😂
ya. it really is.
same ! that’s why i’d didn’t get why the meatball idea would be an illusion 😭
Same here brother
Are whoppers are just a southern thing because I understood right away
Sohla: “this would go well with some Gin”
Andrew: *BOTANIST GIN INTENSIFIES*
I lost it when sohla did the babish thing 😭
There needs to be a day where there's a Binging episode where "Andrew took the day off, so Sohla's doing today's episode" and Sohla does the narration.
ikr? But she forgot about the 'kOsHeR SaLt'
I had to pause and laugh
Where?
When she said “roll meatball meat into meatball balls,” I died. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sohla is the human embodiment of saying "Everything is fine" while your house is on fire and your dog ran away.
Unrelated: your dog running away when your house is on fire is a good thing. Your house on fire is a very bad thing, but your house on fire with your dog in it is worse. Nasty shock for the firefighters, too.
@@adde9506 Actually what you said is so true!..And I totally, 100% agree with you!....Yeah, IT is UNRELATED!...

This series shows how much of a BEAST Sohla is.
Makes me sad thinking how much time this talent was wasted and joy that Babish is giving her this much needed space to flex.
She's talented, but annoying. I much like Babish's personality more.
@@Keep1n1tFr0st1e annoying is subjective to different people

Lolno
I would definitely call the candied parsnips a huge success. They looked just like twizzlers.
“Alright here’s our popcorn milk”
The most cursed sentence
Brace yourselves, the next episode is going to be Sohla and Christina Tosi making popcorn milk to start selling it at Milk Bar.
Actually, that would be a great episode.
Beat syrup
Na, the worst one was "impregnate the fries with ketchup"
So, is pop corn a mammal?
@@JuanWayTrips Tosi already makes and sells a popcorn cake that features popcorn milk soak and popcorn pudding made out of popcorn milk.
For someone that "didn't know what she was doing", she was amazingly confident and calm. And all of her ideas sounded *very* solid for the things she was going for. All in all a super fun episode, and not a bad first one for me, I'd think. Definitely the kind of kitchen science I needed today!
It's easy to be confident and calm when there's not stakes. In this format, failing is just as beneficial as succeeding. It makes me feel worse for Claire doing gourmet makes; her level of stress didn't just indicate the unreal timescale, but also that failing wasn't an option. I'm glad they're both on to better things.
Those beet-parsnip things looked tasty.
@@adde9506 I see it as a good reminder for us not to be so hard on ourselves! I love Sohla's attitude, she always admits her anxieties and says it's okay to fail. Which it is! It's an internet cooking show 🤣 But it's okay to fail at stuff in general too, and she gives off that comforting vibe of a friend who would say that to you
@@ambriaashley3383 I agree! When she said she will just have fun with it, I was happy for her. It's just a fun, friendly vibe.

Sohla is Azula confirmed
Sohla: idk what the hell I'm doing
Also Sohla: I'm going to make candied parsnips, popcorn flavored ice cream and these meatballs with gelann glaze all from scratch
The parsnips were perfect. The ice cream was SO CLOSE but she needed to shape it into popcorn shaped balls, maybe topped with some yellow powdered sugar. The whoppers... like why did she make them so not round? Then she's like "alright gravy for meatballs" and she made a white gravy?! Why?! The gel should've been very firm as well, whoppers aren't soft. She had a good idea but the execution was like... why?
@@johntomblin why do you care so much it's a RUclips reply
@@johntomblin I mean, it's not like she put a whole lot of prep into that plan.
@@johntomblin agreed, looove the execution of the parsnips (except the taping lol), but I think she may have used too much of her time on them and had to cut corners elsewhere. She really could have used food coloring or that stuff you can buy to add brown color to gravies and sauces (I forget the name but it's common). Not sure how she could shape the ice cream into popcorn shaped balls, but I wouldn't mind seeing it. She also could have put the whoppers in a whopper box, lol. I think she was just out of it today.
@@veghead05 That’s why this series is called “Stump Sohla”, lol. She won’t always win, that would be boring, and it’s great to see how her beautiful mind works, even when she doesn’t fully succeed.

Not that any one cares about my opinion but I don't care for her much. She really hasn't ever done anything 'spectacular' cooking wise. Shes kind of boring to watch. I never really cared for her on BA and I don't think she deserved to be paid as much as she thought she should've on that show.
Should have called the "whoppers" cake pops for the reversal of the "it's actually cake" illusion.
Oooooo! I thought the same just based off appearance... but the irony makes it somuch better!
I only got as far as "they look like cake pops".
Which movie theatre u go to? Fancy pants😉
Oh is that what a whopper is?
Ooo I was so confused what a whopper is - cause their version looks like a cake pop but when I think of whopper, I think of Burger King LOL
As a nom american I was a little confused about the "whopper" as it did not resemble a burger at all. A quick google search explained why
Even as an American I was a little confused. I had completely forgotten the whopper candy.
For childhood nostalgia reasons, the glass chicken being incoroporated into every Stump Sohla episode makes me so happy. Every Easter, we used to serve honey scrambled eggs for breakfast, in these same colored glass chicken vessels. They took up quite a bit of real estate in our kitchen cabinets (for a family of 7, we each had our own), even though, we only used them once a year!

I don’t think Sohla has been 100% stumped. Those red vine look alikes were pretty awesome. And the popcorn ice cream probably tasted good so partial points there. The whoppers would have been great turned into eyeballs for the scary candy ep. A little food coloring would do the trick.
She also could have possibly made a dippin dots type ice cream for the top of the popcorn containers???
