Been going to plaza mall since 1978, seen lots of stores come and go, the past 10 years I only visit like once a year..during Halloween or Christmas time..its been growing and isn’t going anywhere…❤
Been shopping at La Plaza Mall since 1984, my y.o.b. It has changed and expanded a lot. Man I coukd still remember the 80s and 90s days. It used to have a killer two-story arcade and movie theater. Hope you enjoyed it. It is a lot bigger now too, like you mentioned. Food court has changed a lot too. I personally miss the old food court set up. Anyways, if you want check out Mcallen La Plaza Mall 1980s, there's a video floating around thatvshows you thebold school mall. Take care brother.
The new layout looks so bland and boring to me now. The narrow entry ways like at 5:10 look so ugly. Definitely miss the 90's and 00's look WAY better. And I agree.. the food court used to be better.
It's nice there early in the day and during the week. at nights and weekends, it's jam packed and hard to walk in. It's mostly cuz a lot of the customers come down from Mexico.
Moving to the rgv? I personally love this town! We have everything we need, it's generally safe, nice people, bilingual people, we're close to San Antonio, almost no homeless people, and we rarely get SEVERE bad weather BUT We have bad drivers, small roads, not that much to do, gets REALLY hot during summer, a lot of edgars, and sometimes the town smells like shit (we're also hispanic dominated, idk if that's a pro or a con to you)
Im thinking bout heading down there myself I’m black 2 I’m curious on you’re experience down there fr like was it racist was the females peepin etc etc
I lived here all my life I’m 56 now, the place is very Hispanic dominated, also lots of philipinos reside here, it’s low cost living, you don’t see hardly any homeless or tents, I’ve yet to see any racism, if you come here I’m sure you’ll be comfortable and welcomed.. we don’t have lots of fun stuff to do..but it’s a great place to live 😊

definitely not racist a really great place to live actually I would encourage it!
