Kristin Chenowith is hands down the most generous performer ever! I’ve seen many clips of her with “non-professionals” & she always gives them encouragement, support & all the grace she possesses! Kudos Kristin! ❤️
This was more of a set-up than they're letting on. I mean this is in front of the First Lady. And yes, even cooler that composer of the musical Schwartz was accompanying. Btw, probably wasn't much of a deal a year ago, but notice Harvey Weinstein sitting right next to Michelle Obama.
Of all the students Kristen has sung with, this girl is by far the only one that KNOW how to actually sing this song, with emotion, not strength. So amazing 💙💙💙
i legit was thinking to myself “if she asked me this, i wouldn’t want to say Idina because technically that is the truth full answer but i would wanna go sing with her” 😂
You also notice that Kristin looks at Rachel almost all the way through. And only looks away when she knows that Rachel is confident of hitting the notes.
yes. that was a brilliant acting choice for a young performer. To use what she was feeling in the moment and the actual circumstances to make it real for her.
I sat here and cried my stinkin eyes out. What a sap I am! I can't help it because this is such a special moment for this little girl. A major star standing next to her and singing. Chenoweth is so kind. God bless her heart.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate how extremely talented this girl is - the whole song is great but just listen to 4:06 for the point she totally owns the performance 💖💖💖
Great musicians are just on a whole different level from the rest of us. When two or more them get together and perform you see the amazing connections as artists that they share when they both speak the same language of music... magical music.
I have to place a comment. She's really good, and I hope broadway notices her. Good luck to your journey, and please pursue singing. The world needs to hear your voice.
@@timdavis4099 It was a shocker at the end there. But forgetting him, the rest was wonderful. And there are evil people everywhere, surrounding lots of great people.
This is TALENT, and wouw how wonderful Kristin is blending with her so beautiful. Music making. Rachel IS every word she speaks/sings. When handled with care she will be on Broadway, I'm sure about that. Hard working and luck.
Wow! This version was a amazing!!! My favorite song from this musical, Rachel did it justice. I almost cried, it was so emotional. She is talented, she should try out for the Wicked movie in 2019. Outstanding!!!! Both of them!!!
Please forgive me for what I am about to say. I love this duet. This is by far the best for me. Miss Kristin always delivers a perfect song, I'm sure many would agree with me. Rachel Levy is a greenhorn? She is so authentic as a good witch. Love her voice, the diction, the innocence and sweetness she projects. No shrill belting or theatrics. Great, sweet performance. Oh, and the pianist, he looks genuinely thrilled watching the two. Thank you for sharing.
Sandy Corder Matlock I’m a grown man and I got choked up watching this video. Maybe a little tear (or two). I don’t even know why. Just don’t tell my toxic masculine buddies.
This song has meant a lot to me and has reminded me of a friend that's meant the world to me. The lyrics ring true for me. Kristin and Rachel were great.
This is so beautiful!! Kristen Chenoweth is so warm and just exudes nurturing love. And what a darling young talent I hope she gets to Broadway.! You can tell she adores Kristen- such a sweet duet!
As an actor that's done theater for twenty years, I know the assertion that they've never sung together before can only be part of the story. Number one, this is the White house. This girl wasn't chosen randomly from the audience. She was definitely a very talented plant!!! and while they may technically have never sung this together before, I would bet a giant pile of money that the producers had them rehearsing with others singers doing other woman's part.
Oh goodness, a little tear came out of my eye! I'd be insanely jealous (Kristin AND Stephen on piano?!) but I'm not because what a gorgeous voice Rachel has! Amazing. :)
I think this one has become my favorite. A lot of the others seem to powerhouse through, but I like how Rachel dialed back in parts to give it nuance. Just a really great performance.
I've been obsessed with Wicked since I saw the show on broadway in 2018!!! Defying gravity and for good are my favorite songs, I also know all the words to those songs!!
You are so generous to your fans. I know when I see this ... you sang this song a million times. You made her musical life. Good for you. I'd love to see you do a piece with Dolly. For real.
I don't think it's rehearsed. You have to remember this girl goes to an Arts school so she's probably sang all of these songs a million times and Christen knows these kids are from an Arts school so the odds are pretty good she's gonna at the very least sing on key. When I was in college I auditioned for a play. There were two students who blew everyone away when they auditioned because they grew up doing theater. They read their parts together and it was like we were watching two people in love having a conversation not two actors auditioning for roles in a play. It was amazing. They never read together before. Sometimes there are people that are just that good and Rachel Levy is one of them.
Interesting article about Rachel at www.broadwayworld.com/article/BWW-Exclusive-Interview-Meet-Kristin-Chenoweths-White-House-Duet-Partner-Rachel-Levy-20151201 -- Rachel "became involved in the world of theater at the young age of seven when an Off-Broadway theater troupe called Sandcastle Kids performed the show "The People Garden" at her elementary school. Since that time, she has been a member of MPAC's performing troupe in Morristown, NJ where she has been cast in such impressive roles as Eponine in LES MISERABLES. In addition to composing her own music and playing piano and guitar, she attended Berklee School of Music last summer where she performed as a cast member in IF/THEN."

She do lovely ❤️❤️
I have watched this 25 times and in tears every time. Very well done.
How is she not screaming I would be dying because chenowith touched me and the fact that Stephen Schwartz is accompanying.
Just seeing her face would make scream 😱 of excitement 😀
Stephen Schwartz a genius in the room💚. I'd be running to get his autograph or something.
Of all the students Kristen has sung with, this girl is by far the only one that KNOW how to actually sing this song, with emotion, not strength. So amazing 💙💙💙
She was magical!
Beautiful singer!
It's been a long time since I've watched this, and.......it gets me every time. 😊
When Kristin asked that kid who he liked he should have said Idina just to mess with her. That would have been amazing!
Hihi
It was a set up.
😂
i legit was thinking to myself “if she asked me this, i wouldn’t want to say Idina because technically that is the truth full answer but i would wanna go sing with her” 😂
He also said Matthew Morrison to mess with her because she has worked with him too on Glee
Really, the way Rachel looks at her, it feels like she "MEANS" what she's singing! Wow!
You also notice that Kristin looks at Rachel almost all the way through. And only looks away when she knows that Rachel is confident of hitting the notes.
yes. that was a brilliant acting choice for a young performer. To use what she was feeling in the moment and the actual circumstances to make it real for her.
I've watched several videos of Kristin Chenoweth sing this with members of the audience and it makes me cry every time!!!
So have I! It truly makes me cry!!!
I sat here and cried my stinkin eyes out. What a sap I am! I can't help it because this is such a special moment for this little girl. A major star standing next to her and singing. Chenoweth is so kind. God bless her heart.
Rachel is sooo amazing. Her voice reminds me of Anna Kendrick's voice.
Sheymonti Hoque frrrr
Yes i cant tell the diffrence
I know!!!
Rachel is so lucky
Better than Anna. Anna gets a little squeeky sometimes with her high notes.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate how extremely talented this girl is - the whole song is great but just listen to 4:06 for the point she totally owns the performance 💖💖💖
If I'm standing in front of Kristen Chenoweth, she automatically becomes my favorite Broadway star. I just love this song. The lyrics are so powerful.
This was tear-jerking in a beautiful heartfelt way....and then Harvey Weinstein stood up to applaud for both these women, and I instantly felt sick.
Me too
He’s like looking at a pile
of💩stinking up the room
LITERALLY WHAT THE FUUCK UGHH
Oh, it warms my heart to see our beautiful First Lady in this video.
Rehearsed or not, two beautiful voices, great performance.
Of course it’s rehearsed.
This was the first time that I can understand the words!!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!
Great musicians are just on a whole different level from the rest of us. When two or more them get together and perform you see the amazing connections as artists that they share when they both speak the same language of music... magical music.
Absolutely gave me chills! The young lady from New Jersey was absolutely amazing!! A future Broadway star for sure!
Star struck but still sang like a bird. Great duet!
Rachel Levy is so mesmerizing.
I jusy stumbled across this beautiful singer with the voice of a angel and a lovely way about herself. Oklahoma you should be proud of this woman x
Same.... ❤
I have to place a comment. She's really good, and I hope broadway notices her. Good luck to your journey, and please pursue singing. The world needs to hear your voice.
Like WOW! She's not only singing with Kristin but also in front of the Obama's!?!?
With Stephen Shwartz accompanying!!
Ikr

All of a sudden, I have a HUGE crush on this girl.
Talent is everywhere. Sometimes where you do not expect it. SOmetimes beauty and voice combine and a star can be born

Tears! What a way to seize the moment!!! Great job! This wasn't luck, this was being prepared!! Congratulations!
Sandy Corder Matlock I’m a grown man and I got choked up watching this video. Maybe a little tear (or two). I don’t even know why. Just don’t tell my toxic masculine buddies.
That would be a dream come true...singing with Kristin Chenoweth! They sounded so beautiful together!
Wow! Look at Harvey Weinstien next to the the First Lady...!! Guess his life was changed for good, too! 😏 it just took a few more years! 😂😂
Absolutely outstanding, I think this is the best performance of this song I've ever heard. I can't stop listening!
Look up Sarah Horn
This has to be rehearsed. SO GOOD!
This song has meant a lot to me and has reminded me of a friend that's meant the world to me. The lyrics ring true for me. Kristin and Rachel were great.

Is there anyone having any doubts about this? I assumed from the very first second that everything was accurately and thoroughly rehearsed.
This is the best song ever. It just is. And a rare example of texts about friendship.
Rachel, a GOD given voice, love listening to you, wouldn't surprise me if you end up some Disney movie show, wow what a voice.
her voice gives me goosebumps...that's a good thing :P
The funny thing is, although the other observer said he liked "Matthew Morrison," as his favorite Broadway star, Rachel Levy sang with him also.
I got full body goosebumps when they sang the duet
watched this about 45 times, she is amazing
the younger lady is so calm... I would've been dying from nervousness....
She is adorable. Totally nailed it! Rachel 2020.
Wonderful collaboration, excellent harmony. I'll listen to this over and over. So excellent.
WOW, Rachel is incredibly talented and so composed under such an amazing situation!
There’s not a single possibility she’s just plucked that girl out of the audience.
Yea, we all know that. It's not just happenstance.
But who cares? I still love that KC does this❤️
I'm sure they ask for people who know that song and have them sing for someone to decide if they'll pick them
Kirstin is absolutely mesmerizing 😍😍❤️
Wow! Wow! Wow! absolutely fabulous spine tingling duet. One of my favourite Wicked songs.
Truly was blown away when i saw this on TV, can not stop watching!!!....Lucky to get to share the stage with Kristin, Love her!
That harmony gave me goosebumpies
Oh goodness, a little tear came out of my eye! I'd be insanely jealous (Kristin AND Stephen on piano?!) but I'm not because what a gorgeous voice Rachel has! Amazing. :)
Thank you for posting this!!!
What a pleasure! What a talented, delightful young lady!
Who IS Rachel Levy, my goodness is she good. They sound like they've been performing this together for years. Amazing.
I love hearing Kristin sing this song. This is a brilliant duet.
I think this one has become my favorite. A lot of the others seem to powerhouse through, but I like how Rachel dialed back in parts to give it nuance. Just a really great performance.
Fantastic, such tremendous talent, Rachel. Excellent job!
Can I please see Rachel on Broadway? She’s so talented she brings tears to my eyes!
awesome job Rachel !!!
That was beautiful! What a voice she has!
Happy to have been there to watch Rachel sing with Kristin.
Bravo, Rachel. Stephen loved you
Wow
Goosebumps here...I salute you both!
I so love this song. Thank you for sharing
Fantastic Job! You are sure to have a very successful career on Broadway :)
I've been obsessed with Wicked since I saw the show on broadway in 2018!!! Defying gravity and for good are my favorite songs, I also know all the words to those songs!!
If I was Rachel in this video I would literally cry my eyes out!! THIS FREAKING KRISTIN CHENOWETH YOUR SINGING WITH!!💗💗
WOW- what passion and talent!-G-D bless you!!!
Stunning!
Beautiful in every way 😍 ❤
You are so generous to your fans. I know when I see this ... you sang this song a million times. You made her musical life. Good for you. I'd love to see you do a piece with Dolly. For real.
that girl is GREAT
but I think they met before...at rehearsal...this is, i'm quite sure, not improvised
Whether or not it was rehearsed, it was still great. This young girl is talented.
I agree, it's a risk taking someone up on stage who might be very average. I agree it's no doubt already arranged
I don't think it's rehearsed. My cousin is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Judy Bergman you should be very proud
Yes she is
Judy Bergman your cousin is Kristen Chenowith?
I think her cousin is Rachel Levy.
I do too! Either way an awesome cousin
that was the most important moment in her life. Good for you Kristy. You are like the broadway Dolly Parton. Thank you for being awesome and not a b*
Really gotta hand it to my boy Schwartz. That playing, that smile, that talent, and his perfectly imperfect voice - he must be a joy.
This is amazing. Amazing!!!
Kristen Chenowith is amazing but the young lady with her ... damn! Get it girl! Your amazing
Everyone is talking about the girl but kristin also nailed it
Beautiful
Rachel, what destiny you were created for!
Mygod! Rachel Levy is 😍😍😍
