- In this video, we visit the Norfolk Southern Atlanta South and Griffin Districts. Plenty of rail action promises great entertainment. After watching the morning northbound parade in Stockbridge, GA on the Atlanta South District with four trains (NS 231, NS 282, NS 174, NS 23N) and lots of SD70ACe units, the local GZ04 with GP38-3 and SD40-2 power is caught at North Conley. After an excursion to Constitution (not Covington as mentioned in the video), where massive manifest NS 187 with a UP ET44AH leader shows up, we return to North Conley to see another manifest, NS 368, with eclectic power and also a UP leader go by. Eventually, we switch to the Griffin District, where intermodal NS 221 is caught in Hampton, GA. Enjoy!

It isn't just the trains you video, it's the way you capture the feeling of being there. multiple views and all. Thank you!
Great you like this style. I totally agree; different views offer a better look at the surroundings and the trains, too. It's just more interesting. You're welcome!
Awesome Railfanning!
Thank you very much!
Nice catches of the four trains in Stockbridge, Ga. Thats my old hometown. I spent many Sundays with my stepdad watching trains back in the late 90's to mid 2000's there, near the hwy 138 bridge
Ha, nice. It must have been even more interesting back then.
Great video. I missed watching them. Looking forward to the next one.
Very cool! Glad you keep enjoying them :)

@@mbmars01 Kathy Oldham I'm sure that's your name and Mars simulation
Great video! You are very informative when it comes to letting your viewers what train is coming, how many engines it has etc… Thanks for sharing! 😉👍🏻🎥🚂💯
Thanks, good you like it. I also think that some minimal additional information helps understanding what's going on.
@@mbmars01 you’re welcome. You definitely help us figure out what is what.
this is what i call a horn...lol happy new year mbmars01 all the best for you in 2023! mfg andy
Happy new year!

Very cool, thanks so much!

Thanks!
Great video! Thumb up!
Thanks!
north conley and constitution are two of my favorite south district NS spots 👍
Cool! I think it was my first at North Conley.
I just relocated to GA, and in California we mainly had UP and BNSF! CSX and NS are rather new to me! Great catches!
... and I love watching UP and BNSF in the west :)
Great job!
Thanks!
This has been a long awaited experience.
Yes, I know :)
Excellent video. Glad to see you back.
Thanks!
First of all I'd like to wish you and your family a very happy new year. Secondly it's good to see your video again. We all missed your great uploads. I like the locations, especially the first and last. We can clearly see the trains coming and going everywhere. The NS ponies are pretty tidy, but I'm a UP fan, so I enjoy the Armour Yellow engines more. The summer colors, trees and flowers are very nice too. Awesome video sir, thanks for the entertainment.
Happy New Year to you as well! Great you found this video interesting. It's been a while, but I'm happy I found the time to edit this "old" stuff (it already feels like 2022 is long gone lol).
Thank you you forgot to wish me happy birthday
Nice Catch
Thanks!
wow...kereta yang keren mister
Good you like it.
This video is awesome! There's this NS Line called the NS Knoxville West End District if you havent heard of it, And there's some cool power you could see on most NS Trains there, Such as UP, BNSF, CSX, And there's also an interlocking/diamond at knoxville located near the old city where its next to a CSX Yard. A good place to probably railfan there is around the farragut and knoxville area, since there is some good spots there that you could find. They also have a yard there called John sevier yard, And another yard called the city yard. John sevier yard is at rutledge pike, And you could find the city yard near the Gay Street bridge at Old city, Knoxville, TN. Love your videos as always!
Well, I know, and I'd love to railfan TN again, but that's more than a day trip from where I live. Great you like the video!
Cool
Thanks!
Curious as to why the intermodal train had to wait on the other intermodal before leaving Stockbridge? Maybe because it was empty containers and the others were loaded? 4600 was sure clean, was it a new unit or a rebuild? Glad to see you back, looking forward to seeing your videos in 2023.
I really don't know why they played that waiting game. 4600 looked great. It's a rebuilt AC44.
Hot diggity! This is going to be a great half hour! Been a while since I've seen one of your videos. I haven't even started it yet and I know it's going to be fun!
Well, it's been a while since I posted one... :)
@@mbmars01 Well worth the wait oh, and my confidence in your videography is well placed. It was fun to watch and soothing. Hope you have a great 2023.
Nice, I really appreciate it. It's a lot of work to make a good video, but feedback like yours helps keeping it up.
@@mbmars01 You've earned the respect of your fans with every video. Your numbers prove it. Keep up the great work.
Many thanks. I'll try my very best :)
train symbols changed a couple of months ago, 231 - 291, 282 - 26C, 23N - 287
Right, but note, though, that the footage shown in the video was recorded in July 2022.
Nice video. Where have you been ?
Thanks! Well, I wasn't gone, just busy with a lot of stuff.
Glad I checked...yt dropped my subscription. Guten tag!
Wow, how is this possible. Good you're back :)
@@mbmars01 No telling...but I checked every few weeks, I'm not very bright, but persistent!
Haha, come on! The fine-tuned humor in your comments often makes me laugh. Only bright people are capable of expressing things the way you do.
@@mbmars01 Danke
Bitte :)
If they only knew how much the horn takes away from hearing the engine.
At 14:20 thats not Covington,Ga I believe that is CP Constitution out by where the ATL Federal pen used to be.
You're right, my bad. I don't know how this could happen lol. I updated the description under the video. Thanks for pointing this out.
@@mbmars01 No problem great video,I wish we still had this many trains on the Abbeville sub.
Oh my... If we could turn back time on the Abbeville. How much fun it still was to railfan here only a few years ago.
No ditch lights flashing
Great as always. Nice change of pace getting the griffin district. Does that line still actually go through griffin or is it a name carry over?
Goes through Griffin. Only daily trains on it are 321, 10A and 218
@@RailsOfTheSouthProductions thanks it's been ages since I've been down that way. Live in Carrollton and only local traffic to newnan now that the 2 power plants are gas powered from coal.
Thanks!
@@RailsOfTheSouthProductions Don’t forget 219 As well As he’s a Counterpart of 218
Don't get about the local G05, G04, & G09
Nice video. I have have videoed in Stockbridge and other locations nearby for my RUclips channel.
Cool. Stockbridge is a good place for railfanning.
No money no credit and no cash.
Northfork southern what happened you crashed 2weeks ago
I honestly hate the griffin district and South district in My opinion for Reasons 👇
1. There’s barely any rail traffic
2. It’s not busy
3. The tracks are used less frequently
Well, it looks like the trains cluster on the south end. It has indeed been somewhat slow after the morning parade of northbounds. The Griffin is not a busy line, for sure.
@@mbmars01 The Main Reason I record anything that runs on the griffin
Completely understand it.
