I own the 2018 Africa twin adventure sport and I absolutely love her ..at 52 yrs old and a motorcycle lover I have owned close to 50 different machines in my life .. dirt bikes street bikes quads and three wheelers.. hands down my twin will be with me forever I really love her just a great machine.. miles of smiles every time! Enjoy yours as much as I enjoyed mine and congratulations!
Good decision Richie. I can hear you grinning inside your lid. I test rode one a little while back and absolutely loved it... Saving my pennies to get one.
Think there’s a trend starting, first TMF decided to keep the Goldwing after falling in love with it now you’ve done the same with the Africa Twin..! Guessing Teapot will be keeping the Sinnis 125...!🤣
Congratulations Mr Vida. I have a similar bike and I am very happy with it. Unfortunately, due to successive lockdowns in my country, the only rides I have been able to make lately are to shop at the supermarket ... In this situation, watching your videos has been a blessing, allowing me to be mentally elsewhere. Thank you for that. Have fun and keep safe.
Congratulations Mr V ... I'm really pleased for you .. I've got a CRF 1000 DCT and I love mine ... she has taken me to the Black sea and back twice and she will take me to the Lofoten Islands next year ..she is a keeper ..
you know, i have been riding for 45 yrs, in that time i always looked down my nose at Honda, being a dyed in the wool triumph norton man in the old days, then a mate of mine sold me a VFR800F1 1999 ed f' me on a french road i had 250km/hr out of that and still accelerating! Only sold it because it was hard to ride for me cos of nerve damage and low bars, i totally understand buying the africa twin, nice stable you have there! Oh now i rid anR1150R beemer and a first ed' hinckly tiger 900.
From the get go I thought you wouldn’t get rid of it , I could tell in your voice that you just loved it like you’re VFR. Love the videos keep up the great entertainment content.
I was thinking, why don’t you ask Honda U.K. for a deal, you must have influenced so many Honda bike sales in your time! Real happy for you Rich 😎🤩😍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Cracking bike, good to hear the WBW will be going ahead, not for me, old bones don’t really manage camping now but sure you’ll all have a great time, assuming Boris doesn’t let us down again of course.
I seem to remember commenting last year that you should have one of these and use the VFR for sunny days, especially after having the VFR brought back to almost as new condition. Enjoy.
Caught me out there, thought it was going back. However if a bike hits the spot you only live once and if you can squeeze it in why not, enjoy, I have three in my garage, some may overlap a bit but......they scratch my biking itch in different ways.BMW K1600GTle, GS 1200 and Kawasaki Z900RS for me. Tough choice now for you for the tours...VFR or Africa twin......enjoy.
So happy for you, I couldn’t believe it when we thought you weren’t keeping it. I’m looking forward to seeing more vids on the AT but don’t forget that beautiful VFR800.
We were feeling sorry for you until...the black screen came on , then we were shouting yayyyy on the couch. 😊 congratulations on your purchase, we are waiting for Dave Dayve's AT 😊 Thank you ,looking forward for more of your fab vids😊😊
Darn ! I should see this great v-log before I watched the comments here and on IG , I missed the surprise 🤪 All the best and happy travels with the Big Lad 🏍💨💨💨 And , as you know ; we have great gravel roads also in Scandinavia 😉
Well that was always on the cards! 😂. The way you sang it's praises, I for one didn't think you'd do anything but try and buy it off Honda. Chuffed for you, look after each other 👍
I remember reading a comment a while back someone saying if that was your own bike you wouldn’t be taking it off-road and using it how it was intended... I remember thinking then clearly he doesn’t watch many of your vids 😂 and this video proves you would and will do 👍 absolutely chuffed for you mate! Fantastic bike and suits you down to ground 👍
Spoiler alert.. Congratulations Richy! I bought my ATAS after watching your reviews and your passion for the bike. I reckon Honda world wide would have made many sales from the loan of this bike to you. I love mine too, even with the sore arse it gives me... Just bought an airhawk to see if that helps.. If not I'll just have to harden up!
Sometimes a new born animal needs a little help . I find most important if they need assistance it’s to break the bag over the nose so they can get their first breath
Now the big lads gone, and you enjoyed the little cub 90- with Bruce and Mr Fish, what about trying to get hold of the new Honda Forza 350 scooter - really rate your reviews
Good for you, they are brilliant bikes. Really enjoying mine on my morning commute. When you pair the Cardo & your phone to the bike what order do you do it in.
Just have phone plugged into the USB port. Cardo only paired to phone. Not bike. Works way better IMO. Having said that, I just did the firmware update on the bike from 2.4 to 3.1, so that might make a big difference 👍
Great decision Richy! Looks like you've got the standard suspension DCT model? Having tried both, do you have a preference, electronic suspension or standard?
I had a feeling you were going to do that. Dont blame you though because that is one beautiful bike. Much prefer the Africa twin to the GS. 👍 Next stop Picos then?
TMF buys the gold wing direct too and now you too Richy. Just goes to show how good a bike Honda is making nowadays. I have a 2017 triumph trophy SE but looking at the gold wing next. Triumph in Canada is tough to service I have to ride 130 miles one way to drop it off for a week then come back and get it. So in total just over 500 miles of driving to get the 32,000 km valve service completed, and $1600 CDN dollars on top of it for the service 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. As much as I love Triumph it will most likely be my last one, since they don’t have anything for 2 up riding with the wife that’s comfortable like a gold wing.
You sneaky git, when I read the other day it had gone back I was cursing Honda up and down 🤣🤣 lol. Deep down I was hoping you’d done a deal for it but anyway, Health to enjoy many many many miles on it now that it is officially yours and I look forward to seeing many videos of it 🏍💨💨💨
Although it wasn’t this exact bike your trip to the Highlands last Winter really was one of the best series you produced , I think it was the spontaneity of it, totally opposite to most bikers shying away from cold weather, defiantly an inspiring set of videos! 😀
Congratulations Rich, thought you wouldn't be able to let the Big lad go 😁👍👌 hope you got Honda to put new tyres on after the hooligan who had it before wore them out🤣👍
Right I get it now like the dozy git I am ,I didn't watch it to the end I must have gone to brew up or something, but I did say to my domestic serving woman that if he let's that bike go and doesn't buy it I will be amazed. I'm just as bad I've got three now but only one backside 😄 well done
Keeping mine for ever. Best bike I have ridden in 35 yrs
ha ha i had a feeling that was coming. when you fall in love with them. you can't let them go. brilliant

U, the crew & the Big Lad need to find your way stateside again... he deserves to see the Blue Ridge and the Desert West !!
I concur, my friend!
Congratulations. I imagine Honda would think it’s been incredible PR for them and the Africa Twin. The Scotland trip was epic btw. 👍
Congratulations 👍

Wishing you n' the Big Lad, many safe and happy miles together. Atb Richie. 👍
I knew that decision was coming. Great choice Richy. Look forward to seeing you on it at some point 👍🏍
Happy for you....👍
Hope you are going to put an aftermarket exhaust 😁
Its sad that every garage in UK has to have a security bar installed, to keep imported thi rd world de mons from st ealing motorcycles
Thumbs up as soon as I heard you say you was keeping it!!
Mega! 👍
Congrats on the new bike 🏍️
Pleased fer ya . Good luck with the "big lad"

Real happy for you Rich 😎🤩😍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you John 👍
Great news Richy, amazing piece of kit.
be well and ride safe out there
Awesome news Richy, I wasn’t expecting it so a complete surprise ending. So envious.

I seem to remember commenting last year that you should have one of these and use the VFR for sunny days, especially after having the VFR brought back to almost as new condition. Enjoy.
I remember that comment or similar and I asked the same question also.
There was no way it was going back, more chance of the Pope getting married
Love it, perfect bike for Derbyshire winters.

I'd no real interest in Adv bikes, but then got hit with 1 to sit my CBT on, OK so it was a Sinnis Terrain, but it made me smile! 🤣
Nice one fella
Great video
Nice one, you and TMF will no doubt be exchanging notes😉
...nah, we did that with Honda! (lots of £hem!!)
It must be tough being RUclipsrs, but someone's got to do it....
Right now UK Honda is plotting what models they can do longterm loans to LCR and TP1 to make two more sales.
Congrats - Lovely bike!
😁awesome stuff mate. Looking forward to getting mine in a few months, cant wait. 👍🏻
Nice one , enjoy ☺️👍🎸
Nice one Richie 👍🏍🇦🇺
Good man. Delighted for you. You’ve made me want one so Honda should be delighted. 👍🌞
Same with me
Just enquired about a test ride yesterday...😁
LOL nice one Richy!
Another great video Ritchie.. Didn't surprise me, although following Andy buying direct from Honda UK is becoming a trend 😂..
Exactly! Cheers Steven!
I knew you wouldn’t let the ‘Big Lad’ go 😂 I bet the VFR is a little jealous 😉
There’s no jealousy in there. The VFR is constantly telling stories to the “youngster” of all the special places she’s been. 😆
@@RichyVida 😂

I know for certain that there has been at least 30 sales. Amazing!
Nice of Honda to lend you the bike whilst bearing the initial steep curve of depreciation! 😄
Bet they’ve sold a few though on account of your videos!!
Over 30 to date
@@RichyVida Really? How do you know that? 😃
Good on yer👍🏻😉
From one AT owner to another Welcome 👌 and I think we need a BIG LAD t shirt 🤣
Haha! 🙌🙌
Well done Richy , good choice :)
So pleased
You had me fooled there, great news and a lovely bike, now you and Fish have one, better than a GS, sorry Brucie 😂
....now you're being silly Paul....
Proper riders have the AT. 😆
Its all about the Twins.....
All the VFR crew will have to get ATs Now 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍

Exactly what was wrong 👍
I know I’ve foaled over a thousand horses and a few cows . Cows can b more tricky
Well done fella, pleased for you to finally own the ‘Big Lad’ now go and beat Bruce’s tractor up the Picos.... stay safe.
Ace mate, chuffed for you.
Can we expect this to be the steed for USA. 2 ? Would suit Dalton hwy a bit mire than the VFR !
Who knows! 👍
Enjoyed that Richy!! 👌 she's a brilliant addition to the ever growing fleet 😁
Cheers Chops! Im very chuffed! 😍

I was typing a comment about you doing the same as TMF did with his Goldwing and then you dropped the surprise. Good for you Richy.
Note to self, never read comments until after ive watched the vid 🤦♂️😉
He has to copy! ...and then he has the audacity to call the AT a "big boy"! Pah!!
Was about to say ..do a tmf!.. so glad honda UK are clever at this stuff 😀
Nothing to do with them being clever at it. The bikes speak for themselves! 👍
