- It's been almost a full year since Laura has been Pillion, so I talked her into coming for breakfast on the Africa Twin. Not so sure she was as relaxed and comfortable as she made out, but it's a start.

Hello MissendenFlyer from the US. I watched a review you did on the Yamaha FJR 1300. Your review was excellent! I'm seriously looking at one of those as well as the Honda VFR 1200F. I presently ride an older Honda Interceptor. I'm average height and concerned that the seat is so wide I can't flat foot it. Was at a BMW dealer on Tuesday who had a 2015 with 1900 miles on it. It's brand new basically. May be a bit tall for me.
I don't know, that you rode ok, just one wheelie. Hate riding with the thoughts of being responsible for my passengers safety. Have enough to worry for my own. Lol

My wife goes on every ride we go out on, she loves it. we even go touring, we were off to Germany in May postponed to Sept and further postponed till May 21 due the CRONA Virus.
That bird tho 😅😅😅🐦🐦 he was on a suicidal mission there, and willing 2 take you with him 😅😅😅😅
Great to see Mrs. V out and would love to see more pillion views. we’re real oldies having had bikes since FS1E days, I’m a Mrs on the back of hubby’s Ducati MS and absolutely love love love it, and really missing big tour this year, looking forward to hopefully seeing your Spanish tour later, fingers and toes crossed that you get to go.

Hi,with the wild bad weekend cancelled we decided to do the wild Atlantic way after watching a repeat of your video let’s hope we get good weather like when you did the trip. The bird encounter reaction by Laura made me wonder how my wife would have reacted to my near miss encounter with a big fat crow earlier this week on my Goldwing, think its decision to change flight paths last second nearly missed me at 75 mph, wouldn't have been good. Nice to see her coming along for a ride. No better way to truly experience nature than on the bike
I've had the opposite effect with my other half. She was so relaxed she nodded off. On more than one occasion. Riding along an I get head butted as she fell asleep. Lol . scared the crap out of me.

It was lovely to see you both riding, I bet because Laura doesn't ride very often it will take her a bit more time to get the feel of the motorbike. I was a rider learning to ride my new 125. It never got to it's first maintenance I had a bad crash learning to get used to the buddy gears. I can't ride no more but I still love the bikes passing my house through our village in Lincolnshire. I digress, Laura go out more so it's nice for you every time. Cheers I will still be watching your rides, they are lovely to see you all. Xx

Great to see your other half enjoying it too. This week I'll be the owner of an Africa Twin AS ES and can't wait. It's primarily for 2 up so didn't want the big horses of say a ktm as I'd have to constantly watch myself haha. (My hooligan is already a Super Duke r)

She’s not comfortable on camera (yet) but she did say she didn’t like it anywhere nr as much as she does on the VFR. Not as comfy, either.

Mine will not ride no matter bike, than she seen a syder xt in white and said she would consider that bike. Thing is in Ontario Canada you need a separate ticket to ride a 3 wheeler and another higher price. Dam things are $30000 and they are Canadian built.

Your vfr,is it high mileage?
Looking at fj1200 with 95k on clock,should I avoid? We are talking less than grand.
Depends if it's a pig? My VFR has been looked after, and has always had whatever it needs, and is no approaching the same mileage as that. Mine is bang on. Do a check, see if the bike has been looked after. If it has, there is absolutely no reason why this couldn't give you years of happiness!

My wife use to come with me a lot but these days does not bother wife was the same always tense but my son comes with me he loves every minute of it .

That’s a good result from Honda letting you have the bike until October bet you are dead chuffed. Your good lady will become more relaxed the more you take her out. Does this mean the VFR is having a holiday for a while now. Oh and can you trim your beard I don’t know wether I’m watching Teapot, Likeable Rider or AMC 😂

Nice to be out with SWMBO . We can speak it each other via intercom . It makes a big difference being able to chat .Hopefully that will make a big difference and help her to chill .

Mrs B has done a few long trips in the past but for one reason or another she kinda lost interest, but this year she's been out quite a few times (virus permitting) and we're booked to go to the Picos in 4 weeks, travelling up from Murcia. She enjoyed the video seeing Mrs V on the back, hope she learns to relax and gets out again.

Rich, how did Laura find the bike for legroom? My better half is quite leggy (lucky me!), she struggles with legroom on the back of my VFR1200F and I am thinking its a good excuse to add the AT to my stable ;o)
I was shocked in 2018 when I arranged a bike test ride with the Honda dealer in Farnham with the specific reason to take my wife as pillion, then when we arrived he told me they weren’t insured for pillion. Will never go back. Never had stupidity like that with BMW dealers. It should be illegal to sell insurance that doesn’t cover all of the seats in or on a vehicle.

It takes guts to be a pilly! Most riders I know wouldn’t! I was one for a while til I got my own bike four years ago. Now we tour together. Mrs V might even get the bug one day !!😉 Really forward to coming up to Derbyshire this weekend and riding some some cracking roads! I did email you for recommendations, but I’ve now managed to sort out some nice routes and stops. May even stop by the station cafe on Sunday as it’s just down the road from our digs. 👍🏻
I haven't rode a bike for over 6 weeks (my bike's engine went pop) I test rode a bike this morning (choosing my next bike) and I felt tense riding that so your Wife did well, Well done Mrs RV 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Hi Rich. Another great vid. Off topic a bit, but I notice your mobile on the ram mount. A number of people I know have had their mob phone camera fail. Suspect due to the vibration through the bike. Have you or your crew experienced this? Cheers.
Not with the UltimateAddons case, no. It’s the other stem mounts that have no vibration layer to soak up all the vibes that seem to cause the issues.
It is definitely great to see/watch your Wife riding with You. Hope she will Adventure with you more often,If & when it is possible.

I tried to arrange a test ride on the 2020 Sport ES DCT, but no Central Scotland dealer has a demonstrator (they only get one model to demo) Asked Honda HQ and they basically said tough!
