14:18 'our martial is good, our learning will be good. we have paid attention in church.' can easily see the martial prowess in this character. much more difficult to imagine him being taught all that well though. 867 CE was a time when many high nobles (and even kings or emperors) had difficulty writing more than scribbling down their signature on a document. the 6th to 10th century were really dark ages in education. it got a little better from the 11th century onwards.
that was mostly in western Europe. the eastern roman empire required literate administrators to function while Charlemagne's Empire could get by with just using the church.
Yeah, I was thinking that given we are one-province backwater, surrounded by unfriendly heathens, we doubled down on martial and religion to strengthen our resolve and identity.
@@immersioneer There definetly is! Usually people start roleplay series but when roleplaying dosent give the best stat boost the roleplaying aspect flies out the window. And some people avoid stress like the plaque so the characthers feel very boring and like they arent actual people. I just want to see a good story.
@EpicBurritto The game mechanics fight you a lot when you rp. It makes it difficult to maintain unless you stay very focused. Sometimes, as well I find I get excited and play fast. I want to see were it's going and rp get worse the more hour of game play. Still it the best way to play imo.
@@EpicBurritto Completely agree! I will admit I sometimes fall prey to the same temptations when playing single player, but this is why I love doing these series on YT - you guys will keep me honest!
@@Huntanor Yes, but that's why it's important to get into the right mindset. Roleplay just means "living the life" of the character, not "pursuing a specific outcome". You do what you can and leave the rest to fate :)
Thank you and welcome! Indeed it is, and it only gets better with each DLC. I think the game is in a good spot right now, so welcome aboard and I hope you enjoy!
Thanks! Yeah, I wasn’t sure about it, but it feels great! Soundtrack is amazing. I also haven’t played the Middle Eastern Expansion or the Legends of the Dead, so lots of new content to explore!
This is a cool game set up. Very fun, especially since real rps are getting a bit rare.
Thanks a lot! Yeah, there is a lot happening already in the first 30 years!
Great Video, Glad to some good RP with CK3
Thanks! Appreciate the support!

That’s good to know! Yeah, I guess we probably did get a tutor of some sort or maybe visited Constantinople for some crash course into governorship :)
Been waiting for this! Roleplay on ck3 is hard to come by!
Thanks! Hope there is an audience for this!

Hooray! CK3 is my favorite strategy game to RP. It's so immersive and tells great stories. I'll have to get caught up so I can follow along!

I don't think I would have figured out how to play Vic 3 and CK3 without these RPs and guides!
Thanks mate, appreciate it! I can’t wait for 1.8 Victoria 3 - will definitely feature it much more on the channel then…
They have added a lot in the new DLC! It would interesting to see how relevant the count of Kerch will be in the messy politics of the mighty emperor!

Suboptimal decisions in a strategy Game? Heresy!
Looking forward to the campaign, this game looks like a blast.
Thanks! Yeah, it’s perfect for making those immersive / narrative / emotional decisions and not have to “lose” the game. I’m loving it so far!
Great video
Thanks a lot!
Awesome, CK3 content! Are you using any mods?
No, no mods. Thanks for asking - I will add this in the video description!
