OHhhh....I'm so sorry to hear that Candace! Yea, my husband lost his dad two years ago and now his mom has cancer. The doctors are saying that there is nothing they can do for her. It's just heartbreaking! My husband keeps telling me.....spend as much time with your parents as you can, so while I can do that....I'm going to do exactly what you said and treasure our times together! My mom & I go everywhere together! She is so much fun....I can't even imagine a life without her! Anyway, thank you for sharing, Candace! I can completely understand how thrifting would not be as much fun after losing your partner in crime! Hi Mariluz! I know, can you believe how cheap the Goodwills were?!?!? $1.99, $2.99....where can you find anything for that! I usually shop the Salvation Army, and although they have really nice things, the prices are nothing like these and their prices seem to be getting higher and higher. I can’t believe my eyes! I go through Imlay City & Lapeer to see my sister. And my dad lived in Davison before he passed. The Goodwill prices were phenomenal. SA...I stopped in there every time I visited my dad. I agree that their prices are way off, but I usually found something when I shop. Now I’m going to have to stop in those Goodwills on my next venture out. It’s been quite a while since I was in those stores. You sure hit the jackpot!

Hi Karen! I'm soooo sorry! I actually had taped some smaller furniture that we came by, but they never made it into the video. I was surprised, because the thrift store items were so cheap, but the furniture was more on the expensive side. Example: a dining room table was $79-, a high back chair $69-, fire pit table $150. I could have bought those items cheaper on Facebook Marketplace, so for that reason...I just kind of skipped over the small furniture footage, because it wasn't anything wow wow. You know? since ours doesnt do the half off day anymore I dont buy nearly as many clothes with them and instead just spend a little extra to get exactly what I want elsewhere instead of "close enough" at goodwill.

You two remind me of my mom and I before the virus. We would go "goodwill hopping" on the 1st Saturday of the month! Half off day. Which they no longer do. At least in my area. But, we would have such a great time when my work schedule allowed us to go. We too would be trying to figure out how to get all our treasures in the car. Inevitably, one of us would always find some piece of furniture we just couldnt leave behind at the 1st stop! Lol
LOL...that's funny! I know...sometime we wonder what we're we thinking when we look at how much stuff we have and then the size of the car! You have to a very creative packer! LOL
I remember I bought a desk at a flea market on time and we only had my Mom's car there! We just looked at it like, "How in the heck are we going to get this home???" We did it, though....luckily a guy in the car behind us seen us struggling and suggested taking the legs off! He had a wrench and we were able to get the rusty nuts and bolt out and take the legs off! After we got that in the car...we just looked at each other like we are absolutely CRAZY! What a great haul. Yes, definitely in Michigan your prices at Goodwill are definitely cheaper than in Florida. I also agree Salvation Army is more expensive, it’s ridiculous how they get away with their prices.

Also I think you probably already know this but cup and saucers are very good to put candles in and around the bottom on the saucer whatever season it is Valentine or Christmas you could put a little flowers or branches or Christmas bells or something then then sell it that away would be very nice and sometimes you can collect your candles at the thrift store to meltdown
Trips like these are why I absolutely love my stow n go seating!! Love that you and your mom love thrifting together! Only thing I found I didn't much care for was the leaving of your cart in the parking lot. The money you saved might be how much someone else may have to spend to fix a dent in their car.

I guess because there were no cars around, she didn't see any harm in it, but I totally get it! And, just so you know...we did bring back all the carts from all the previous stores that we had went, but I guess we got a little lazy on this last one! I'm with mom!! Keep going! I just can't.. this looks like me after a Goodwill trip.. then i get home and think.. what am I going to do with all this stuff? I have all the ideas when I'm buying it.. then get overwhelmed with the projects once I get everything home.

With items are at such a GREAT price, you pick them up and you totally can vision what you want to do with them, but then when you get home....there you are....looking at all the projects you need to do! I think for me....what keeps me motivated is just knowing that I have shows that will be coming up and I need things to sell! I don't want to have to do all of this the night before, although...I have and you're soooo exhausted the next day, because you stayed up all night burning the midnight oil! LOL Also, having the RUclips channel and doing the Trash to Treasures episodes motivates me to finish at least three of the projects a week! Anyway, You keep going, Cyndie! Hi Darlene! I normally go to the Salvation Army, because they are closer to my house and the prices are nothing like at the Goodwill! They are double, if not triple depending on the item! It was my Mom that told me about how cheap the Goodwills were! The prices were amazing, weren't they! I could hardly believe it!!!! BIG DIFFERENCE! What a score! You guys need a large SUV or even better, a van. I hauled so many big items in my Kia it wasn't even funny. I bought a van in Dec 2019 and bam stuck at home for a year! Largest thing Ive hauled in my van is my weekly grocery pick up lol. Can't wait to get back to thrifting again. I can't wait to see some of your finds transformed! Loved shopping with you and your mom I found so many beautiful things and didn't spend a dime lol

Hi Jo! I know, right?!?! Yea, I plan on getting an SUV, because you can only move so much in a car and I like to buy big things! LOL I always have to ask my son if I can use his truck when I find furniture pieces. A SUV would have been perfect for this haul! I can just picture you hauling things in a Kia! Hi this is Miss Dottie I just have to break in and and give you some suggestions on that one thing that you picked up that you said you could put a dowel rod in you could take one in the other a rolling pin out an old rolling pin and put it in and have a rolling pin to hang the towel on and then glue it so it won't roll would be super cool and paint it white and sanded off awesome put some flowers in the top of it for your kitchen

Yea, they don't always tell you about these reward programs....you end up finding out when someone ahead of you in line mentions it and you're like, "What?" I've been coming here two years and no one has ever told me about this!" So, we thought it would be good to add it in the video. Eventually, I would like to do a 101 Thrifting Video that has ALL the tips and tricks in it! Anyway, I would definitely ask your Goodwill the next time you go! It varies by state and region. I live in Kentucky. We dont have a rewards program. At least not in my region. My mom and I always went across state line to Indiana where they do have rewards programs. Which can also vary by region. You would think a goodwill is a goodwill and they all follow the same model. But, they don't. For us, it was well worth traveling the hour to next state to find not only better prices in general. But, the added benefits of the rewards program.
lmao do more like this. Me and my two daughters do the same thing, and are just as bad of influences on each other egging each other on with ideas on how to use items we find. I LOVE goodwill and a couple of thrift shops, but I dont bother with salvation army for the same reason, their pricing is atrocious at least on the little things I want, not sure about furniture. What great prices! Our local Goodwill is highly overpriced and shelves are minimally stocked. It seems that clothing covers the majority of the store. Today was "blue tag" day with 50% off, I saw very few items with a blue tag and I was there just a few minutes after the store opened, not a happy shopper. How are other Goodwill stores in comparison? Thanks for sharing your shopping adventure, you two make a great team!!

LOL That's terrible that you're not finding really anything at your local Goodwill and then to have the prices high...that takes all the fun out of it! I would try another Goodwill or Salvation Army in the town over. Make a day out of it! As far as, the other Goodwills....they were all priced about the same in that area where my Mom lives. I don't have any Goodwills by my house...they are all Salvation Armys and their prices are double if not triple depending on the item. The Salvation Armys by my house are packed though with AWESOME stuff! Anyway, I would try another town right next to you! You never know...you might hit the jackpot there! Also, the garage sales will be coming up....my Mom finds soooo much stuff at those and the prices are like at the Goodwills....$1- here....$2- there....even .50! You can't beat that!
