Asians are heading forward, we too need to strengthen our navy
Gandhi is rolling over in his grave
Is impressive enough to know CV. Charles de Gaulle can replace a US Carrier in case of an emergency during a military operation
It's a lot smaller than a Nimitz
So was de Gaulle lol
Will Estus on the contrary I think De Gaulle had quite an imposing physique.
@@anjum2008 he was a taller gentlemen yes but if his stature was imposing it contrasted greatly with his military prowess
@@willestus9120 What are you talking about? De Gaulle was 6'5... And which military blunder exactly has he been responsible to necessitate your comment about his "military prowess"? lol
@@Itachi951000 To put all your troops in a PARTIALLY fortified position in an effort to stop a heavily mechanized historically experienced military is like wearing half a condom. I think even Andre Maginot would have had second thoughts given the then current state of the German armed forces. The Maginot line was an evolution of the trench which was made obsolete by the tank. The idea that fortifications are where armies go to die is historically well founded with few acceptions.
Attacking forces fighting terrorists ISIS. Hats off to America and France
Nice to know we have powerful allies.
They use the US Navy commands on the carrier deck. Just in case they have to land on another ship. Makes sense to keep it universal.
Considering their history i agree
I was wondering if that's what they meant by being able to take the place of a US carrier. So American or British planes can land on French carriers and vice versa?
rafael bird of the sky love form USA
Ahmed Ugas you must be from 3rd world country maybe from pakistan or bangladesh not from usa
@@potidaat 😂
Weird Friend well it’s the same thing....
Spain and Italy have aircraft carriers
+Wagdy KOTB BAHBAH STOVL is still capable of delivering deathly weapons, it's all about what weapons it delivers, not how it takes off. Especially the new F35 B stealth jet that's gonna be in operational service on board 2 larger British carriers in 3 years time.
Not the equivalent thereof. The only countries that possess aircraft doors worthy of the name are: Russia (1), France (1), Brazil (1, former French aircraft carrier), China 1 and the United States (10 ).
Alexis Hershel China dosent count
the italian and spanish aircraft carriers are more worthy and chinas and maybe even russias
Russia ? You mean the Kouznetzof ? It's a pile of crap.
eugspit Russias carrier is one of the shitiest in service but thos su planes it carries are no joke.
A Gripen engine can be replaced in one hour under field conditions.
i love french from philippines!
French navy now very big power ın world.
murat öztutan with 4 aircraft carrier
How many 4?? You know of 3 I don't then?
c8136132 yes they have 4 carriers
No they don't. The De Gaulle is France's only carrier.
FallenPhoenix86 the Degaulle class
1:40 Do they use the same colors as the US Navy?
Yes
What is the hull number of the nuclear carrier Charles de Gualle? Can any one tell me?
R91
I love how she pronounces battle fleet as 'bottle fleet'.
Lol Typical misheard English phonetics
I wouldn't want to mess with that bottle fleet though
Your turn to speak french now 😂
Can you please learn the difference between "Ship" and "Boat"? Thanks!
And as for the "only carrier in europe" angle ... Nice to know that Italy is no longer a part of Europe :p
only nuclear carrier in europe
Why is their uniform reflective 🤔
They are the same as those of firefighters, they allow to be seen in the smoke of a fire ....
mrnormalnormal seems like you have never seen a navy work uniform of any country before....
Pin point accuracy!! But dropped a bomb away from a target of a thousand kilometer and landed in Syria !!+or- centimeter is a pinpoint accuracy.
Nothing better than Rafale!
India France best friend
Holy hell, I think France is ready for the 8th coalition.
We have two now but haven’t got the ships to protect them🤥🎩🏴☠️
Wow French cuisine everyday!
Operations on flight deck looks more relaxed than US Carriers
In general it looked a lot more comfortable then a US carrier. The french live in style even on a war ship.
Naping is not in the French culture. Go school yourself...
Obviously. The French can drink wine and beer on board. Alcohol on an American carrier? Lol they don't even know what it is.
@@paname514 actually no more than 1 beer per meal, and no more than 1 cup of wine per meel
🇫🇷 👍
Thumbs up for presenting a documentary on the Charles de Gaulle. It is nice to learn about both the similarities as well as the differences between the French and U.S. carriers and is particularly nice to see cooperation between the navies. Unfortunately, that cooperation has no doubt slipped with Trump in office.
us brits are getting a carrier without planes.
Bulletproofcammy calm your tits
Bulletproofcammy. Except that the F-35 is a flying brick and still has a lot of problems. It is no better than the Harrier which is proven, costs much less and was already available.
You obviously haven't seen any recent displays of the F35 if you think it's a "brick" completely the opposite in fact. We're finally getting to see just what this aircraft is capable of and we'll have 2 carriers full of them.
your comment didn't age well
+the dab Wrong... First deliveries are already made and you will have full complement when the ship is fully operational. Also..F35 is revolutionary.. It is transforming air combat...listen to the negative, liberal media if you wish..,but you won't get the real scoop. Your pilots, and everyone else's, love the airplane and know what it can do. It is the future...stop the bitching...it's ironic.
Le Top Gun
World globe sail please.. Love CDG R91
Strongly. action. on myanmar. Military. Please. ! For save myanmar people. Our people are hapeless.
Please...a "boat" it is not!
They're probably just using the literal translation.
Actually we say Navire for Ship, and bateau for Boat, and i've never heard the word Bateau during the documentary
1/3 of France's men went to heaven with their Jeanne D'Arc, 1/3 of them followed their emperor fight to hell, 1/3 of them died in Verdun's trenches, and the last man, facing the ruins, clutched his badge tightly, his name was Charles de Gaulle,Since then, there has been no man in France
whats nex a german?
crew of 2000 eleven decks tiny compared to US carriers sixteen decks crew of cver of 5000 plus. I was on one in the 1980s USS Eisenhower CVN 69
American carriers are too big and way too expensive to run.
Scott Long British getting new aircraft carriers most advanced and second biggest in the world and only need 650 crew the bigger the crew you need the worst it takes up manpower
Scott Long I was on the carl vinson cvn-70 and roosevelt cvn-71 desert storm back when the navy still had tomcats.
EMALS GOOD enough for INDIAN NEW IAC INS VISHAAL, and land based EMALS IN ANDAMAN IS MAKING IN INDIA,BUT DIEGO GARCIA Needs Judgement
