Three guys watching the game, not one noticing the instructions about how to block, questioning how to not take damage because they all failed to read, that's such typical SGS behavior.
Your partner teleporting to you whenever you look away is 100% inspired by that one Sherlock Holmes game where they didn't give Watson a walk cycle, so he only moved when you weren't looking. You can't convince me otherwise.
It would be several hours long if they gonna get anything but the most basic endings. They would need to have the text printed or open on the other monitor. Actually i'd love it in ANY way, just do it boys!
I'd like to think that Demon Blood is actually a teaser for Airdorf's next game, in an alternate universe where Father Garcia failed to help John Ward and is now blasting his way to hell to rescue him. 40:46 What a callback from Alex. Played the remake of that game way back in 2009. One of the first roguelike games I played. Also one of the weirdest.
That was extremely compelling and definitely hits the nostalgia vibes that the dev in the game was going for. I would love to see a full SGS on this when the game comes out! Loved the ep, guys, great work!
yeah i'd believe it was made by a small team over multiple years maybe. it's really funny when people who didn't live in the 90s/early 2000s make stuff set in those periods without doing any research even though the research would be fairly easy.
Fun fact, it was in the comics that Star Trek crossed over with Doctor Who, which lead to the cyberman in the show itself taking influence from the Borg.
I can confirm: "Weez the juice" is only in Encino Man. Bio-Dome has "Free Mahi-Mahi" and the newscast where they replay the killing of a clown like it's the JFK assassination.
I don't remember Bio-Dome that well, but "weezin' the juice" was in the Encino Man trailer. Thanks to working at Blockbuster back in the day, I've seen the Encino Man trailer a few hundred times (it was on one of the in-store demo tapes).
As soon as they started talking about the frog on the desk, my first thought was I really wanted Dr Stoker to just look directly at the screen and say "In this house we do not use the 'F' word...this is a toooaaaddd"
For Tron Legacy, Olivia Wilde's character takes the place of Jeff Bridges in the real world. There's some mention of the identity disks and how it works, but yeah. I'll see myself out now.
- Overthinking after talking over crucial information - Accurate but extremely farfetched theory 1 minute in the game - Inuendo at akward moments - Bad catchphrase after a hard fight - Odd appreciation of monster design - Sudden frustration with controls - Bullying Davis with the least creepy element of the game We should make a SGS bingo with all the staples
Hey Jessi + Squad i just wanted to let you know that i love y'all im having my first baby in November its been a hard pregnancy and my comfortable "show" is actually SGS playing Resident Evil Biohazard- i listen to it so much that my baby starts kicking when certain parts of the video plays 😂 #obessed but anyways you guys have brought me so much joy since those first videos of PT and Fatal Frame - i hope you can read this and know youre a great comfort to me and ill be raising your next gen of fans
Scary Game Squad upload day is always a good day. Also, I hope they check out Still Wakes the Deep! It's short but worth playing. Oh, and it would be cool for them to play Simulacra 2, since their playthrough of the first game was so much fun.
It being mentioned in the video made me think of it but can we talk about how much of a classic Layers of Fear is to this channel? I randomly sing "You're gooonnna diiiieee baby" at least once a week still 😂
@rainjay2516 is it really? It may be me misremembering but the tune of the old vinyl player that plays in Layers of Fear is was what I was referring to. They would sing tunes from it and just replace the words, in different series they would always bring that tune back up. If it was from that originally then I may have gotten it mixed up. I'll take a look at it and see, maybe it'll jog my memory
@rainjay2516 I just snuck a peek at it and I don't think I've ever seen it but I could've years ago without realizing it. I'll probably watch it later on. Whether it is from that or not, thanks for bringing it up. It's something that seems new for me to see
Ah yes. We start off by referencing Doom(1993), Wolfenstein3D(1992), Peter Stormare shoving Buscemi in a wood chipper in Fargo(1996), and Powerslave(1984). Today is my birthday and im slowly approaching my 30s, yet all of these things came out before i was born. Truely the grandparents of the internet
i think they were looking for Vivarium, basically the scientific word for a "biodome", its an area which can be enclosed and used to study wildlife/flora in a controlled enclosed environment
I'm still waiting for the day SGS plays Corpse Party, Parasite Eve and Rule of Rose. RoR, I know, is a long throw to ever happen cause of its price and issues, but still. It'd be interesting to see their reactions. I'm truly interested in Corpse Party and Parasite Eve though.
Peter Stormare omg. His Until Dawn character was incredible. Also I wanna play the shit outta Demon Blood. Looks like the old Wolfenstein and Doom games!
my parents have a double doored bathroom with a full shower. But the doors are at very opposite ends. one goes into a bedroom with another door that opens up near where the second bathroom door opens. never thought anything about it because the only time the bedroom door gets used is at night time.
Davis was right. They pretty much reverse-digitized Quorra to be in the real world in Tron Legacy. It's the same thing that happens to Sam and Kevin. It isn't as if in the movie they're just digitally scanned and put in the game; their entire bodies are broken down. Upon their return, the system reconstitutes their matter. They did this for Quorra in the same manner. It's like an extremely advanced 3D printing machine. With both Flynns they scanned their bodies to store their pattern to later "print", but for Quorra they had the model already locally stored to print.
So Sam and Qora got out because they used the exit gateway, which is how Sam and Kevin got it. The reasom Kevin couldn't get out was because they blocked his path to the exit gateway and it closed until Sam opened it from the outside.
Neat. Wonder if you’ll be able to get a deal on stopping weapon from the doom clone to fight the girl? Maybe a couple of endings depending on how you interact with certain pieces in a certain order?
I say this with all the love... But y'all need to get some object permanence. "This looks kinda samey" my brother in christ you have been in that room 4 times already.
Fun fact about the new name of Power Slave it still has Power Slave in the title they just combined the PAL name with the us one in the remaster so it was always called exhumed in PAL regions
Yeah, the reason they called it Exhumed in Europe is that Powerslave is the name of an Iron Maiden album, and Maiden being very litigious led to the name change.
Just because Alex mentioned Dusk, one of the greatest modern boomshoots made by Markiplier's close personal friend David Szymanski. I'd like to also recommend you check out Cultic: an excellent dynamite-chucking simulator with a second chapter on the way.
Back at 2001 on forums you wouldn't say "DM me", you'd say "PM me". Dev, fix!
Immersion ruined! 😭
Or would you say IM me? That was around the time of AIM.
@@makmakkun Yes, back then it would almost always be "IM me". Wish AIM was still around :'(
Or spoilers
@@makmakkunThat's only in the US though, the rest of the world back then says 'PM'.
Three guys watching the game, not one noticing the instructions about how to block, questioning how to not take damage because they all failed to read, that's such typical SGS behavior.
Exactly, as usual:
"How do you not take damage?"
Well, the game told you when giving you the Baton...
Also getting the revolver reloading once then running out and never uses it again
28:55 the british R.I.P.D. would be called Scotland Graveyard
HA!
They're based in Glasghoul
Your partner teleporting to you whenever you look away is 100% inspired by that one Sherlock Holmes game where they didn't give Watson a walk cycle, so he only moved when you weren't looking. You can't convince me otherwise.
Since Alex mentioned it, I'd die for a myhouse.wad episode.
It would be several hours long if they gonna get anything but the most basic endings. They would need to have the text printed or open on the other monitor. Actually i'd love it in ANY way, just do it boys!
I should've known Alex "House of Leaves fan" Faciane would be the one to have already played it
That would be amazing...
It’d need whoever’s playing to have no idea about the wad
@@FlexxibleFree Ain't nothing wrong with the most basic of endings. The coolest things happen in the first 45 minutes anyway.
Every single scary game squad episode is so good. It feels like being alive again.
Wait, were you not alive before? That'd be spooky and cool. Ìf you're dead, you'd better make an appearance on Chilluminati 😅
That was extremely compelling and definitely hits the nostalgia vibes that the dev in the game was going for. I would love to see a full SGS on this when the game comes out! Loved the ep, guys, great work!
14:50 That is WAY too good looking for one guy to make as a hobby in 2001. 2001 hobby games were like Newgrounds flash games
yeah i'd believe it was made by a small team over multiple years maybe. it's really funny when people who didn't live in the 90s/early 2000s make stuff set in those periods without doing any research even though the research would be fairly easy.
This is way too late to do any good, but the answer to "how do you not take damage" is you hold Q to block. You guys missed it in the tutorial fight.
Just in time. I was in need of a fix, man. * *scratches neck* *
Fun fact, it was in the comics that Star Trek crossed over with Doctor Who, which lead to the cyberman in the show itself taking influence from the Borg.

I'd adore a Scary Game Squad playthrough of Baroque 🐌
The original PS1 version though please, the artstyle in it is so great.
Alex: "Shout out to Hexen." Yoooooooo that game was fucking awesome back in the day!!!
The thing about watching these demo playthroughs is these demos hardly ever get a full game
*full playthroughs by the squad
Its never a true SGS episode without the mandatory: How the F do you do "X thing thats was explained in the tutorial"?
- Overthinking after talking over crucial information
- Accurate but extremely farfetched theory 1 minute in the game
- Inuendo at akward moments
- Bad catchphrase after a hard fight
- Odd appreciation of monster design
- Sudden frustration with controls
- Bullying Davis with the least creepy element of the game
We should make a SGS bingo with all the staples
Boys are back in town
40:45 Yes, please! It would be awesome to see ya'll play Baroque.
I second this!

Pretty sure "you're gonna die baby" is from Black Rose, a free (but amazing) horror game they played ages ago.
@rainjay2516 is it really? It may be me misremembering but the tune of the old vinyl player that plays in Layers of Fear is was what I was referring to. Me too it hast entered my normal meme language at this Point but no one in my life knows the reference
That's from Black Rose, friend. :) Layers of Fear had them singing "walking all around, walking all around!"
the speed my head bolted to the screen when Jessie mentioned Urianger

In our darkest hour, the light that is The Squad hath shone thru; and we are beholden once more.
You guys should definitely play the my house doom wad, would love to see Jesse and Davis's reactions to it.
This was really good. I love this. Hope you boys play the full version. Mor-tis!
Ive been binging old SGS, yay for new eps!!
same haha got Sucker for love on before bed lately!!
Same lmao. Just went through RE8 and most of RE4make
hard same, I was just binging the squad's Dread-X Collection playthroughs on repeat since Flathead.
Until dawn and PT. Going old school
Sometimes it just hurts to go back
Peter stormare also voiced a vampire named godbrand in the animated castlevania series. He was a Viking vampire.
Im watching this on my gameboy color
this guy gets it
I am all in on some tron legacy discourse from the boys, I loved that movie
I love Alex's impression of a talking dog. It makes me somewhat suspicious he hears the thoughts of dogs he meets in his life.
This is a REALLY cool game! Love how some people are doing the PS1/PS2 vibe with games like this. Can't wait to see you guys do a full playthrough!
Wait, I'm only 2 minutes in, but how have they not commented on the fact that they are literally playing as a priest cop!?
Right?!
The msn (?) messenger sound is unlocking some core memories 😂
I believe the first person shin megami tensei game Alex mentioned is Maken X for the Dreamcast, if anyone's curious.
Thank everything for SGQ, I love y’all
21:57 Are you looking for the word conservatory?
i think they were looking for Vivarium, basically the scientific word for a "biodome", its an area which can be enclosed and used to study wildlife/flora in a controlled enclosed environment
man im 24 and i can recognize Jesse singing E1M1. i cant be old now
What a fun demo! Hope a full version gets released
I got got, in that for a brief moment I thought Demon's Blood was just gonna be the game. Then I got hit with the "Oh Hi Mark". SGS never dissapoints.
Jesse dropping the Star Wars rap send my brain back in time 20 years
dude, same! I wasn't sure if i heard him correctly at first, lol
Love the squad. Can you guys do a series at some point?
The game within the game (Night Call) reminds me of Clive Barkers Undying.
The best series on youtube no doubt.
I really think you would like "Still Wakes the Deep" and you will love the "British subtitles" - heavy Scottish accents and cool monsters.
Funny enough i watched Constantine today! Peter Stormare is an awesome actor!
A day with SGS is a good day
a baroque playthrough would be awesome
It's been a rough day so seeing a SGS video pop up? An absolute godsend.
👨🍳👌
22:00 Conservatory
The Tak Fuji reference from Alex kills me again, god damn he sounds very much alike.

Really cool! Definitely fits the SGS vibe, hope you guys give it a shot on full release!
Daaaamn, I really want to see you guys play the full game! Its so fuuun!
yay new SGS!! would love to see another scary video squad at some point
Peter Stormare omg. His Until Dawn character was incredible. Also I wanna play the shit outta Demon Blood. Looks like the old Wolfenstein and Doom games!
Look as far as wells go Alex. You've chosen some top tier stuff
my parents have a double doored bathroom with a full shower. But the doors are at very opposite ends. one goes into a bedroom with another door that opens up near where the second bathroom door opens. never thought anything about it because the only time the bedroom door gets used is at night time.
17:14 she's like Watson from that one sherlock Holmes game where he appears behind you

It's a demo and it's 1 hour long? I already know this is going to be a good one.
The Pauly Shore bit was great 😂
it's always a good day when a new SGS video comes out
yall ever gonna play the newer dark anthology games
31:48 the Dreamcast game was Maken X
So Sam and Qora got out because they used the exit gateway, which is how Sam and Kevin got it. The reasom Kevin couldn't get out was because they blocked his path to the exit gateway and it closed until Sam opened it from the outside.

Shoutout to the Gribbits Detective Agency by Dragon Friends almost mentioned at 25:00.
"Didn't there used to be 4 scary game squaders?"
Come on old man, you've been warned.
Ah yes DD/MM/YY date format. Must be Europe... Or practically anywhere in the world except the US.
Japan with the god tier YY/MM/DD
I was half expecting to see.
“If you die in the game, you die in real life!”
Love SGS content! I want to recommend a game for you guys to look at: Withering Rooms!
Id love a full playthrough of this when its released
49:39 God damnit Alex XD
I say this with all the love... But y'all need to get some object permanence. "This looks kinda samey" my brother in christ you have been in that room 4 times already.

11:51 what a time to be on a T break!
You might need to collect all of the chalices to beat the boss. One chalice was behind the button by the way.
Wasn't it all Clu's plan?
Take his army, rez it into the real world, conquer it. It's the conceit of it all, I think
Hooray! Thank you SGS miss you all much.
6:45 shoutout to “I’m reading…”
alex is so funny this episode 😂😂😂
Dude, I'm 100% all in for Tron Legacy discourse
The boys should play Gloomwood. Its like if Bloodborne, Resident Evil, and Thief had a baby and was also a PS1 game.
wow i love Ghoulag lmaoooo
The Star Trek/ Green Lantern crossover books are great
Tron legacy is pretty dope. I appreciate the timely discussion.
43:05 I hate how these ones graphically move in game. It's like they're running on a game engine two generations advanced from this 90s game. D:
He's not a beholder, hes a beheld
Alex's voice for the girl at the end sounded a lot like Strong Mad
Just because Alex mentioned Dusk, one of the greatest modern boomshoots made by Markiplier's close personal friend David Szymanski. I'd like to also recommend you check out Cultic: an excellent dynamite-chucking simulator with a second chapter on the way.

Reply: I hope this isn't chris' blood.
Chalice on the left side of the screen starting at 4:24 that was missed
Please...can't we just get beyond Biodome?
"How do you not take damage" - Guys TOTALLY missing the "press Q to block" prompt...
